What if the brooding billionaire wore pencil skirts and Louboutins? What if the impressionable intern was a small-town furniture maker with boyish charm?

Cole Jacobson always thought he would take after his father and pursue his dreams. But when the family business falters and he’s forced to accept his uncle’s help, Cole is summoned to the big city for a job he never wanted.

Priorities become obscured when Cole finds himself working for Shaun Wright, the strong, intimidating, and ruthlessly attractive business partner at his uncle’s contracting firm. Forced to either sacrifice his hard-won integrity or leave behind the one thing that brings him true happiness, Cole must make a decision that could cost him both. A decision only complicated by the sexy, inscrutable woman he can’t stop thinking about. A woman who just might be as intrigued as he is to cross professional boundaries.

A provocative, trope-twisting romance, Sarina Rhoads’s Drawn Through You finally puts the heroine on the other side of the desk.

My Review:

Drawn Through You is not your typical wealthy-CEO-falling-in-love-with-the-employee type of story, it is rather unique and full of suprises. The thing that immediately caught my attention was the synopsis, it and the cover made the book that much more intriguing.

From the very beginning we get to meet Cole Jacobson, a small-town furniture maker whose father's business is not doing well so he takes his uncle's offer to move to the big city to work for him. What could have been a great opportunity for him ended up not been what he was looking for after what his uncle tells him why he got the job in the first place. That all soon changes when he meets his new boss, Shaun Wright, a strong and overall ruthlessly attractive women who can stand up against anyone that stands on her way. After the hilarious moment when they met for the first time, the two don't start off on the right foot, but it all ends up working out for him as the two start to get to know each other. While working side-by-side the two get to find out each other's pasts and soon Cole starts to realize that he doesn't want to hurt Shaun or the company that she has worked for so long. It is her reputation that is on the line and he is willing to do anything to protect her from his uncle at all costs.

For Shaun Wright being wealthy can come on handy, but after meeting her parents expectations, she is ready to tackle the work force on her own. Yet, after co-creating a company she feels that she is meant to do something else with her life. Needless to say she still wants to do her best for her clients and when she hires Cole she sees his potential right away. Soon they are working together and the chemistry between them ends up growing by the minute. But after discovering what his uncle has been up to, she starts to question Cole's intentions and her feelings for him.

I really enjoyed reading the book, it was entertaining and pleasing to read. Like I mentioned before, the plot is unique and it's such something different to your typical plot line that one would see in other books. The heroine in the story is strong and independent. Shaun knows what she wants, but deep down she questions her decisions that have led her to that point in her life. On the other hand, Cole is kind and caring, he was just the best guy character in the book. Overall, if you're looking for a quick romance book with a twist than I would highly recommend reading this book. : )
