πŸ”– BLOG TOUR πŸ”– The Daredevil by Dylan Allen {REVIEW + EXCERPT}

The Daredevil by Dylan Allen

Release Date: July 27th 2021
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Dylan Allen comes a new story in her Rivers Wilde series…

“I dare you to let me watch.”

It was the most wicked of propositions.
He was the most devilish of men…
And my soon to be boss.
I’d be crazy to say yes.
And a fool to say no.

Rich, and reckless, - Tyson Wilde is the kind of man I’ve sworn to avoid.
The offer he makes me - no limits, no strings, no regrets - is too good to be true.
On any other night, in any other city, and if he’d been even a fraction less mouthwatering, I might have been able to say no.
But it’s my birthday, I’m in Paris, and the devil holding out his hand to me has a killer smile, wears a suit like it’s his job, and oozes spine-tingling sex appeal.
And despite years of trying to be good, I’m a sinner at heart.

It’s a night I’ll never forget… and always regret.

Because no matter how right our kisses feel,
We’re only pretending to be lovers to land this deal…
It doesn’t matter that he understands me better than anyone ever has -
There are some secrets I will not share.
And lies he’ll never forgive.

Falling in love with Tyson Wilde was a danger I never saw coming,
And it could cost me everything.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

My Review:

The Daredevil by Dylan Allen is a steamy novella in the Rivers Wilde Series. Set in Houston, Texas the story revolves around two families in the town of Rivers Wilde. These two families have power and wealth that has made them rivals for the last thirty years. Now a new generation is coming into power and that’s where this story takes off.

The Wildes are new money in Houston, having built their wealth in restaurants, grocery stores and real estate. Over the years they have made a name of themselves, but it would take Tyson Wilde’s lack of judgment to prevent Wilde World from making businesses with another company. Tyson has always been different from the rest of his siblings, always trying to impress his mom who wasn’t alway around. Yet, he understands that if he wants to lead the company one day, he is going to have to prove that he can put his feelings away or it might cost him everything.

It’s when he doesn’t get the promotion that he was hoping for that has him thinking about moving to Paris. It would take a passionate kiss with Wilde World’s newest star employee to make him rethink about his feelings for her. Knowing that he needs to put distance between them, Tyson moves to Paris and it would take a year later for them to reunite and to have all those feelings come back again. This time he is willing to fight for what he wants, he just needs to prove to Dina that they are the right fit for each other.

I really enjoyed reading The Daredevil, it was informative, steamy and swoon worthy. We have two strong characters who have worked really hard to get to where they are right now and want to prove that they are worthy of their jobs. Yet, they can’t help to fall in love and they soon realize that they can’t always have everything and they will have decide if it’s worth giving up on their dream careers or a future together. I haven’t read he rest of the series, but I cannot wait to read it after reading this book. The ending fit the characters really well and I would highly recommend checking it out! :)

{EXCERPT}

I know she’s been going through a tough divorce, but I’ve never seen her anything other than energetic, snarky, or hyper focused at work. I don’t know what to do with an emotional crying Dina. So I do what I’d want if I was feeling bad enough to cry in front of someone. I wrap an arm around her and run a soothing hand over her back. She presses her face into my shoulder, and her hair tickles my cheek and my neck. It smells like fruit, and I want to bury my face in it.

She pulls away and saves me from embarrassing myself. “I’m sorry I cried all over you. I’m fine,” she says in a weepy, small voice.

I push her hair back from her face and smile. “It’s okay to cry. Even the strongest people need a soft place to land every once in a while.”

“It’s the alcohol, I had too much,” she protests.

“I didn’t have enough,” I confess with a wry smile.

She pats my chest as if to console me. “Well, I’m glad because if you did, who would carry me upstairs to bed?”

“This house doesn’t have stairs,” I remind her with a laugh.

“Then it’s your lucky day. This ass is as heavy as it looks.” She smiles and drops her head back onto my shoulder and closes her eyes.

“Are you asleep?” I ask after a full minute of listening to her deep breathing.

“No, I’m smelling you.”

My burst of surprised laughter jostles us both. “Smelling me?”

“Mmm-hmm, I knew you’d smell this good.”

“You’ve thought about the way I smell?” I ask, even though I shouldn’t.

“Oh, yeah, but it’s much better than my imagination.” She presses the cold tip of her nose into my neck and sniffs loudly. “I’m mad I waited so long to do this,” she says.

“How long have you been waiting?”

She lifts her head from my shirt. Her eyes are still wet but aren’t sad as she looks up into my face with a light in her eyes that I’ve never seen before. “Since the first time I saw you.”

