“I remember the first time I saw you.”

Davina chuckled. “I’m sure I was screeching in the halls of the palace in Zhar. My mother hated that I’d been so wild.”

A rumble from Alexios’ chest vibrated against her ear, and she found comfort in the sound.

“No. The first time I laid eyes on you, you were scurrying in the woods, tripping over yourself carrying food, which I’m sure you’d stolen from the kitchens. You were heading to a baby foal you’d discovered under some bramble.”

Davina took a moment to enjoy his face. Lines fanned the corners of his eyes while his dark lashes stretched away from them. He smiled, and his lone dimple made its tiny dent. Her mouth parted. It had been a long time since she’d seen him smile like this. His joy spread through her.

“I remember the foal. I named him Laeb,” she chuckled. “I knew someone was there! I’d stopped to look, but I couldn’t see anyone. It was you?”

“Yes. I was in the woods taking some time to myself. The barracks were loud, and I still struggled with my transition. It was my first time seeing the Queen’s daughter, but I knew instantly who you were.” He buried his hand into her hair at her nape, his thumb lightly caressing her scalp.

“I saw you and knew then that this world was not so bleak. That there is light and beauty capable of vanquishing any darkness. And that a beautiful, rambunctious, young girl who sneaked food for an injured foal, would always have a piece of my heart.”

🌟BOOK BLITZ:🌟 The Demon King’s Destiny by C.A. Worley {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

The Demon King’s Destiny by C.A. Worley

Release Date: February 25th 2019
Series: Fate of Imperium Series #3
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

When Marrok, the Demon King of Sundari, meets his fated mate in the dreamworld, he ignores the pull of the saatus bond. He has no desire to make a life with the female, not with his past being what it is. Unable to deny the bond for long, Marrok accepts his demon spirit’s need for its mate. He plans to use their connection to prevent him from turning rogue, while keeping his heart safely buried in the past.

Since the age of six, Evelyn has been dreaming of the Demon King. When she starts having visions of his past, old betrayals are brought to light, including an ancient brotherhood who has been working against the pair for decades. Knowing Marrok may never love her in the way she loves him, Evelyn chooses to fight for their future anyway. She’ll protect everyone she loves from the insidious group—or die trying.

***The Demon King’s Destiny is the third book in the Fate of Imperium Series. Each book is the story of a different king and his fated mate. While the three books do not have to be read in order, it is highly recommended.

{EXCERPT}

Evelyn lifted her hands to his chest. Bravely. Confidently. Pretending she was both. “I don’t want to wait another two years to see you.”

Marrok tilted his head. His hands lowered to her sides. “As I stated earlier, never again.”

“If you cannot come for me, what do we do?”

“We could try to complete the blood bond. It probably won’t be the same as if we were awake, but it might connect us on this plane, making it easier for me to enter your dreams or for you to summon me.”

“You mean …” Her eyes grew big.

“Blood exchange,” he said at the same time she asked, “Sex?”

His muscles flexed with restraint. The temptation to rip off her dress and take her on the ground was great. Already, her arousal taunted both he and his demon.

He could easily seduce her, but his saatus deserved more from him than a tumble on the grass when they hadn’t seen one another in two years. Handing him her innocence, even in the dreamworld, was something he should cherish.

“I’m not sure you’re ready for both, little mate. Let’s start with one then we’ll see about the other.”

“It wasn’t an offer, Demon.”

His body shook and he didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or take her mouth again and force her to be quiet.

“Very well.” He removed one hand from her side and unsheathed a claw.

Evelyn eyed it warily. “You’re not going to bite me on the neck or something?”

Marrok shook his head. Slowly, seductively, he slid the talon across his lower lip. His dark blood welled to the surface. Evelyn could smell a hint of savory spice and her mouth watered. It should have repelled her, but she found herself leaning towards him.

“Kiss me, Evelyn.”

“What about—”

He cut her off by pressing his mouth to hers. He felt the moment her body relaxed into his and her lips parted to receive his blood kiss. Languidly, his tongue brushed hers before retreating. She chased it with her own, licking at the blood on his bottom lip.

