✯BOOK BLITZ:✯ No Secrets by N. Raines {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

No Secrets by N. Raines

Release Date: November 29th 2016
Genres: New Adult, Romance

She wants him…

Alyxandra Franklin crushed on Cris Garcia the first time they met. He wasn't like the guys in her crowd, the boys in grown-up bodies. No, Cris was a man. A man who'd stand up for his girl, hold her close and keep her love safe. In spite of her feelings, Alyx never made a move on him. How could she? He belonged to her best friend, Gabi. And now it's too late.

He hates her…

Cris figures if he never sees Alyx Franklin again, it'll be too soon. She's nothing but a spoiled stupid rich girl, too busy partying to care about anyone but herself. She's the reason Gabi, the girl he loved, lost her life.

But he's wrong. Gabi had secrets. When those secrets blow up his life, Cris is willing to go to any lengths to unravel the lies. Even if that means befriending Alyx—and sleeping with her—to learn the truth.

Brandon nuzzled her ear. "It's just you and me, baby."

She pushed him away as she tried to think. Oh, God. If only she hadn't had all those drinks. Her muzzy state made her clumsy and off-kilter. She meant no, but Brandon wasn't taking no for an answer. Though she'd slapped away his hand, he kept pushing.

He tickled up her side as she tried to squirm away. "Bet I can change your mind…"

God, she was ticklish there. She couldn't help laughing, even though she was pissed he wouldn't take her seriously. "Don't…no, stop it. I mean it, Brandon. Stop…"

A deep voice cut through her weak giggles and Brandon's whispered teasing. "You got a problem with your hearing? She said stop."

They both froze. Alyx couldn't make out the man's face in the darkness, but she knew the voice.

Cris.

When he stepped into the light, Alyx stiffened even as her chest flooded with relief. Grateful as she was that someone had intervened, why did he have to be that someone?

He gazed at them stony-faced. His eyes zeroed in on Brandon's hand on her waist. She felt Brandon's hand tighten, then drop away as he glared back at Cris. "What do you want?"

"I want you to leave her alone." He nodded at Alyx.

"Why don't you just mind your own business?"

Cris ignored him, focusing on Alyx. "Do you want this assclown touching you?"

"Hey!" Clenching his fists, Brandon took a step toward Cris.

Alyx spoke quickly. "I just want to go home." Though pissed off at Brandon, she didn't want to see him and Cris get into it.

The air quivered with nervous energy as the two guys eyed each other. Brandon's jaw was set as though he wanted to lay into Cris, and Cris looked as though he'd like nothing better than to bust Brandon in his preppy, pretty-boy face.

Another voice broke the tension. "Everything cool over here?"

A man stepped out of the darkness and stood beside Cris. Alyx recognized him from inside the bar, the guy who'd been sitting with Cris. Tall and broad shouldered, he was the kind of guy you'd want watching your back when trouble came calling.

"Yeah." Cris's even tone belied the tenseness in his body. "It's all good, man." He glanced at Alyx. "Where's your car? I'll drive you home. You're in no shape to get behind the wheel." Then he turned to the big guy, his friend. "Rick, can you follow us so I can get a lift back here to my ride?"

She tottered on her three-inch heels while Brandon sneered. "Well, I uh…my car's not here. I mean, I came with a friend…but she left without me." God, did she sound pathetic or what?

Brandon's nasty laughter rang out behind them as his climbed into his car. "Good luck getting home, Alyx." He gave the door a slam, then peeled out of the lot, gunning the motor as a farewell fuck-you.

Total silence reverberated before Cris spoke again. "You got some real nice friends."

He didn't even try to hide his contempt, obviously convinced she was stupid and irresponsible. Maybe he was right.

"Well, um, I could call a cab." She unsnapped her tiny purse and wanted to cry when all she found was a compact, a tube of lipstick, and a couple of crumpled dollar bills.

