✯REVIEW & EXCERPT TOUR✯ Dirty Filthy Fix by Laurelin Paige

Dirty Filthy Fix by Laurelin Paige

Release Date: November 21st 2017 by Evil Eye Concepts, Incorporated
Series: Fixed #5.5
Genres: Romance, Novella, Contemporary

I like sex. Kinky sex. The kinkier the better.

Every day, it’s all I think about as I serve coffee and hand out business agendas to men who have no idea I’m not the prim proper girl they think I am.

With a day job as the secretary to one of New York’s most powerful men, Hudson Pierce, I have to keep my double life quiet. As long as I do, it’s not a problem.

Enter: Nathan Sinclair. Tall, dark and handsome doesn’t come close to describing how hot he is. And that’s with his clothes on. But after a dirty, filthy rendezvous, I accept that if we ever see each other again, he’ll walk right by my desk on his way to see my boss without recognizing me.

Only, that’s not what happens. Not the first time I see him after the party. Or the next time. Or the time after that. And as much as I try to stop it, my two worlds are crashing into each other, putting my job and my reputation at risk.

And all I can think about is Nathan Sinclair.

All I can think about is getting just one more dirty, filthy fix.

My Review:

Dirty Filthy Fix was such an addictive and sexy story that will most certainly leave you wanting for more. Not having read other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading the book, needless to say I was impressed with the characters and how the story was executed. Now, I’ve read other novellas in the 100 Dark Night series but this one took my by surprise.

In the book we get to meet Nate and Trish, two strangers who meet unexpectedly one night and whose lives changed forever after spending the night together. Though neither of them want to get into a relationship, the both still want to have fun in the sex department. As two consenting adults, they both embark in a wild ride at a club who caters to those that want something more than just plain sex. Their identity was supposed to be kept a secret, but neither one of them expected to meet again the following day. When Nate arrives to his appointment, he wasn’t expecting to see Trish again, but even though they didn’t reveal themselves completely he could still recognize her right away. It was all supposed to be an arrangement for Trish, but seeing Nate again has brought her completely different feelings and the more time they spend together the more she wants to be with him. The only thing is that neither of them expected a relationship, and telling him how she feels could end up breaking her heart.

I loved the overall story, it was different to me and hot! This is not your average romance story, it is steamy and full of feels that will leave you swooning an rooting for the characters in the end. Nate is kind and a total alpha male. He knows what he wants and takes care of Trish. On the other hand, Trish is confident and is not afraid of getting what she wants as well. She doesn’t do relationships, but we get to see her grow and change her mind the more time she spends with Nate. Aside from the characters having an explosive chemistry, the author did a great job bringing everything together in the end. We get our happily-ever-after in this book and I enjoyed it. I would highly recommend checking it out. I will most certainly be reading more from the author in the future. :)

My Rating:

{EXCERPT}

I set down my champagne flute, untouched, and waited, my arms folded across my chest.

But what he said next surprised me. “What kind of life do you envision for yourself? What’s your dream future?” Instead of immediately hounding me about my utter disrespect for the sanctity of marriage, he wanted to listen.

This...was new.

I wasn’t prepared, which sort of pissed me off. Not only because it occurred to me that I could have misjudged Nathan Sinclair, but also because I didn’t exactly have a checklist of plans for myself. I just had things I liked doing that I wanted to continue doing, uninterrupted.

“What is it I want from my life?” I repeated back to him, buying time to think about it.

And then when I did think about it I realized I didn’t need the time. I knew exactly what I wanted. “My own stuff, my own space, steady kinky sex in different locations. Happy? I’m leaving.” I spun on my five-inch heels and walked toward the exit. Irritated.

I didn’t know why I was so worked up, maybe because the whole topic was a sore spot. Maybe because even though he hadn’t given the speech yet, I knew it was coming eventually. I didn’t fit into the traditional world with my viewpoints about happily-ever-afters. I already knew that.

Or, maybe I was worked up because people rarely believed it about me when I told them. They always thought that I was lying to them or lying to myself, but I really didn’t want what society believed I should want in the way they thought I should want it, and I didn’t want to have to argue about it with Nate, because I did truly like him. And I didn’t want to have this conflict. But liking him didn’t mean I wanted to give up who I was just to make him happy.

