✯REVIEW BLITZ:✯ xo, Zach by Kendall Ryan

xo, Zach by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: January 23rd 2018 by Kendall Ryan Books
Pages: 299
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

The first time we met was at a party.

Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date.

I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.

The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.

The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.

I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it.

You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week.

I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be the adviser to your program and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.

My Review:

Having read other books by Kendall Ryan before they have never disappoint and xo, Zach was no different. The story was truly heartwarming and sweet as we got to see the characters transition into the next step in their lives. In the story we get to meet Poppy, a college student whose recent brake up has her focusing on her school work rather than guys. When her friend invites her to a party she never expected to see her ex, without wanting to be seen alone she selects a random guy and asks him to pretend that they’re together. But after one smoking hot kiss between them leaves them wanting for more, Poppy gets away from the scene without knowing if she’ll see him again. It is the next day that she finds out that the stranger, Zach is non other than her advisee in her poetry program and she’ll have to work with him in order to graduate. Soon their meetings start to get more frequent and the two start to get to know each other better. What Poppy realizes then is that the sexual tension between them is unavoidable and she has to keep her distance if she doesn’t want to get hurt.

Zach never expected to see Poppy again, but the kiss that they shared at the party is constantly playing in his mind and he is happy to see that she is his advisee. He knows that they can’t have a relationship or he’ll lose his job, but when they’re together it’s hard to avoid the chemistry that they have. Soon he wants to be with her all the time, but it’s the secret that she’s been holding that could threaten their future together that will prove to be the ultimate test.

xo, Zach was such a fantastic read, Ryan did a great job describing the characters while making them relatable. There wasn’t a huge conflict in the story, but it was lighthearted and sweet. The poetry in the story worked really well. There are a couple of twist and turns that will leave everyone at the edge of their seats, you will not see them coming. I was pleasantly surprised with the twist and the ending will you wanting for more. If you’re looking for a good romance story filled with lots of chemistry and a great ending, I would highly recommend reading this book!
