Genres: Romance, Sports, Young Adult

Two people. One chance to let it all go.

Seeking redemption, Beverly Morgan has spent the last four years building an empire that was someone else's dream. Devoted to her work, a handful of friends, and an array of charities, she’s been able to lock away her heart and convince herself it's dead. After an unthinkable tragedy, Beverly should know by now that a single day can change everything.

She can't run from love forever.

Gavin has it all, a thriving business, phenomenal family, supportive friends, but an hour with Beverly Morgan makes him question his entire life and his own happiness.

She could be exactly what he needs, if she's brave enough to open up again.

{EXCERPT}

I stare into Gavin Reed’s deep blue eyes, which appear unaffected by my attitude to his annoying questions. The donut from earlier churns in my belly.

This handsome, passive-aggressive prick knows about me. He knows about my past, and just like every other jerk, he’s baiting me. I shouldn’t be surprised he knows, but I expected him to be different.

Even so, dialing down the attitude right now is a smart decision. I’m the little company in this room, and he’s the one holding the power and my future. He can help me fulfill her dream and attain the redemption I’ve needed for so long. The redemption I need for Mom, Patrick, and myself.

Gavin pushes away from his desk, his chair scraping against the ugly concrete floor. He stalks toward me and positions himself in front of me, his six-foot, three-inch frame towering over me.

At first, I think he’s trying to intimidate me. I experience the primitive urge to kick him in his shins. I hesitate, though. His eyes are soft, and the tension in my shoulders loosens.

“Look, Miss Morgan, I’m very interested in working with your agency on this project. We’ve heard great things about your company, and we believe your business is the positive change to an industry that’s quickly cheapening itself. Our goal is to appeal and relate to women worldwide. We want more women watching the Olympics, more little girls dreaming about being a professional athlete, and our top priority is to get more girls and women active in sports. The long-term vision is for there to be demand and acceptance for professional women athletes making a living doing what they love and what they’re great at, the same as male athletes.

“I don’t know where this meeting went wrong. But I think it’s best if we take a look at the uniforms, costumes, whatever you want to call them, and then let’s regroup and meet for dinner tonight. It’ll give us both time to gather our thoughts and negotiate in a clear-headed manner.”

AUTHOR BIO:

Ashlynn Cubbison is a goal-oriented, driven woman, who owns and operates four companies with her husband. They have two beautiful sons together, and although her life is chaotic, fun, full of love and never the same each day, somehow she finds room for writing as well.

Growing up Ashlynn struggled with reading. Then, in her sophomore year of high school, a small seed was planted. After acing a literary test, her teacher looked her square in the eye and said “you’ve been selling yourself short all year. I wonder what you could achieve with some effort.” After delving deeper into books, she discovered Pride and Prejudice, and has been an obsessive reader ever since.

Eventually her love of books translated into writing. She hopes to inspire others, especially children, to find their passion as she did.

πŸ”– BLOG TOUR πŸ”– Kiss Me Tonight by Emma Hart {REVIEW}

Kiss Me Tonight by Emma Hart

Release Date: September 24th 2019
Series: Kiss Me #2
Pages: 176
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

What do a wrong number text, a burning building, and a quirky florist have in common?

A hunky firefighter with an extra-large…hosepipe.

In hindsight, I never should have opened that text message. The last thing I needed first thing on a Monday was a picture of some stranger’s, um, eggplant, in my inbox.

I also should have replaced the batteries in my fire alarm, because my Friday night did not need to end with my apartment building going up in flames.

But it’s fine. It’s fine. Everything is fine.

I’m only lying in a hospital bed with more split ends than I’ve ever had, almost all my Earthly possessions have turned to ash, and apparently, they don’t serve wine to patients in this place.
But like I said, it’s fine.

Until he walks in.

The guy who saved my life. My hero. Noah Jacobs.

And the universe is amusing itself at my expense, because the dirty photo I woke up to on Monday?

It’s his.

My Review:

Kiss Me Tonight is the second book in the Kiss Me Series, having read and loved Kiss Me Not (first book) I couldn’t wait to read Reagan’s story and it didn’t disappoint at all. This hilariously witty story will leave you swooning over the characters and wanting for more.

Reagan Wright never expected to start her day by opening a text containing a compromising picture of a certain male anatomy part that leaves her shocked and confused. She is not sure if it was a mistake or not, but texts back letting the person know that he got the wrong person. To which she later gets a reply from her mystery guy apologizing for his mistake. This leads to them texting back and forth, and she soon starts to get to know him. Although she might not meet him in person, Reagan starts to think about her mysterious guy and tells her friends. She never expected fate to do this to her, but when her apartment building is set on fire she promises herself that she if she gets out alive she’ll find who her mystery guy is and ask him out. But what happens when her fantasy of being with a firefighter, who happens to have tattoos and a chihuahua ends up being the same guy who rescues her from the fire and the owner of the compromising picture? Will he feel the same way she feels for him or will her fantasy just be a fantasy in the end?