“You’re drunk. You don’t mean it.” I laugh, but it’s thin and false. The air around us seems to thicken, and my eyes are riveted to that luscious, sweet, hot mouth of hers.

“You know I do. And I know you want me, too. I’ve seen the way you watch me.”

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Private Player by Louise Bay

Private Player by Louise Bay

Release Date: July 27th 2021
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

The first time I meet Madison Shore, I’m greeted by her knickers. She’s upside down and trying to untangle herself from my chair at a wedding.

I get to see a whole lot more of her later that night.

The second time I meet Madison Shore is in my London office. Turns out she’s a journalist writing an article about me. To keep control of my company, I need to convince people I’m more serious about business than my playboy reputation suggests. Madison holds my future in her hands.

Now I just need to convince the woman I took to bed on Saturday night that I'm not the player everyone thinks I am.

Private Player is stand-alone novel with brand new characters that have never been seen in any previous books.

My Review:

Not having read other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Private Player. Needless to say, Louise Bay delivers a sizzling romance filled with steamy swoon worthy moments to keep you reading until the very end.

While Nathan Cove should have been enjoying the wedding of one of his closest friends, he is anxiously waiting to hear from Gretel, who handles his PR. The Sunday Mercury intends to publish a story about him that could damage his career and possibly get him fired by the board he’d created. As the youngest CEO the FTSE 100 has ever seen, Nathan has accumulated a lot of success and is often scrutinized by the media when it comes to his private life.

It only took one photo of him with a married woman to have the media calling him a playboy and a cheater. Now he has to act fast before he loses the company he worked so hard to make a success. Gretel sets him him up with a journalist from the Post, to have an all-access pass to him and he agrees. Then Madison Shore comes into his life, both finding themselves sitting right next to each other at the reception. Neither of them particularly loves weddings, but he finds himself charmed by her beauty and wit. They have instant chemistry and they end up having a magical one-night stand. Parting ways was difficult than he realized, but he is in no position to have an actual relationship. What Nathan wasn’t prepared for was to see Madison again under different circumstances, she is the journalist that Gretel set up him up with. Now he has to convince her that he is not what the media portrayed him to be while also trying to keep his growing feelings for her to himself.

As a journalist, Madison Shore loves to immerse herself in a subject and getting to know people in a deeper level, to get under their skin or find out what makes them tick. It’s her dream to get a job at the Post and when she gets the chance to cover for a writer there she is excited to prove that she can deliver the type of stories that they are looking for. This is her chance to prove that she can do more than just write for a gossip column. It would take a wardrobe malfunction to change the course of her life forever. Madison has heard all about the rich CEO who is constantly all over newspapers, but getting to know Nathan at the wedding gives her a new perspective of him. Their one-night stand should have been put in the past, but life had other plans and she ends up being assigned to write a profile story on Nathan. As the two spend more time together, the more she starts to see and understand a whole new side of Nathan that the public doesn’t see, but there is something that she isn’t telling him and that could threaten their future together.

I enjoyed reading Private Player, it was engaging and sweet to read. We have two characters who have a sizzling attraction toward each other and neither of them expect to see one another again until they do. Both of them are trying to prove themselves, that they can fulfill their dreams and make those closest to them proud. But there is a lot more to Nathan than what Madison originally thought and vice versa. As the two begin to lean on each other, they soon find themselves trying to overcome obstacles coming their way. All in all, the ending was very fitting for the characters and if you love a good steamy billionaire romance that I would highly recommend checking this one out! :)

{EXCERPT}

I make my way back to the counter and hear the door open as someone enters. When I glance up, I see that it’s Sevyn and she looks like she just stepped off the runway. She is dressed in a black jumpsuit with a Gucci belt cinched around her waist, her deep red curls frame her face, and she carries a black clutch in her hand. She waves when she sees me. “I was worried I would miss you! I took a little longer than I anticipated to get ready.” She twirls on the spot.

“You look drop dead gorgeous. Zane is going to eat you up!” I say.

“You weren’t lying, this shop is a whole vibe,” she remarks as she looks around.

The coffee shop has an industrial design with warm, rich colors throughout. There is a stage for performances, coffee tables in the center of the shop, and then plush chairs are scattered throughout. One of the walls has a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf that is stacked with a variety of books. Ava and West did a good job creating a space where you can relax and socialize.

“It really is. Did you want me to make you something?” I ask as I walk behind the counter and wash my hands.

Sevyn scrunches up her face as she studies the menu behind me. “Mmm… let me get the house blend, please.”

