🌟 REVIEW! 🌟 Arrange Me by Katy Regnery

Arrange Me by Katy Regnery

Release Date: March 4th 2019 by Katharine Gilliam Regnery
Pages: 250
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

My name is Courtney Jane Salinger...
and I'm sick of games.

Sick of the Friday night bar-scene-cum-meat-market.

Sick of the boy-girl, man-woman, mars-venus, flirtation-without-expectation, game-playing nonsense.

Sick of awful dates and one-night stands, booty calls and guys who don’t call back, mixed messages or NO messages and—and—and...I'm sick of all of it.

I’m done.
I just can't do it anymore.
It's too hard, and worse: little by little, it's making me hard.
It's breaking my heart.

What do I want?
That's easy.

I want a house in suburbia with a white picket fence.
I want babies to buckle into a minivan.
But most of all, I want to be married.
I want a husband.

So I've made an important decision: I'm making my escape from the dating world and the single life.
I've filled out my application on ArrangeMe.com and I'm putting my fate into the hands of experts.

Is it a little scary?
Sure.
I mean, I have no idea who I'll end up with.
After all, I'm planning to marry a complete stranger.

But between you and me?
I can't wait.

Being arranged can't possibly be worse than being single.
Can it?

My Review:

Having read and loved a previous book by the author before, I couldn’t wait to read her newest release, Arrange Me. It has an eye-catching cover and an intriguing synopsis to keep you wanting for more.

In the story we get to meet Courtney Jane Salinger, a twenty-nine-year old successful woman who has done well for herself in her career, but not so much in her love life. She is tired of hopelessly dating men who don’t see eye-to-eye with her in terms with getting married. Courtney pictures herself living in a perfect little house with kids running around and an adoring husband to call her own. With that said, she takes matters into her own hands after watching an ad on tv for the reality show Arrange Me. The ad claims to match her with the perfect husband, all she has to do is pay a fee and fill out a thirty page application in order for the experts to match her properly. Even though everyone around her keeps telling her that she is making a big mistake, Courtney is willing to take the risk if it means finding her soul mate once and for all. But just when her application gets accepted, fate decides to intervene and throw her a bit of curve ball when someone that she knows takes an interest in her and everything around her starts to change. She’ll have to decide if she is willing to wait for him to adjust to the idea of marriage or keep pursuing with the matchmaking service.

I very much liked the concept of the book, it was bit cliche but the author was able to give us a bit of twists and turns to keep us reading until the end. In terms of the characters themselves, I found them both interesting but their chemistry/relationship was a bit rushed for me. Courtney is tired of the same dating game with no idea if she is going to find the one and as she gets older she wants to settle down, which is understanable. She makes a rush decision and reality kicks in at the end when she has to face the consequences of her actions. The dual point-of-views in the story really made it stand out as we got read more about each other separately and what their reason is for the decisions that they make. The ending does end in cliffhanger, since it’s a duology and I’m interested to see how the author gives the characters their happily ever after. If you are a fan of matchmaking tv shows with a twist, then this might just be the right book for you.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