I loved reading this book! The story was full of witty banter and teasing. It was also incredibly funny, Reagan has absolutely no filter and she is who she is in front of Noah. What makes this sweet is that Noah embraces who she is no matter what. As they find things in common, their chemistry grows and so are their feelings for each other. Her friends are a huge part of her life and we get to see their interactions as well. Told in dual POV, Kiss Me Tonight will have you rooting for the characters until the very end. I would highly recommend checking out the book and any other by the author. I cannot wait to read Ava’s story next. :)

“Hi.”

I glanced over at him, my lips curving. “Hi.”

“You ready?”

“To escape the madhouse? What do you think?”

“That I should put my foot down.”

I winked and clicked my belt into place. “Let’s go. Where are we going?”

Noah pulled away from the curb. “I was going to let you direct me. I haven’t been in town long, like I said, and I definitely haven’t been out for lunch.”

I leaned back in the seat. “Hmm. What do you want to eat?”

“You’re the one breaking out of jail. I’m happy to go wherever you want to.”

“Oh, no. I hate making decisions like this. Do you know how difficult it is to pick somewhere to eat?” I shifted my whole body so I could look at him. “Do you want Chinese? Thai? Steak? Korean? Pizza? Burgers? Caribbean? Mexican? Spanish? French? Italian?”

Noah’s gaze darted my way. “Do you have all those places in Creek Falls?”

“No, but that doesn’t make the decision any easier,” I replied. “Well? Burgers? Pizza? Mexican? Italian? Steak? Or Chinese?”

“I don’t—shit me, I feel like I’m being interrogated by the fucking Government.”

“You may as well be. Pick somewhere and I’ll tell you where to go.”

“I said you can pick.”

“I don’t care. I’ve been everywhere. They’re all good. You’re the new boy in town. Pick somewhere.”

“You’re demanding, do you know that?”

“Yes, Preston—oh, he’s my brother—regularly points out how demanding and difficult I am.” I paused. “If you really want me to pick, I will, but you can’t complain after.”

He turned the blinker on so we’d head in the direction of Main Street. “You just said they’re all good.”

“They are, but it’s not my fault if you feel like pizza and end up with a taco.”

“I can honestly say that I do not care what I eat for lunch as long as it’s edible.”

“Right. Then turn left, then right, and pull into the parking lot next to the liquor store.”

“I see you’re taking us to a reputable location.”

“Oh, no. The liquor store is a pit stop. It just happens to be on the way to the Mexican place I like.”

“I see. So you’re using me for liquor.”

“You’ve met my great-aunt. Damn straight I’m using you for liquor.”

{EXCERPT}

Late Wednesday night, my dad pulled over a swerving car. He figured it might be someone who’d been drinking too much, coming home from a girl’s night out, but found it to be an underaged teenager driving the car. The kid refused to give his license, because he didn’t have one, and when my father asked him to exit the vehicle, he reached in the center console for a gun.

Dad didn’t have a choice but to shoot first.

He doesn’t like talking about it, which is fine, ’cause I don’t like thinking about it too hard.

I didn’t know about it until Friday, when I came home from school and he was sat in front of the TV in regular clothes. His eyes were red and his voice hoarse when he lamented the whole issue to me, explaining how he was put on paid leave until they could verify his story.

When he told me right there, I believed him. Fully. Without a doubt. He’d never hurt a kid. I could see how torn up he was about putting someone in the hospital. My father had cried once in his life, when my mom died, and never again. Not until that day.

Then I found out the kid didn’t have a gun.

Dad swore up and down he did, that he’d seen one. He said he told the kid to put his hands back on the wheel, and when he didn’t, that’s when he’d shot. He was scared for his life, he’d said. He thought of me, what would happen to me if he were to die?

I found it hard to believe some scrawny, fifteen-year-old child could scare my dad. Maybe three years ago, if I’d brought him home as a boyfriend. But even then, he wouldn’t have shot him.

The real reason I found out from social media—he was a black fifteen-year-old kid.

It took people a hot minute to connect the officer who shot a fucking kid was my dad, but when they did, all the hate flooded my way.

“Your dad is a monster!”

“Racist pigs!”

“Hope they all burn in hell.”

And a plethora of other lovely messages. I had grown men threatening me, saying they hoped something horrible happened to me so my dad would know the pain he put this kid’s family through. Some were more drastic than others—those I passed on to him. It was the only way we talked about the incident, reporting actual threats to the department and sending squad cars to school with me.

I wanted to defend my dad. There were so many things I wanted to say, but at the same time, my confidence in him was shot. He could’ve told me right at the start, that he thought the kid had a gun, that he made a mistake, that the kid was black. But he didn’t. He kept most of the story from me and only revealed more news as I stumbled onto it.