Instead of talking it to death and arguing my side, it was easier just to go. Get it over with. I could cut the ties now before I liked him even more. Before the string didn’t just tug me back from the clouds, but let all the air out of me, too.

I rushed out into the lobby, assuming he’d let me go, but he followed. And really, that’s what I probably should have expected. He’d already proven he was the kind of guy that chased. Shoe or not, Nate Charming liked his fairytale kink.

And I’d just performed the most cliché move of all for a sexed-up Cinderella—I’d run from the freaking ball.

About Laurelin Paige:

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.

{EXCERPT}

She stepped closer and rested her hands on my chest, her cheeks flushed, eyes bright. “I’m so happy to be here with you, you have no idea,” she said softly.
My abs clenched. Jesus, just having her hands on me made me as hard as iron. “I think I have an idea.”
“Yeah?” she said, moving even closer.
I might have decided to keep my dick in my pants, but there was no way I wasn’t going to kiss her. I’d go mad if I didn’t taste those full lips. I dipped my head. “Oh yeah.”
We’d had a couple of hot and heavy conversations over the phone, but I’d tried not to go there too often with her. I knew this day was coming, and I had a definite idea of how our time together should be spent. If I’d been listening to her come over the phone the last six months all that would have disappeared out the window. Shit, I’d already have her naked in my bed.
I growled, shoving that image out of my head, and closed the distance between us.
Finally, our lips met…and I kid you not, the fucking angels sang.
My mouth covered hers, moving slowly at first, and my entire body lit up, every nerve ending sparking, my heart pounding. I slid my arms around her small waist and hauled her off her feet, lifting her so we were the same height. Shoving my fingers in her hair, I tilted my head to get more of her, and she opened for me, her sweet little tongue flicking out and brushing mine.
I’d been with quite a few women in my life. Like I said, I’d lived wild for a lot of years, acting out, trying to work out what I wanted. But as soon as I did, as soon as I knew what I wanted for my future, I’d stopped all of it. I’d focused on my goal, which was building a house and finding a woman who I could share it with. That was four years ago. Which meant I’d been celibate that long as well. So I wasn’t surprised by my reaction to Freya, by the pulsing need pounding through me at finally having her against me.
But I’d never in my life experienced anything like this. Like a live wire was sparking inside me, through my whole damn body. My hips punched forward all on their own, my cock impossibly hard. I knew I had to slow this down, take a step back, but God only knew how I was going to do that.

{EXCERPT}

“What in Hades is wrong with you?” I hissed, trying to keep my voice down.

“You,” he growled. “Tramping around with my brother alone at night!”

“Why should anything I do with your brother concern you?”

I managed to pull my arm away, but he pivoted on his heels and came at me with wild, dangerous eyes. I retreated to a corner, and he pinned me in. With one arm on each side of my head, he leaned in and pressed himself against me.

“For the love of Zeus, Ambrosia. Don't you see what you do to me? I can't handle the thought of you with anyone least of all that spoiled sniveling excuse for a demigod.”

His words came out as desperate pleas. I fought hard against them, but I couldn't ignore the fire they lit in my heart. How did it come to this? He was supposed to have met the sharp side of my blade by now. Everything had spun horribly, horribly off path, and it was too late to regain control.

My heart thumped so strongly it caused a pain in my chest. His breathing was so chaotic and unbridled it was all I could focus on. His lips hovered over mine, and I wanted to reach up to bring them to mine, but I didn't dare.

He smiled the same forbidding smile he had shown me the night we first met. I melted in place, my knees nearly giving out at the sight of it. I had never seen a man as tempting as the one here in front of me.

“He can't have you, Ambrosia. You are mine.” He lowered his lips down onto mine, forcing me to breathe in his groans.

Any small restraint I had left was gone. My body trembled under his hands. I tried to gasp when he finally pulled away, but the air caught in my throat as his mouth trailed it with rough, lingering kisses.

