Everything He Wants is the first book in my new series, The Billionaire Breakfast Club. The BBC is a group of seven very different friends who meet when they are young and (mostly) poor, but with dreams of one day becoming billionaires. Now they are all on the cusp of realizing their success goals, but suddenly wealth and fame don’t seem so shiny anymore. Can they learn that love is the greatest fortune of all?

Spring 2008, Cambridge, Massachusetts

D’Andre glanced around guiltily.

It was pretty much impossible to be inconspicuous as a six-four black kid while he snuck out of the Young Entrepreneur seminar, but he managed to slide out a side door as the speaker’s attention was snagged by some girl in the front row who raised her hand every five minutes.

His head hurt.

Yeah, he’d promised his mother but even this dumb football jock knew that the guy at the podium was no longer on the cutting edge. He was taking about venture tactics that might have worked when D was in elementary school but the world moved at a crazy pace.

He nodded sharply to a Hispanic kid who sat on a bench outside the closely guarded lecture hall. Something about the guy struck D as dejected but you’d never know it from looking at him.

The kid stared at D’s badge then sighed and stood.

A perfectly-groomed blond guy with shiny hair and the requisite country club attire of a navy blazer and tan khakis eased out a different side door. Huh, Richie Moneybags was cutting out too. He stopped when he saw D, then gave him a chin lift and a conspiratorial grin.

“I’m heading over to the diner across the street. Wanna come?” He was purposely slurring his words together, but even with the attempt to be ghetto, the prep school diction came through.

“Dude, that was lame.” Some surfer guy sauntered up to them as the entire lecture hall came streaming out of auditorium for a scheduled potty break. He held out his fist and waited for a fist bump. “Duke.”

D obliged. “D’Andre.”

“You are a beast.” Surfer Duke wore a suit and tie but his hair was silvery gold from salt water and he had mixed heritage olive skin with a killer tan.

“Jay.” Preppy boy nodded at them both.

Jay’s princess counterpart, the perfect preppy girl, bounced up to their little group. “Fabulous!” She clapped. “Let’s go.” She smiled at them all.

“This is Tracy,” the prince said. They made a flawless couple like a prep school Ken and Barbie.

They all walked out together. D noted that the Hispanic kid trailed behind them.

When they entered the diner, a skinny little Asian kid sat at the largest table in the place, one of those with a booth and a weird circle banquette type thing and a chair on the end. His tag hung around his scrawny neck, and D had the random thought that he could crush the guy with one hand behind his back. But Tracy walked straight up to him and smiled. “Hi.”

The kid blinked. “Uh, hi?”

“Can we sit with you? We’re from the same seminar. We also decided we’d be better off trading ideas than sitting through more of that lecture.”

“Great!” She slid into the booth and basically herded him into the corner.

No way was D squeezing into that sitting area.

He grabbed the lone chair, turned it around and straddled it.

The Hispanic kid had followed, except now that he was closer D could see the guy was older than him and the golden kids.

“Peter Nguyen.” The Asian kid chattered nervously, “I’m at Harvard. Graduated number one in my class but I’m already a junior because I took a billion AP classes.” He paused, looked at everyone as if waiting for them to list their academic prowess. “Not really a billion, of course. I was attempting to be relevant. But clearly I’ve failed at social interaction.”

And after that, everyone else said their names again with no mention of where they went to school or what their GPA was, thank fuck.

Preppy Ken said, “Jay Hollingsworth.”

“The fourth,” the bouncy girl added.

The Hispanic kid thrust out his hand. “Diego Ramos. School of life.”

No apologies. D’s impression improved.

“Why did you come here?” D wondered.

“Read about this seminar and wanted to see if I could get in.” His posture was slightly defensive as if waiting for them to tell him to get lost.

Instead of being disgusted at his sheer balls, Hollingsworth the fourth’s mouth spread into a wide, welcoming smile. “Nice. A rule breaker. Have a seat, Diego.”

The chatty princess folded her hands in front of her and bounced on the seat. “Smart. You must be really motivated.” She wasn’t rude exactly but more like examining them all like bugs under a microscope as if they were some exotic unknown species that she wanted to study.

And maybe they were.

He’d bet that he, Nguyen, and Ramos were all foreign entities in her rarified world.

“Tracy Thayer.” She gave a little wave.

“Thayer?” Nguyen asked. “As in— ”

“Ugh, yes. That’s my family.”

Jay raised one eyebrow at Harvard boy.

“Understanding the political climate of my adoptive state is only smart.”

He probably had plenty of time to study politics since he clearly didn’t get out much.

“Let’s focus on why we’re here,” Tracy said. “Entrepreneurs in training.”

“I want to be a billionaire,” Nguyen stated quickly. “But that seminar wasn’t informative enough.”

“Me too!” Tracy said.