“Alright, coming right up.” I busy myself with making the shots. I’m listening to Sevyn talk when I look up and the air is stolen from my lungs. A guy strides in and every inch of his rich copper brown skin that I can see is adorned with tattoos. My eyes slowly rake up his hands and arms emblazoned with the most intricate ink. I imagine tracing each one with my fingertips. Ink covers the piece of chest exposed at the V-neck of his shirt that is pulled tautly over his broad shoulders. They continue to coil around his neck and abruptly stop at his sharp jawline. There are no tattoos on his face and his lips are plump. They look soft enough to kiss. Our eyes lock onto one another; his are pensive and remind me of embers in a fire.

Sevyn continues talking to me, but I don’t hear her. All noise is drowned out as we continue to look into one another’s eyes. I tear my gaze away when the shot of coffee I am holding spills over the sides of the shot glass and onto my finger. “Shit,” I hiss pulling my hand away.

“Are you okay?” Sevyn asks.

“I’m alright,” I say while observing my fingers that are now beginning to turn red. “Just got a little distracted is all.” The guy who is the source of my distraction chuckles and heat creeps up my neck.

Sevyn turns her attention to him. “Well, well, well, nice of you to finally arrive.”

I try not to stare between them, but he is hard not to look at. I wonder if they’re related. His gaze moves to Sev, and I feel ridiculous for being disappointed his eyes are no longer on me.

“You act like you didn’t just see me this past weekend.” His voice is smooth and deep.

πŸ”– BLOG TOUR πŸ”– Fallen Rose by Amelia Wilde {REVIEW}

Fallen Rose by Amelia Wilde

Release Date: July 20th 2021 by Dangerous Press
Pages: 350
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Dark, Retelling

Leo Morelli has lost everything.

His safety. His sanity. But worse than that, the woman he loves. He will destroy Bishop’s Landing to get her back, even if it means becoming the monster she fears.

The entire city will feel his wrath.

Haley Constantine loves her beast, but she can’t walk away from her family. They need her now more than ever. It will take more than violence to face these enemies. It will take sacrifice.

Can she give up the man she loves to save him?

My Review:

Fallen Rose, the anticipated conclusion to the Beauty and the Beast Trilogy is finally here! Wilde delivers a roller coaster ending that’s darker than ever before and filled twists and turns.

After being betrayed by her own brother, Haley Constantine wakes up in her aunt Caroline’s house. She is captive yet again and this time getting out of her aunt’s grasp won’t be easy. Caroline now holds the upper hand and she is ready to do whatever it take for Haley to hate Leo once and for all. They might have the same last name, but Haley is about to find out just how far her family is able to take things in order to keep their prestigious name intact. Meanwhile, Leo Morelli is about to personify the Beast of Bishop’s Landing in order to get Haley back. He is furious with the way her own family has turned on her and is willing to fight to the woman he loves before it’s too late.

I enjoyed reading Fallen Rose, we see the characters face new challenges as they struggle to save their relationship from falling apart. My favorite part of the book and what made it that much better was Leo’s story. From day one we got to see Leo go from controlling and dangerous beast to a hero who has been deeply hurt growing up. He is the caretaker among his siblings and he wants to protect them from any danger. Once he realizes that Haley is perfect for him, he is willing to go through any lengths to make sure she is save from her family. He makes the ultimate sacrifice that doesn’t pan out the way he hopes, but it changes the dynamic between the Constantines and the Morellis. In the end we see the characters get closure and close a chapter in their lives to start a new beginning. All in all, the story had a good mixture of action, a bit of mystery, lots of steamy scenes and a romantic ending that I would highly recommend checking out! :)

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Serves Me Wright by K.A. Linde

Serves Me Wright by K.A. Linde

Release Date: July 20th 2021
Series: Wright #9
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

A new stand alone fake relationship romance set in the world of the Wrights from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I never thought I’d say yes to a fake date.

Let alone with Julian Wright.

But I’m stuck attending my perfect brother’s doctoral graduation, and I can’t suffer through another round of parental disappointment. Julian has to go to a charity function he planned with his ex-girlfriend. We both need a date.

Yes, we shared one kiss in a darkened office to make his ex jealous. But it wasn’t real. Was it?

I’m sure I can get through this. Until we get to the house and there’s only one bed.

I’ve pined for Julian for three long years. More than my body is on the line...I need to guard my heart.

Because if I get hurt in our fake relationship, then it serves me Wright.