Evelyn sighed, the tangy flavor of his essence was heaven on her tongue. She dipped further into his mouth and accidentally nicked the tip on one of his small fangs hard enough to draw blood.

When their lifeblood mixed, her heart stopped, gripped by the shared power. She felt the presence of another, felt it reach into her chest and draw out her soul.

Marrok felt her panic and shifted his hand to her breast, stroking her hardened nipple through the fabric of her shirt, distracting her back into their kiss and increasing her pulse. His cock strained to be freed but he made no further advance. He would not take her fully. Not yet.

His demon spirit lovingly tasted her soul, connecting them further but not fully merging. He’d been right about things being subdued on this plane. Still, the kiss was explosive and he worried what would happen if and when they really touched.

Evelyn arched into Marrok’s hand, fevered with desire. She rubbed her lower body against his thigh, seeking relief. She felt his other hand drop to her behind and clutch her closer. His mouth drifted to her ear, forcing goosebumps upon her flesh.

“Do you want me to touch you, Evelyn?”

“You are touching me.” Oh, how he was touching her! Her backside. Her breast. Her core was pressed tight to his thigh. She could feel his erection against her belly and for a second she wished she was taller.

“No, little mate. Do you want me to touch you?” His hand abandoned her breast and his knuckles brushed the sensitive apex of her thighs. “Here?” Even through her clothing he could feel the heat of her skin.

“Y-yes,” Evelyn whimpered. Everything in her wanted his touch.

Marrok took her mouth again while simultaneously pulling up the bottom of her long skirt. Normally, he would command her to do it. Either that or destroy the garment.

He wasn’t known for his patience. Yet he believed Evelyn’s lack of experience warranted his seduction. He’d never been with a virgin and he wanted to make sure she was prepared. He would give her whatever she needed, and he would teach her to ask for what she wanted.

He used their bodies to pin the material between them before slowly gliding his fingers along the skin of her leg. He inched leisurely across to her inner thigh, then up.

His fingers touched lace and he thought he’d spend in his trousers. He wanted to drop to his knees and see her underthings. His demon agreed wholeheartedly and Marrok threw him back in his cage.

This was about Evelyn, not about him. Tonight, she’d not be teased. She would be rewarded for her acceptance of their bond.

Marrok cupped her center and her hips jerked. He pressed harder and she did it again. Goddess above, she was responsive.

“Please,” she breathed into his mouth. Her thoughts were muddled, her only focus was soothing the growing ache between her thighs.

Evelyn’s plea was more than he could stand. Marrok used a claw with delicate precision to tear apart the lace. He yanked it from her hips and hastily stuffed it in his pocket. Now that he had full access, he retracted his claws and used his middle finger to stroke her folds.

His mate was wet. For him. He shifted and ground his erection into her upper hip.

He stroked her folds again and then circled her hardened nub. Evelyn’s sharp intake told him all he needed to know, giving away exactly how and where she wanted him most. He repeated the action. Once, twice, three times.

Her body started to tremble and he increased the speed of his hand’s movements. When his finger dipped inside and his thumb pressed on her clitoris, Evelyn broke the kiss and bit into his pectoral. Her muffled yell vibrated across his chest.

Marrok secured her to him with his left arm while his right hand worked to draw out her orgasm. He could feel her spasms against his fingertips and he longed to feel them while he thrust between her legs.

Soon, his demon promised.

She was still coming when she dissolved in his arms, sighing his name.

Stanley turned to her, curious. “Tell me. Where did you see me before? Perhaps on the golf course or having martinis at the club with the mayor?”

Hazel scoffed. “Selling papers, silly.”

Stanley’s face warmed. “Oh. That’s just my cover. I’m actually an international spy.”

“There’s no shame in selling papers,” Hazel said.

“Yeah. Someday I’m going to write for the papers. Then, I’ll work my way up to be a regular columnist. Someday I might even move into radio journalism or write for the newsreels.”

“I bet you’d be good at it,” she said.

That made his chest warm. “Yeah?”

“Sure. You seem smart. And you have a great voice for radio.”

Stanley blushed. It was a good thing it was dark. “So what’s it going to be for you? Ivy League college and marry a prince?”