“Money doesn’t suck,” Jay contributed.

Diego said, “I’m going to own my own business.”

They all had large goals. No way was D going to admit that he was only here because of his mother. But as he looked around the table, he thought this band of misfits might be good friends to cultivate. And he was nothing if not friendly.

Before anyone could say anything, Nguyen blurted, “Hey, we’re like the movie The Breakfast Club.”

Five blank faces.

“The Jock, the Nerd, the Rebel,” he slid a sideways look at Diego. So the Nerd paid attention. “The Free Spirit, and the Prince—” he stopped himself before he said Princess.

“Jesus, Nguyen. Do you ever get laid?” D snarked out. Peter Nguyen was the guy he couldn’t stand. So crazy smart he looked down on everyone else.

He’d clearly hurt Peter’s feelings. But shit.

Diego shot D a look. “Chicks dig smart guys. At least, according to my friends who are also crazy smart.”

“The Breakfast Club…but the billionaire version,” Nguyen said.

“We aren’t billionaires,” D was compelled to point out.

“Yet.” Jay cocked his blond head and bared his white teeth in a cocky grin.

Of course, he was pretty much guaranteed to be a billionaire by the time he was thirty.

“Uh, the building we just bugged out of was named after your grandfather. Pretty sure you’re a shoo-in.” There went Nguyen, shooting his knowledge and showing off.

Jay flushed. “Family money doesn’t mean it’s going to come to me,” he muttered.

Still, D couldn’t even imagine that kind of money. He was seriously thinking about going into the draft in a few weeks. Then he’d be making more money than he’d ever dreamed of. He might not go in the first or second round, but it would still be insane amounts of cash. That’s why his momma wanted him to come to this seminar. He wasn’t about to be stupid with his money. But billionaire?

He’d just be happy to be able to support his momma so she could quit her jobs.

The surfer dude piped up. “Got to think big, man.”

Yeah, but even D knew that what the seminar speakers were talking about wasn’t the future. So the Emerging Young Entrepreneur Seminar was a bust.

Even though Nguyen annoyed the shit out of him, D liked his optimism. Sitting in this greasy diner, he thought maybe he’d found his tribe. They all wanted similar things. Money, fame, acknowledgement. And he personally thrived on competition.

“Money isn’t everything.” Duke, the crunchy surfer dude, practically had Berkeley pacifist student tattooed on his forehead.

They all snorted.

Duke ducked his head. “Okay, yeah, it’s important.”

Diego pushed. “How about a wager, gentlemen…and lady?”

A feminine hand with black nail polish slapped on the Formica tabletop. “I’m in.” The skinny girl from the back row with the multi-colored hair and multiple piercings tossed a smirk at Hollingsworth.

“You don’t even know what it is,” Jay argued.

“Doesn’t matter.” She shoved in next to Duke. “Name’s Courtney. And this looks like the meeting to be at instead of the lame bull they’re slinging back there.” She jerked her head toward the building they’d left.

Jay tilted his chin in the air like a complete jerk. Weird since he’d been pretty mellow and open up until this point. “We didn’t invite you.”

“Oh, really. Who made you the head of this band of brothers?”

“And sister!” Tracy piped up, watching the back and forth avidly.

D tuned out Jay and Courtney as they bickered.

What could they wager?

“Guys, what’s the wager?” Courtney kicked him under the table.

Diego said, “Okay, okay, first person to make their first million buys breakfast for everyone.”

They looked around the table at each other, blinking, nodding.

“We need a name,” Tracy bounced again, such perky, slightly annoying cheerfulness. “First rule of marketing is to create and stick to your brand.”

“Billionaire Breakfast Club,” Nguyen said stubbornly.

Billionaire. D had to admit, the idea was growing on him. He loved the sound of that. As he glanced around the table, the name was already sticking with everyone.

“All those in favor say, aye.”

The chorus of Ayes was robust.

Everyone put their hand in the middle and bumped fists.

And the Billionaire Breakfast Club was formed.

USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa Hughey has been writing romance since the fourth grade, which was also about the time she began her love affair with spies. Harriet and Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys later gave way to James Bond and Lara Croft and Jason Bourne.

Exploring the complex nature of a profession that requires subterfuge and lies fascinates her. She loves combining her two passions into fiction. As evidenced by her Black Cipher Files series.

Archangel Rafe was her first foray into the paranormal but after spending time in the Angelic Realm, it won't be her last. At their heart, the Seven novels are about the dynamics of family relationships. But the really hot Archangels don't hurt.

And recently she's been immersed in the Stone Family novellas, four stories about a blended family of brothers and sister who have a lot more in common than they realize. But of course she couldn't just write about family and romance. There are complex plots, bad guys, and suspense too.

Lisa loves to hear from readers and has various places you can connect with her, although, shh, Twitter is her favorite.