Oh, crap. Not even enough to take the bus, if buses ran this late. What to do? Her brain scrabbled frantically to come up with an answer. "I could call my sister to come get me." Right, ask her for a favor after you ditched her party. But no matter how pissed Morgan might be, she wouldn't leave Alyx stranded. Nor would she tattle to their parents.

She felt both men's gazes on her, the big guy's soft with sympathy, Cris's hard and judgmental. She felt every bit the spoiled little airhead they imagined her to be.

The big dude spoke up. "Well, I could—"

"No," Cris said. "I got this, Rick. Come on, Alyx. I'll take you home."

WINNER OF THE 2014 INDIE ROMANCE CONVENTION BEST SWEET ROMANCE

***Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and mature situations. Not intended for young adult readers.***

He told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.

Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.

He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancé. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.

And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.

Damn but she was a beautiful woman. She was also something he needed to keep his hands off of. No matter what Big Tag said, he did not date women he worked with.

He didn’t really date anyone. He played with subs. When the need got too great, he found a partner for a brief time. He didn’t sleep with anyone. He fucked, and that was starting to get very old. Empty.

“So you said something about house rules?” Tiffany leaned forward, her elbows on the bar. “Are these housekeeping rules or like big bad Dom rules?”

“I don’t suppose I differentiate.” He couldn’t let those big eyes of hers soften him up. It had almost happened at her apartment. When she’d stood up after he’d spanked her and there had been tears running down her face, his impulse had been to reach for her. He’d wanted to draw her in the way he had that night when she was drunk and she’d cried on his shoulder. He’d wanted to smooth back her hair and promise her everything was going to be all right, that he could fix things for her. It was a path that was sure to lead to discomfort for her and humiliation for him. “I prefer a clean living space. I don’t like for things to be messy. I expect that you will keep your things in their proper place.”

Because no matter how hard he tried, he could still trip. The legs he now walked on were only a year old. He’d spent the first two years in a wheelchair.

The Garden’s Wheelchair Dom.

He still wasn’t completely comfortable in the prosthetics.

“I can try,” she said with a frown. “I’ll be honest, I’m not the world’s biggest neat freak.”

He’d been able to tell that from the state of her apartment. It had been cluttered, a bit dusty. With the exception of her easel. That had been perfectly taken care of. He rather wished he’d taken the time to ask to see her art.

He’d seen one painting that night he’d taken her home. It had been a painting of three laughing girls, the swirling colors so vibrant he could hear them giggling as they splashed in a puddle on a rainy day. The figures had been more impressions than photographic reality, but he’d known what she was trying to convey.

“If you cook I’ll clean, and the other way around.” He’d started a list in his head on the long drive. The drive that would have been considerably shorter had they left at the proper time. As she’d sung along to sugary pop songs after she’d changed his radio, he’d sat and considered how to proceed.

With caution. Lots and lots of caution.

“I’m not the best cook in the world,” he continued, “but I can manage. Most nights, of course, we’ll be eating at Top as our training sessions for the new restaurant will last long hours, but I would prefer to eat breakfast here rather than skipping the meal or picking up fast food. Eric made sure the fridge was stocked with a few items I requested.”

“Breakfast.” She gave him a little salute with her free hand. “I can manage that.”

“In addition to our duties at Top, we will now be taking on the additional task of appearing to be a long-term D/s couple, and we need to talk about what that should look like.” Another thing he’d been thinking about ever since that moment the trap had closed around him. “You know you probably could have gotten us out of this assignment. It’s much more difficult for the Dom to say no. The sub always holds the power. Is there a reason you didn’t use yours today?”

“I didn’t want to,” she replied simply. “I don’t have a full-time Dom and I thought it would be interesting to see what that’s like.”

Was she thinking at all? “You know nothing about how I function as a dominant partner.”

“And now I do,” she replied. “You like rules and schedules and you tend to be very fair.”

“I can be quite exacting in my standards.”