Hazel let out a ragged sigh. “I hope not. I kinda had my heart set on becoming a pirate.”

Stanley chuckled. “Is that a fact?”

Her eyes twinkled when he looked at her and then her face went serious. “Well, to be honest … I don’t know. There’s what’s expected of me and then … there’s that part of me that’s just mine. The part that’s a wild gypsy or an actress or a world traveling explorer who brings medicine and education to native tribes in exotic places.”

Stanley grinned, liking her more every second. “Sounds like the interesting part.”

Hazel nodded, a little frown tugging down her full lips. “My world is so little, Stanley.”

He supposed it was. Seemed like being a swell would open the world up to you but maybe it didn’t. Maybe it just confined you to Lindell and the “right places.”

“Well it just got bigger, dollface,” he said, gesturing to the large, dark expanse of the park.

“Yeah,” she breathed. “And I can’t see a thing.”

“Just follow me.” Stanley shoved his hands in his pockets, deep in thought.

{EXCERPT}

“I’ve worked security at four other buildings.” Benton held up as many fingers. His nails were short and black. Whether from blood or dirt, Callie didn’t care to guess.

She stood behind him and leaned forward to speak into his ear. Stale cigar stench clogged her nose. “You’ve worked jobs, but haven’t paid the Soul Charmer.”

Benton surged closer to the bar. His whiskey sloshed over the lip of the glass and onto his fingers. He slammed his shoulder backward and shifted to face Callie. The wide, milky eyes and taut tendons in his neck eased. Idiot. He licked the spilled liquor from his fingers. “I have experience, but they still won’t even let me take their exam.”

She gave two fucks about his ability to get a job. “That must suck. You owe the Charmer.”

“What do you mean?”

That’s not how this worked, and he knew it. “Cash or souls.”

“I ain’t got anything on me.”

“How are you paying for that Wild Turkey?”

Benton shot scattered looks in either direction. “It just you?”

It was, and normally she hated that. Her boyfriend Derek typically made these collection calls. He looked the part. Hulking and covered in leather and scars. She hid her wounds on the inside, and wielded dark eyeliner as war paint. Not exactly scary mofo material. Callie needed more from Benton than a simple rented soul, though, and that information need to be acquired alone.

🌟BOOK BLITZ:🌟 Gabe by Giulia Lagomarsino {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

Gabe by Giulia Lagomarsino

Release Date: February 18th 2019
Pages: 252
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Gabe is the 11th book in the Reed Security series. It is suggested they are read in order.

“What’s all this?” Cap asked.
“You asked me to bring dishes.”
“No,” he said slowly. “I asked you to bring a dish.”
“Yeah, and when I asked what kind, you wouldn’t f*&king answer me. You just said enough for everyone. So, I dug through my cabinets and brought every f*&king dish I could find.”
I pointed to all the dishes scattered on the counter. Sinner was laughing at me and Cap was groaning. I just stood there staring at them.
“I don’t get what’s so f*&king funny.”
“A dish, a$$hole. You know, food?” Cap laughed.
“No, a dish is just that, a f*&king dish. If you wanted me to bring food, you should have f*&king asked.”
“I did!” Cap said loudly. “I said that everyone was being asked to bring a dish.”
“Since when does that equate to food? Food is food. A dish is something you put food in.”
“That’s what women call it,” Sinner laughed. “When you go to someone’s house and they ask you to bring a dish, they mean a dish of food.”
“Do I look like a woman to you? Do I look like the type of guy that would know what the f*&k ‘a dish’ is, besides the obvious?”
“Man, if you’re ever gonna get a woman to settle down with, you’re going to have to learn their lingo,” Sinner laughed. “A dish means food, unless it means a dish.”
“Thank you for that, a$$hole. Now it all makes sense.”
He squeezed my shoulder. “No problem. You’ll get the hang of it. It’s really not too hard once you have a few hundred fights.”
“Or you could do what I do and just keep a f*&king list on the fridge,” Cap said.
“Yeah? How many lists are you up to now?” I questioned. “How do you even keep track of what list is for what?”
“It’s pretty simple. I have a list for things I’m supposed to say in certain situations. I have a list of things never to say. I have a list of chores that she expects me to do right away. I have a list of things I can put off without pissing her off too much. And last but not least, I have a list of different looks and phrases, and their meanings.”
“Now that sounds like it would be helpful. Isn’t there some kind of book that women write to let us dumb f*&ks know what the hell they’re thinking?”
Sinner shook his head. “Unfortunately, no. They think we should just ‘know’ this stuff or ‘figure it out’ on our own. Like I have time to sit there and decipher every look and tone in her voice,” he scoffed.