✯RELEASE DAY LAUNCH:✯ Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely {REVIEW + EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely

Release Date: March 20th 2018 by Lauren Blakely Books
Pages: 300
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

From #1 NYT bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a sexy new standalone romance!

The first time I met him, his sexy British accent almost talked me into giving him my number on the spot. The second time, he nearly charmed the panties off me with his wit. Then I learned he's the key to success in my new job in Paris. The man who tempts me into fling-worthy dirty daydreams has turned out to be my personal translator, and his accent is the hottest thing I've ever heard.
My mantra is simple -- Don't mix business with pleasure. I do my best to resist him as he teaches me how to converse with my co-workers, navigate the metro and order the perfect bottle of wine at dinner. But I also figure out how to tell the charming and clever man what I most want to say -- that I want him to take me back to his flat -- tonight.
Except there's a catch...

One more assignment before I take off on my big adventure...

And it involves the toughest work ever -- resisting the fetching American woman I spend all my days with. But you know what they say about best intentions. Soon, we're spending our nights tangled together, and I don’t want to let her go. The trouble is, my wanderlust is calling to me, and before we know it I'll be traveling the globe to fulfill a promise I made long ago.

What could possibly go wrong with falling in love in Paris? Nothing...unless one of you is leaving.

Forget oysters. Screw candlelight and champagne. A sexy accent is the truest aphrodisiac. I’m talking a weak-in-the-knees, flutters-all-over, fast-track to euphoria.
I’ve tried to analyze precisely why the sound of a man’s words can elicit this reaction in, frankly, millions of women. But when I break down an accent and study it like a chemical reaction, it’s nearly impossible to draw a logical conclusion. The ingredients in and of themselves don’t seem swoontastic enough.
And yet, accents have been known to induce major swooning.
That’s why, in my professional opinion, the sounds aren’t the rocket fuel for the tingles. Instead, it’s the associations evoked. Italian is food, wine, and days drenched in the pleasures of the senses. Australian is the laid-back twang of a surfer. A Southern drawl says a man will take his sweet time. Oh, yes, darlin’, will he ever.
But British? Dear God. A delicious British accent to my oh-so-American ears triggers wave after wave of goose bumps across my skin. My knees wobble. My stomach swoops. My skin heats. All the turned-on centers in my body are cranked to high.
A British accent is James Bond in a bottle. It’s sex, it’s style, it’s sophistication, and it’s the man who’ll find his way out of any jam, save the damsel, and do it all with silver cuff links on.
Wait. Make that platinum.
Charmed, indeed.
That’s why I say it’s a damn good thing I’m moving to a country that won’t be chock full of my personal vocal kryptonite, since I don’t have the time or inclination for distractions in my life right now. Look, I don’t have a single problem with the French accent whatsoever. A hot French man can voulez-vouscoucher avecmoi, if you know what I mean.
But it’s a British accent that turns me to Silly Putty, so in Paris I’ll be mighty fine.
Then, I meet him.

My Review:

“Paris is where you go to reinvent yourself.”

I wish I could rate this book any higher, Lauren Blakely has outdone herself with this masterpiece! She has made me fall in love with Paris all over again. Wanderlust is definitely one of those books that you just have to read and read all over again because it’s just that good. From the sexy cover to the intriguing synopsis, Blakely has managed to deliver a book full of love and adventure that will leave you wanting for more.

After going through a bad relationship, Joy Danvers - Lively is ready to move on with her life and when she is offered the job in Paris that she has been wanting it doesn’t take her long to accept. Now she is on her way to star a new life, and hopefully love Paris enough to stay there permanently. While she liked working for a cosmetic company in Texas, Joy has managed to snagged a job with her company’s French devision where she is going to work in a lab formulating new fragrances. Though this is an exciting opportunity for her, Joy is not fluent in French and that is making her transition a bit harder for her. But with the little she knows she is ready to start practicing the language without holding back and that is when she ends up meeting a very handsome stranger at a bakery while trying to help her translate what she wants. It’s the sparks between them that set off right from the start and although she is not sure if she’ll ever see him again, they flirt back and forth not wanting to say good-bye. It is until the next day that she finds out that the hands stranger is non other than Griffin Thomas, her translator for the next six months. Now that would have made Joy happy, but they’re working together now and wanting anything else with him will never work out.

Griffin Thomas loves Paris and knows it like the back of his hand. But what he loves the most are all the odd facts and curiosities of the city that you may not find in guidebooks. After living in the city for a year, he has done so much and he is ready to move on onto his next adventure. But when his last job didn’t turned out that way he had hoped, his boss gets him a new/last job before leaving the city for good. He never expected to meet Joy and as her translator he wanted to keep things professional, especially when he is not going to be in Paris for long, but her attitude towards life and energy are making it harder for him. He wants Joy, but there are still tasks that he must fulfill and he won’t get them done if he stays in Paris. When she asks him to teach her French, Griffin agrees and as the two start to spend even more time together they start to realize just how much they have in common and how much they want each other. Neither one was looking for a relationship, but the city that they love brought them together. Now it’ll be up to them to decide if they want to move forward or not.

