People call me Ruthless for a reason.
Whether I’m in the court room or in the bedroom, my reputation is well-earned. I’m either working hard, working out, or working my way into some woman's panties. But none of them share my particular kink, and I walk away feeling unsatisfied.
Until I met her.
She’s a friend of a friend, which makes her off-limits in my book. But then temptation had me by the balls and I had her up against a wall. She literally fucked my world off its axis, but it can’t happen again.
My plan was avoidance, but that got blown to shit when my firm hired her as a new junior attorney. Now I’m her boss, and I’m supposed to act like I don’t want to bend her over my desk every five minutes.
But I’ve never held myself back with anything before, so consequences be damned, it’s time to show her how damn good it feels...to be ruthless.
Not having read any other books by the author before, I was really intrigued with the synopsis of this book and of the swoon worthy cover! At the beginning of the book we get to meet Roman, a very successful attorney and a stripper. Though he has the job that he loves, it's his ruthless nature and sexual appetite that often gets him in trouble with the women that he meets. But it is his rule of no messing around with any of his friend's friends that has him on edge, especially when he meets Addison. Their chemistry from the start is one that they can't ignore, they know what their friends are going to think, but working together has them around each other constantly which doesn't help at all. No matter how hard Roman tries to put Addison on his off-limits list, she challenges him like no one has before and that he sets to make her his no matter what.
For Addison being confident is one of her strengths, as a junior attorney for a major law firm she has been used to deal people challenging her all the time. Yet Roman is a different type of challenge that she can't pass, and soon she finds herself flirting with the guy that turns out to be her new boss. Needless to say the more time they send with each other, the more she begins to develop feelings for him that may or may not end up hurting her in the end.
I very much enjoyed just how much chemistry the characters have. They are different yet the same in terms of wanting to challenge one another to get what they want. Although the story had strong moments, I was on the fence with Roman's character in pats of the story. The story as a whole is good, but it didn't wow me as I would have liked. All in all, Ruthless was okay for me, the ending was good and I do think people would really like it. I would still recommend it and I will most definitely be checking out more of the author's works in the future. ;)