“I can be quite flexible,” she shot back as the sexiest smile crossed her face. “I’m serious about that. I can still do the splits and everything.”

“You’re far too reckless, Tiffany.” He didn’t appreciate recklessness so why was she like a siren calling to him? If he listened, he would end up wrecked.

“You’re far too uptight, Sebastian.”

{EXCERPT}

Connell tried to drag the Elemental toward him, but she didn’t budge. Instead, she glanced at his hands. For a second, he could have sworn amusement flashed across her face. Then she was gone—wind whipping him in the face so hard it stung.

Fuck!

He turned around in a circle, scanning the air and the land around him. God, he couldn’t lose her now. He needed to get his wolf back. Not having the extra other in his head was tearing him apart. The empty space inside him was like a crawling emptiness. Sometimes, it was in his head. Other times, it was in his heart.

I can’t believe I lost her.

He’d had her in his hands, and then poof. At this point, she could be anywhere. A strangled sigh escaped from deep in his chest. It sounded pathetic and broken, even to him. He checked the house to make sure she wasn’t there, and then he walked back out to his rented jeep. Damn it, he was going to have to start tracking her all over again.

“Hey, what’s your name?”

Stunned, Connell tripped. Pivoting on his heel, he turned to see the sprite standing on a huge boulder in the distance. He was so damn surprised to see her that he lost his tongue. He just stared at her like an idiot.

Apparently, she agreed. “I can’t keep calling you tall, dark, and stupid, now can I? What…is…your…name?” she repeated, over-enunciating each word.

He was too relieved to get upset over the fact she was talking to him as if he were slow. “Connell Maitland.”

The imp turned away and started addressing the air around her, “He says he’s one of the Maitlands. American accent, so one of the Colorado ones. Yeah. It’s severe. I haven’t seen anything like it. It’s like his wolf was torn out of him somehow. He thinks we did it. Hold on a sec—” Her words broke off as Connell started to run toward her.

A gust of strong air slammed him down to the ground before he cleared the rise.

“Stay there,” the sprite ordered in a glacial tone.

Frigid as the wind, he thought as he regained his footing. Hell, everything about her should be ice-cold. Instead, he felt like he was burning up around her. It was disconcerting. So was the hard edge in her voice. That kind of steel shouldn’t be coming out of such a tiny, doll-like girl.

“Yeah, yeah. It’s fine. He’s on a leash,” the imp said a touch smugly.

Connell growled low in his throat. At least that hadn’t changed. Prey the world over would still react instinctively in fear at that sound.

But the imp didn’t even blink. And she had heard him. She just hadn’t cared. She kept on talking like some gossipy housewife on the phone. Except she was addressing no one.

“Who the bloody hell are you talking to? Invisible fairies? Can anyone even hear you?” he asked incredulously.

✯BOOK BLITZ:✯ The Hitman’s Property by Tia Lewis {Q&A + GIVEAWAY!}

The Hitman’s Property by Tia Lewis

Release Date: November 21st 2016
Series: A Bad Boy Mafia Romance #2
Genres: Dark Hitman Romance

I’ll go into the depths of Hell just to protect her.

As a hitman, my life is simple and about one thing only—kill my mark. Women are just a bonus. They don't govern what I do or who I kill.

I don’t do emotions. I don’t talk about my past. And I certainly don’t fall in love.

At least until I rescued Tess.

I never thought I’d fall for a woman like her—blonde, beautiful, petite, and with mesmerizing blue eyes that see right into my tainted soul.

But when she’s threatened, my protective instincts kick into overdrive.

She’s mine. She belongs to me.

The Russian mafia is getting more desperate to get her back, and I’ll be damned if I let her go. I’ll risk my life a thousand times over, and I’ll take down any f*cking bastard who stands in my way.

Even if the consequences end up deadly.

Purchase: Amazon

{Q&A}

1. What sort of research did you do to write this book?

For my Hitman series, I researched guns, mafia families, accents, etc. This was my first book that I really did a lot of research for.