My Review:

K.A. Linde is back with yet another swoon worthy story in her Wright Series. Serves Me Wright is a fake dating friends-to-lovers romance that’s emotional, steamy and will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Jennifer Gibson, a photographer working for the Wright Vineyard. After working for the past few years as a wedding and elopement travel photographer, Jennifer was happy to accept a job that won’t have her constantly gone every weekend. But no matter how many places she has traveled to or how many awards she has won, Jennifer hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to dating or having the best relationship with her mom. It’s after the last date that she went on that she decides not to date for a while and focus on her career. Yet, the minute her mom asks her to attend her brother’s graduation, Jennifer realizes that she’ll be alone at the mercy of her mom’s constant comments about her job.

That’s when Julian Wright, her boss and friend offers to be her date for her brother’s graduation if she attends a charity function gala with him in a month. Jennifer has been attracted to Julian since they met 3 years ago and ever since then she has always had feelings for him. But she doesn’t think he shares the same feelings and decides not to do anything about it. Until they end up going to her brother’s graduation and they happen to share the same bed that things quickly change. The more time they spend together, the more she realizes that she is falling for a guy that just as quickly can break her heart.

After living in Vancouver, Julian Wright decides to move to Lubbock to be with his mom and get to know the rest of his family. The Wright name holds a lot of power in Lubbock, Texas and he is excited to venture on his own and opens up the Wright Vineyard. He is proud of working on something he loves, but coming from a well-respected family puts pressure on how successful his business needs to be. To top it all of, his ex does not want to leave him alone and insists on getting him back. To make sure his ex stay away, Julian needs a date for the upcoming gala where he will be networking and hopes to get the deal he is hoping to get. So there is no surprise when he hears that Jennifer needs a date for her brother’s graduation that he offers to go with her, in exchange for her to accompany him to the gala as his fake girlfriend. But it’s along the way that he starts to wish that they could be in an actual relationship. Jennifer is a hard worker, kind and beautiful. He is truly falling for her, but it would only take a mistake on his part to put their relationship in jeopardy.

I’m a huge fan of the Wright Series, Linde has managed to create a series filled with lovable and relatable characters. Serves Me Wright was no different, we get to go on journey as the characters go through a series of changes and ultimately find their purpose. It has taken a while for Jennifer to finally find what she loves to do and for her parents to accept that photography is an actual job. She wishes she could stand up for herself and not let their comments bring her down. Whereas, Julian has been through a lot when it comes to the health of his mom and now having his dad back in his life is not exactly helping. The two characters balance each other out and it’s when they are together that they are able to help one another. Until they have to go through yet another obstacle that can ruin their future, that they have to decide if their relationship is worth the shot or not. The ending was really cute and if you love a good fake dating romance than this is the right for you.! :)

HIDDEN BEAUTY is the second book in the Beauty and the Beast trilogy from USA Today bestselling author Amelia Wilde.

My Review:

Hidden Beast is the second book in the Beauty and the Beast Trilogy that’s emotional, steamy and a total page-turner to keep you at the edge of your seat.

After Secret Beast ends in such a twist of the events, Hidden Beast picks up right where the first book lefts off. Leo Morelli has been shot and as he is fighting for his life, Leo is tormented by his past as he recalls the events that led to him wanting his revenge against the Contantines in the first place. Now more than ever Leo will have to keep Haley safe, even if it means keeping her as his prisoner. Growing close to her has become dangerous, but it’s too late to keep his feelings to himself. Meanwhile, as Haley starts to resent Leo for keeping her captive in his castle, she starts to see a new side of him that keeps her wanting more. Yet, it’s when new obstacles come their way that she will have to make a choice between her family or the man she has grown to love.

I throughly enjoyed reading Hidden Beast, the pace of this book was quicker and steamier! We get to see the characters truly spend more time with each other and we also get to learn more about Leo’s past. As he battles with past trauma, Haley is fighting for him and their future. She is beginning to see just how much her family has done to the Morellis and she struggles to choose between the two of them. It does end with another cliffhanger and I will be anxiously waiting to read the conclusion to this trilogy! :)

Praise for Amelia Wilde's King of Shadows trilogy...

"Breathtaking, intense, and scorching hot, KING OF SHADOWS is the modern myth I've been waiting for." –New York Times Bestselling Author Skye Warren

"Summer Queen is a sexy shot of antihero goodness—this is the kinky, delicious retelling of the year!" –Sierra Simone, USA Today bestselling author

“Amelia Wilde has proven once again why she is my mortal enemy—I would kill to have written this dark, sensuous retelling of Persephone’s journey to becoming Queen of the Underworld.” –Kayti McGee, USA Today bestselling author

My Review:

From the eye catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, I did not what to expect before reading Secret Beast. Needless to say, Amelia Wilde quickly grabbed my attention with this much darker retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Prepare to go on a journey full of revenge, shocking secrets and a sensuous romance that will hook you from beginning to end.