Every other sentence out of his mouth was “you can’t trust ‘em” about people of color. How could I not possibly think the outcome would’ve been different if it had been a white boy who’d taken his mom’s car out for a joyride?

Part of me felt like my dad was all those things people said about him, too.

So I don’t think about it. I don’t dwell, or wonder about this kid in the hospital, about the pain his family must be going through. Because my dad is the one person in the entire world I trust with all my life. He works so hard, and he always has my back no matter what the situation. He even got me out of cutting up a frog in biology class sophomore year—who does that?

Deep in my heart, I knew I should be furious with him. I knew I should call him out, but I couldn’t force it. He looked so wounded when his brother went after him, how could I do it, too? How could I turn my back on him when he needed me the most?

I couldn’t.

So I just…

Don’t think about it.

My Review:

All the Way is the second book in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan and it’s one not to be missed. This book was filled with so many deep emotions and chemistry that had me reading non stop until the very end.

At the beginning of the book we get to meet Owen Parrish, a professional hockey player who is known to be a womanizer and not into a committed relationship. But it’s his best friend’s comment that throws him off when she wishes she could like him in that aspect. Having met Becca unexpectedly and now working together has made them a lot closer than any of his other friends. Owen is specially overprotective of her after she tells him what happened to her in college. Ever since then their friendship has been stronger than ever. Yet, this doesn’t stop her from asking him for his help. She is ready to take on the dating scene and since he is only the guy she feels comfortable with, Becca wants his help. He sees Becca as his friend, but the more time they spend together, the more he starts to see her as something more. Now he has to decide if pursuing a relationship with her is worth it or not.

As the administrative assistant to the hockey team’s owner, she is surrounded by attractive hockey players all the time. Yet, Becca can’t seem to be comfortable going out with guys after what happened to her in college. After she survived a brutal attack, she hasn’t been the same and the thought of going out with guys is never-racking. The only guy she has no problem being close to is Owen. When she asks him for his help, she knows that any feelings going forward will be strictly as friends until things get difficult and they aren’t anymore.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading All the Way, the characters were relatable and interesting to read. Both of them have a cause to overcome in the story. Becca has been through a lot and her fear is one that has left her with emotional scars, yet I found her a bit too indecisive at times. But she quickly grew into her own and she became confident. On the other hand, Owen is the overprotective friend that wants to make things right for Becca, that he couldn’t be himself all the way and this was an issue as the two became intimate. Needless to say, as the two were able to be honest about their feelings for one another the story truly took for a swoon worthy ending that I loved. I would highly recommend reading this book and any other books by the author. You will not regret it. :)

Excerpt from The Demon King’s Destiny

Chapter 6

Evelyn lifted her hands to his chest. Bravely. Confidently. Pretending she was both. “I don’t want to wait another two years to see you.”

Marrok tilted his head. His hands lowered to her sides. “As I stated earlier, never again.”

“If you cannot come for me, what do we do?”

“We could try to complete the blood bond. It probably won’t be the same as if we were awake, but it might connect us on this plane, making it easier for me to enter your dreams or for you to summon me.”

“You mean …” Her eyes grew big.

“Blood exchange,” he said at the same time she asked, “Sex?”

His muscles flexed with restraint. The temptation to rip off her dress and take her on the ground was great. Already, her arousal taunted both he and his demon.

He could easily seduce her, but his saatus deserved more from him than a tumble on the grass when they hadn’t seen one another in two years. Handing him her innocence, even in the dreamworld, was something he should cherish.

“I’m not sure you’re ready for both, little mate. Let’s start with one then we’ll see about the other.”

“It wasn’t an offer, Demon.”

His body shook and he didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or take her mouth again and force her to be quiet.

“Very well.” He removed one hand from her side and unsheathed a claw.

Evelyn eyed it warily. “You’re not going to bite me on the neck or something?”

Marrok shook his head. Slowly, seductively, he slid the talon across his lower lip. His dark blood welled to the surface. Evelyn could smell a hint of savory spice and her mouth watered. It should have repelled her, but she found herself leaning towards him.

“Kiss me, Evelyn.”

“What about—”

He cut her off by pressing his mouth to hers. He felt the moment her body relaxed into his and her lips parted to receive his blood kiss. Languidly, his tongue brushed hers before retreating. She chased it with her own, licking at the blood on his bottom lip.

Evelyn sighed, the tangy flavor of his essence was heaven on her tongue. She dipped further into his mouth and accidentally nicked the tip on one of his small fangs hard enough to draw blood.

When their lifeblood mixed, her heart stopped, gripped by the shared power. She felt the presence of another, felt it reach into her chest and draw out her soul.