2. What are you working on now? Any chance of a sequel?

I’m working on a few alpha billionaire romance novels that will be out in December 2016.

3. What started you on the path to writing for a living?

I’ve been writing since I was a teenager and into college for fun. I never thought about doing it as a profession but more for a way to express my ideas and put my imagination to paper. I started seeing other successful indie authors do amazingly well and thought I would turn my writing into a career, too.

4. What are the upsides and downsides to being an author?

The upside is the freedom of expression, but the downside is not everyone will like it. I have a problem with wanting to make everyone (readers) happy and I just have to realize that’s not possible. I’ll keep trying, though!

5. How did you come up with the idea for your book?
My favorite movie is John Wick which is a hitman/mafia movie and wanted to write a character similar to the film.

{EXCERPT}

“You must be the famous Libitz,” he’d opened, taking his assigned seat beside her, and flashing his sexiest grin.

After all, if she was his chosen conquest for the weekend, there was no time like the present to work his wiles. Wearing a simple black sheath dress with aqua circles, 70s-style mod make-up and oversized silver and crystal chandelier earrings that almost brushed her thin shoulders, she’d turned to him and blinked those wide, all-seeing eyes.

“And you…must be kidding.”

Taken aback, he’d stared at her for a second before chuckling. “Wha—I mean, how’s that?”

“Let’s start over,” she said, cocking her head to the side. “Here’s your line, Romeo: “Hi, I’m Étienne’s brother, Jean-Christian. It’s nice to meet you.” Want to give it a try?”

He cleared his throat, his smile fading. “Hi, I’m Étienne’s brother, Jean-Christian. It’s nice to meet you.”

She locked eyes with his, her lips neutral, neither tilted up nor down. “Hi. I’m Libitz Feingold, Kate’s best friend…and it’s not cold enough.”

“What?” asked J.C., feeling completely turned around.

"It’s not cold enough in hell for me to fall for someone like you,” she said, then shifted back around to talk to the person on her other side.

Well, fuck me, thought J.C., taking another gulp of beer as he tried to figure out if he was insulted or impressed. After a moment, he nudged her in the side with his elbow and she looked at him over her shoulder, her expression annoyed.

“Yes?”

“I hear the temperature’s dropping there,” he said casually, then added, “because they’re expecting a visit from you.”

"Ha!” she chortled, a genuine grin brightening her eyes for a moment before she quickly reigned it back in to practiced ennui. “Is that right?”

He shrugged, tipping his bottle of beer back as he held her eyes, challenging her to come back at him with something clever. “So I heard.”

“From all the friends you’ve got there?”

He almost spit his beer out. Damn, but she was quick.

"Truce?’ he asked, placing his beer on the table and holding out his hand.

She stared at his hand for a moment, then looked away, leaning forward to pick up her champagne glass and bringing it slowly to her lips. “No, thanks. Mama didn’t raise no fool.”

“You’re unreal.” She shook her head, that bored look still in place.

"Nope. I’m real. I’m just not a good target for charming scamps looking for trouble.”

"A target? Shit. Who got to you?” he asked, feeling a little abused by her insta-judgement of him without actually getting a chance to know him in person. Not that she was wrong exactly. But getting into trouble with the right person could be a hell of a lot of fun.

“The list is long and distinguished,” she shot back.

His eyes widened and his lips wobbled.

“Oh, God,” she said, shaking her head as her cheeks bloomed an appealing pink under her make-up. “I walked right into that one didn’t I?”

“Yes, you did,” said J.C. with what he hoped was a disarming grin. “All together, now…”

“So’s my Johnson,” they said at the same time, quoting the rebuttal line from Top Gun.

“Hey, look at that,” he said, still smiling at her. “You do know how to have fun. I was beginning to worry.”

Her smile instantly faded. “You’re not as cute as you think you are.”

"Yeah,” he said, nodding as he finished the last of his beer. “I am.”