I hear a voice behind me.
‘Need some help with that?’
I spin around.
It takes a couple of seconds for my brain to confirm that it’s actually him. That it’s actually Jake McCallister standing in front of me and not a hallucination. My heart does this fierce smash and rebound against my ribs as though it’s been violently woken from hibernation. I draw in a breath so big it feels like my lungs might explode, as if all that air is filling a vacuum and I’ll never be able to let it out again.
I hate this feeling. Hate the way the adrenaline floods my blood stream and tears sting my eyes. Hate the way my body reacts in a thousand contradictory ways at the sight of him, as though someone has plugged me into a wrong socket and fried all my synapses.
I have an impulse to throw myself at him but I’m not sure if it’s because I want to hug him or beat the living crap out of him. I drop the kayak, my hands fisting automatically at my sides.
I watch the smile on his lips fade when he notices the set of my jaw. His expression had started off wary but now I see him swallow and press his lips together, something he always does when he’s nervous.
I take note of that and at the same time notice a dozen other tiny, insignificant, monumental details about this new old Jake. I see the faded white scar on his chin—the one I gave him and the new scar cutting across his eyebrow. Then there’s his height – we were always the same height but now he’s tall. . . much taller than me. His dark brown hair is the same, though - unruly, untamed, falling in his eyes. He’s looking at me with the same mix of uncertainty that he looked at me the very last time I saw him.
I glance away, down at the sand. My whole body is shaking and I can’t seem to get it under control.
‘Em?’ I hear him say.
My head flies up before I can stop it. No one calls me that any more. His voice is deeper, mellower. The inflection though when he says my name is still just the same... and instantly something inside me starts coming undone. Jake always used to say my name like it belonged to him, and only him.

✯BOOK BLITZ:✯ Bad Princess by Julianna Keyes {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

Bad Princess by Julianna Keyes

Release Date: November 27th 2017 by Julianna Keyes
Pages: 100
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

This is a novella.

Notorious for leaping off roofs, maiming foreign royals, and thattwerking incident, Brinley Cantrella of Estau is nobody’s definition of a good princess. She’s fearless and bold, not good and gracious. And after a lifetime of being told she’s unfit to be queen, wearing the crown and helping to usher Estau into a new era is the one dream she’s never dared chase.

But when her older sister abdicates the throne, all Brinley has to do to inherit the role is not twerk, not maim anybody, and definitely not get caught fooling around topless with Prince Finn, her childhood crush, the only man she’s ever loved…and her sister’s former future husband.

Finn embodies the definition of good. Tall and handsome, serious and honorable, he always does the right thing—including agreeing to marry his ex’s sister to cover up this latest scandal. Brinley has fallen down stairs, broken teeth and broken bones, but this is the first time her heart has ever been broken. She now has the crown and the prince, and on the surface, life is good—but is being married to a man everyone swears could never love her back good enough?

Purchase: Amazon, B&N, Kobo, iBooks

{EXCERPT}

For Brinley, the girl who had spent her life exploring every forbidden nook and cranny, crawling under desks and peering behind paintings, the castle was very much her home. For Elle it had been a jail cell. Her perfect behavior had been that of a model prisoner, biding her time, waiting to break free. And now she had fled and left the world with—

“Brinley,” King Edric said. He rose from his seat where he waited with her father in the formal sitting room. He buttoned his perfectly tailored jacket and nodded politely. “How lovely to see you again.” The words were polite, but the man himself was cold and impersonal, his pale hair and eyes a visual representation of the permanent frost in his voice.

“And you,” Brinley replied, extending her hand for him to kiss. No matter the modern ideology of the kingdoms, some traditions never waned. She kept her eyes on his, her crooked smile bright and cheerful, even as she almost died from the effort required not to look at Finn, who stood just behind his father, calmly waiting his turn to greet her.

Edric finally released her and Finn took his place, taking her hand and pressing his lips to her knuckles. A roaring fire burned brightly behind him, but that was not the thing that made Brinley’s cheeks flush.

“Princess,” he said formally. Everything Finn did was formal. Everything about him from his carefully coiffed hair and his straight features to the brass buttons on his jacket and the tassels on his epaulets was formal. He was so stiff and handsome, but instead of off-putting Brinley found it incredibly tempting, the way she found the castle’s forbidden secret passageways tempting. She wanted to explore him. She wanted so desperately to see those carefully chiseled features crack a smile when it was not called for, to hear him laugh, curse, moan.

But even as she wished for it, she knew it would never happen. Elle may not have reciprocated his feelings, but Brinley had little doubt that he had cared deeply for her sister. It was mandated, after all, and Finn was very much a dutiful prince, one who always followed orders and never his heart.