{EXCERPT}

I pulled off my suit, carefully laying it across my bed while Chance rolled his eyes at how careful I was being.

“Stop being a jackass. I don’t want my suit all wrinkled.”

“Yeah, you’re right, because you’re going to need it for your next date, since you’re going to miss this one,” Chance said as he looked at his watch.

“Shut up, fucker.” I finished stripping down until I was just in my boxers. I went to pull on my jeans, but Jackson stopped me. “Whoa, what the fuck are you doing?”

“I’m putting my jeans on.”

He shook his head and took a few steps towards me. “Look, I didn’t want to be the one to have to tell you this, but boxers are out. Don’t you own any boxer briefs?”

“What’s wrong with boxers?”

“Nothing, except yours have fucking dogs on them. Is that really what you want her to see when she pulls down your pants? Oh, look at the cute puppies on your boxers,” Jackson said in a girly voice. “You don’t want the word cute anywhere near your dick.”

“They’ve never been a problem before,” I smirked.

“And yet you’re still single.”

That wiped the smile right off my face. I walked over to my dresser and yanked open the top drawer. “Fine. Do you have a color preference? I have black, red, and gray. Or would you like me to run out to the store and grab a different color?”

“Black, jackass.”

I frowned down at the briefs for a moment. “What about…” I scratched behind my ear as I tried to think of the right word. “Sweatage?”

“Sweatage,” Chance repeated.

“You know.” I motioned down toward my groin.

“Ah, you mean your sweaty ball sack.” He nodded assentingly. “Use cologne.”

“You want me to put fucking cologne on my dick? What the hell am I supposed to do when I take her to the fucking hospital because she’s been poisoned?”

“You don’t fucking spray the whole bottle on you,” Chance said. “It’s just like the ladies do. They put perfume on their pulse points to draw you in. You do the same thing, sort of. Just dab a little on both sides of your dick. If you end up sweating, you have the cologne to block the smell.”

I shook my head and made my way into the bathroom, Chance following closely behind. I stopped and held up my hand, blocking him from entering the bathroom with me. “I think I can handle this on my own.”

Chance backed off, hands up to show he wasn’t coming in with me. I shook my head as I let out a long sigh and opened my medicine cabinet. Pulling out the cologne, I uncapped it and smirked at my favorite scent. On the other hand, sometimes when I sweat, it didn’t smell so good. Then, I would smell worse than just sweat. Putting the cap back on, I put it back in the cabinet. I was just about to close the door when I saw a bottle of women’s perfume that someone had left behind. Pulling it off, I sniffed and inhaled a flowery scent. If it was between smelling like sweat or flowers, I’d take flowers.

Yanking down my boxers, I sprayed a small squirt on each side of my dick. Then I kicked off the boxers and pulled on the briefs. Puffing out my chest, I felt better already. I walked back out into the room and started pulling on my jeans, then my button down.

“Do I smell flowers?” Jackson asked.

I shrugged, not answering him. I buttoned my shirt all the way to the top when Chance stopped me.

“Jesus Christ, it’s like you’ve never dressed yourself before. Undo two buttons. Give her a peek at the tat on your chest.”

I undid two, but you could just barely see the ink. “Why don’t I undo one more?” I undid the third button, but Chance and Jackson both cringed. “What?”

“You look like you’re going to The Roxbury. Now, you’re in douche territory again,” Chance grimaced.

“You said to show her my tat. She can’t see any of it with only two buttons undone.”

“She just needs a glimpse, to leave her wanting to peel your shirt off,” Jackson said.

“You know, I used to be able to dress myself, but then you assholes came in and suddenly I feel like I’m five years old.”
