Feature and Follow Friday #10

Feature and Follow Friday

Question: Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate?  Did you end up hating it?  Did you end up loving it?  Or would you never do that?

Answer: About 5 years ago I wasn't a huge reader. I didn't focus on any genre at the moment (that would interest me). That was when I saw one of my childhood friends (who I had not seen a long time) and I saw her reading a book, the cover looked interesting, so I asked her about the book and she told me that she was reading Twilight. As soon as she told me what it was about, I was not completely interested in reading the books, but I decided to give them a try and I fell in love with the series. That was then when I started reading books similar to Twilight like; the Blue Bloods Series, House of Night Series...etc. Twilight opened a whole new world for me that I wasn't interested in reading before, but now I'm a huge fan of.

Although I now read YA books, I still have a pretty good idea of what kind of books I would like, so I tend to pick the right books to read. (And end up loving them)

Leave me comment below with your answer, or link to you Feature and Follow Friday post and I'll make sure to look at it (and follow you) :D Thanks!

Similiar story here, except that, though I really enjoyed Twilight back then, I now have very mixed feelings about the series. Regardless of that, I usually know what books I'll love or hate. Knowing that I'll dislike a book doesn't usually keep me from reading it, though, which is just stupid, but yeah. XD

Hearing that a lot from people. I was already wayyyy deep into paranormals before Twilight even existed, but I did take a risk when reading that one too.

You were right - your experience was pretty much the same as mine! The best part is that there are SO many YA books that are SO much better than Twilight, and we may never have found them without our persuasive friends.

You know, I'm not a fan of Twilight, but I absolutely love this series for what it's done for younger folk who might NOT have been readers if not for this.

I actually saw the film before I read the book and enjoyed it so much that I went and bought the series.