There is so much about this story that I absolutely loved! The characters were so relatable and full of life. Their backstories alone intrigued me from the start, they both have struggled and it is because of their pasts that they’re now in a city where they can create a new life. Lauren Blakely has given us such vivid descriptions of Paris that made the story that much more magical. Every spot that she mentioned is already on my list of places to visit. What captivated me the most was the romance between the characters, their chemistry was sizzling and swoon worthy. Griffin is a Brit living in Paris (which makes him that much more dreamy!) and his relationship with Joy is fun and charming. He is a total flirt, but he knows what he wants and is not afraid to get it. Joy is lively and sees things differently. Her attitude towards live is contagious and fun. I love that she was able to spot hidden treasures around the city that Griffin might have missed. They both fit so well and they’ve proven that they can have it all. I highly recommend reading Wanderlust, you will not regret it! ;)

✯RELEASE WEEK BLAST:✯ The Backup Plan by Jen McLaughlin {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

The Backup Plan by Jen McLaughlin

Release Date: March 19th 2018 by Entangled Publishing, LLC (Embrace)
Pages: 254
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

I’m beyond help...

I threw a football before I could walk. Everything in my life revolved around football–and I loved every second. I was a star. Until, suddenly...I wasn’t. Now everyone thinks I’m the monster who killed his best friend. I’m an outcast on campus, silent and alone. Then Taylor Selmer walks back into my life. When will she learn–I’m beyond saving.

I need to save him...

Chase and I used to be friends. But after the accident, nothing was the same. We used to have something special–until we didn’t. But he doesn’t smile anymore. Doesn’t talk. Doesn’t play. It hurts me to see him this way, and I will do everything I can to get him back in the game. Whether he likes it or not.

The door opened...making me fall backward into Chase’s pitch-black room. When I landed against something hard and naked, arms closed around me without hesitation.

A palm brushed my right breast, sending a wave of awareness shooting through me. I tried not to think about that, though.

Guys were nothing but trouble.

I had bigger plans than falling for a smooth talker with bright eyes and a fake smile who would do nothing but distract me. Once I managed to regain my balance, I spun on my heel and looked at him.

The room behind him was dark, but the hallway illuminated his hotness. And once it did? I wished I hadn’t looked at all.

He stood in the doorway, looking completely unfazed by the fact that he’d basically just felt me up, and glowered at the guy in the hallway. He was shirtless, and wearing nothing but a pair of black sweats. His chest was hard and chiseled, and his abs...yeah. I wasn’t gonna touch upon those for the sake of my own sanity.

Waxing poetic over his abs wasn’t part of my job description.

“Uh, hey...” the guy in the hallway said, trailing off after a feeble attempt at pretending he hadn’t been talking crap about him moments before.

Chase’s green eyes met mine before focusing on the guy in the hall again. His sharp cheekbones were the same as I remembered, and so was his short brown hair. He used to have dimples in his cheeks when he smiled, which had softened the harsh lines of his face and given him a softer appeal, but I had no idea if they still existed since he hadn’t smiled at me yet. anyone all day. Had he forgotten how?

He said nothing. Just stared the other guy down.

Even I had to admit his stony silence was impressive.

Of course, he kind of reminded me of his dad right now, something he probably wouldn’t like. Or would he? I had no clue.

“I didn’t mean to...” The guy backed up, his face pale, and looked back at me. “She a friend of yours?”

Chase didn’t answer him. He just motioned me inside, his jaw ticking ever so slightly. When I didn’t move fast enough, he shot me a look with those gorgeous eyes of his, and I jumped slightly. “Um. Yes, I am.” I swallowed hard and inched past him, making sure I didn’t brush against his bare chest in the process.

Chase slammed the door behind me. I blinked across the inky blackness of the room, my heart hammering away in my ears. He’d been sitting here in the dark this early in the night? Had he been napping before hitting the books?

I’d learned college kids napped more than one year olds—and much more enthusiastically.

“Do you have something against lights?” I asked, forcing a little laugh at the end.

Dead silence met my joke. In all fairness, it was a pretty lame attempt. For a second I wondered if he was even in the room with me, but I heard him breathe. I turned my head, trying to figure out where he was. To my left, maybe.

“Okay. No lights, then. That’s fine. It’s cool. I’m not scared of the dark.” I paused. “Were you taking a power nap? I could use one. I got an hour of sleep last night.”

Still nothing.

I sensed him there, right next to me. He wasn’t touching me, but I swore he was thinking about it or something.

That makes no sense, Taylor.