Marrok felt her panic and shifted his hand to her breast, stroking her hardened nipple through the fabric of her shirt, distracting her back into their kiss and increasing her pulse. His cock strained to be freed but he made no further advance. He would not take her fully. Not yet.

His demon spirit lovingly tasted her soul, connecting them further but not fully merging. He’d been right about things being subdued on this plane. Still, the kiss was explosive and he worried what would happen if and when they really touched.

Evelyn arched into Marrok’s hand, fevered with desire. She rubbed her lower body against his thigh, seeking relief. She felt his other hand drop to her behind and clutch her closer. His mouth drifted to her ear, forcing goosebumps upon her flesh.

“Do you want me to touch you, Evelyn?”

“You are touching me.” Oh, how he was touching her! Her backside. Her breast. Her core was pressed tight to his thigh. She could feel his erection against her belly and for a second she wished she was taller.

“No, little mate. Do you want me to touch you?” His hand abandoned her breast and his knuckles brushed the sensitive apex of her thighs. “Here?” Even through her clothing he could feel the heat of her skin.

“Y-yes,” Evelyn whimpered. Everything in her wanted his touch.

Marrok took her mouth again while simultaneously pulling up the bottom of her long skirt. Normally, he would command her to do it. Either that or destroy the garment.

He wasn’t known for his patience. Yet he believed Evelyn’s lack of experience warranted his seduction. He’d never been with a virgin and he wanted to make sure she was prepared. He would give her whatever she needed, and he would teach her to ask for what she wanted.

He used their bodies to pin the material between them before slowly gliding his fingers along the skin of her leg. He inched leisurely across to her inner thigh, then up.

His fingers touched lace and he thought he’d spend in his trousers. He wanted to drop to his knees and see her underthings. His demon agreed wholeheartedly and Marrok threw him back in his cage.

This was about Evelyn, not about him. Tonight, she’d not be teased. She would be rewarded for her acceptance of their bond.

Marrok cupped her center and her hips jerked. He pressed harder and she did it again. Goddess above, she was responsive.

“Please,” she breathed into his mouth. Her thoughts were muddled, her only focus was soothing the growing ache between her thighs.

Evelyn’s plea was more than he could stand. Marrok used a claw with delicate precision to tear apart the lace. He yanked it from her hips and hastily stuffed it in his pocket. Now that he had full access, he retracted his claws and used his middle finger to stroke her folds.

His mate was wet. For him. He shifted and ground his erection into her upper hip.

He stroked her folds again and then circled her hardened nub. Evelyn’s sharp intake told him all he needed to know, giving away exactly how and where she wanted him most. He repeated the action. Once, twice, three times.

Her body started to tremble and he increased the speed of his hand’s movements. When his finger dipped inside and his thumb pressed on her clitoris, Evelyn broke the kiss and bit into his pectoral. Her muffled yell vibrated across his chest.

Marrok secured her to him with his left arm while his right hand worked to draw out her orgasm. He could feel her spasms against his fingertips and he longed to feel them while he thrust between her legs.

Soon, his demon promised.

She was still coming when she dissolved in his arms, sighing his name.

It was a bad idea from the beginning.

He was my brother's best friend and the definition of unavailable.

But I didn't care.

I had loved him for as long as I could remember.

He was worth the risk. He was worth everything.

But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn't there to catch me.

So I ran.

Four years later, I never expected to see him again.

He was still my brother's best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever.

He looked every bit the bad boy I knew he was, covered in tattoos and a crooked smile.

Guarding my heart from him was top priority because Parker James was where good girls go to die.

Unfortunately for him, I wasn't a good girl anymore.

Her papa must have felt it too, as she watched sweat dribble down his forehead. He reached into his pocket for a handkerchief, mopping up the moisture that coated his skin. "What about her bottom hole?"

"I have not got that far in the exam yet, Mr. Elliott," Doctor Colt said and smiled. "Let us finish one step at a time."

With a gloved finger, he separated her warm lips, and she felt a rush of cool air against her clit. Did he just blow softly over her cunny? She could not tell, lying back, staring up at the ceiling as they stared closely at her quim.

Yes, he had breathed on her clit, of that she was certain as she felt his finger swirl around her pearl. Was he intending to arouse her? Her breathing deepened and her body relaxed as she felt a pulse begin to throb down between her thighs. Oh dear. What was that feeling? The warmth spread through her and as the doctor slipped two gloved fingers inside her pussy, she moaned.

Pushing further inside, he felt around, nodding. "The girl's maidenhead is still intact. Little Gia, will you please roll over for me?"

"Why?" Giana asked as he withdrew his digits, and she whim‐ pered in protest. He tossed his gloves aside and waited until she had assumed the proper position before he put on a new set and gathered additional lubrication.

"When an adult gives you an order, you obey it," the doctor said.