Haley might look like a Constantine and have the name, but she does not have the Constantine money. Her family has never cared about the flashy things and power that comes with being part of a very powerful family. But even they know that they can’t trust anyone and that includes the Morellis. They are supposed to be evil and they hate her family. Yet, it’s when her dad, the inventor, tells her and her bother that he has an idea that is going to change the world that they get worried.

Her dad needs someone to back him up financially and they are shocked to hear that he is going to meet with a Morelli. Haley cannot let her dad put himself in danger, so when she finds out that he is going to meet Leo Morelli, she rushes out to meet him before it’s too late. Nothing could have prepared her for what was going to happen next, Leo is like no one she’s ever met before and she is about to make a deal with the beast himself in order to null the contract her dad signed with him. Haley never meant to lose her heart to him, but the more time they spend together, the more she realizes that beneath the beast might just be the love of her life.

Leo Morelli is known as the Beast of Bishop’s Landing for being unpredictable and dangerous. Yet, rumors of his uncontrollable temper have largely been exaggerated. He is protective over his family and doesn’t like the Constantines. So when he gets the chance to lure one of them into singing a contract with him, Leo takes the opportunity as it is all part of the big plan to make the Constantines pay for what they’ve done to him and his family. He is surprised to find out that Haley is not like the rest of her family. She is tough, smart and doesn’t see him the way the rest of her family does. She wants to understand who he is and Leo finds himself unable to let her go. She has captivated him and soon he has to decide if he is strong enough to let her go before it’s too late.

I enjoyed reading Secret Beast, the storyline is very reminiscing of the original Beauty and the Beast story with a much darker tone. We have two characters that should be enemies, but end up against all odds falling for each other. But just when things were starting to pick up with them, a sudden change of events happen and they have to face their ultimate obstacle. One that is about to bring apart and that’s exactly how the first book ends, with a cliffhanger. So much happens in the book, from Leo’s past coming back to haunt him to Haley wanting to do anything in order to protect her family. This story will leave you wanting to read the next book right away. I would highly recommend it if you enjoy much darker retellings with a twist. :)

That he would be rather be hers than anything else?

My Review:

Melanie Moreland knows how to deliver emotionally packed stories that will hook you from beginning to end and Finding Ronan’s Heart did exactly that. As the second book in the Vested Interest: ABC Corp series, this book will pull at your heartstrings and never let go.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Ronan Callaghan, an architect working for ABC Corp, a division of BAM that specializes in business and land development. Like many of his extended family members who work for the company, Ronan works very closely with his two other brothers. As the eldest triplet, he has always looked after Jeremy and Paul. Yet, even though they are always seen as part of a group, they are very different. Ronan is the quieter and worrier one, always putting his siblings before him. So when his brothers tell him that they are dating and going off to start their lives, he doesn’t know how to react. They are always been together, but they are now going their separate ways.

As Ronan prepares to move to Port Albany permanently, he wasn’t expecting to meet Beth Jones the minute he walks into the diner across from the gym he frequents. She is adorable and very beautiful. It’s the strong connection that they have in that instant that suddenly makes him afraid of not seeing her anymore. Beth is a breath of fresh air, she is the only one at the moment that sees him for who he is, not as part of the triplets nor as the son of the rich business tycoon. As the two start to get to know each other, Ronan finds himself getting more involved with Beth and her family. She gives him a purpose, but there are things that Beth doesn’t know about him that could damage their future if he doesn’t come clean before it’s too late.

As a twenty-five year old, Beth Jones has a lot to juggle in her life. Working long hours at the diner, Nifty Fifty, and going to school keeps her busy. She has no time to date, but when a good looking stranger walks into the diner, he immediately catches her attention. He is tall, broad and she assumes that he works at the gym. Ronan makes her feels safe and she doubts that he’ll ever like someone like her, an overworked waitress who probably isn’t his type. Needless to say, he keeps coming back and the more time they spend together, the more she starts to develop feelings for him. Yet, Beth needs to see if Ronan is willing to accept all that comes with her or risk losing her heart once again.

I absolutely loved reading Finding Ronan’s Heart! I am a huge fan of Moreland’s Vested Interest series and now this new generation has me giddy with excitement every time she releases a new book. What I love about every single book is that the author give each book it’s own character and Finding Ronan felt distinct from the rest of the series and completely stole my heart. Ronan is lovable and kind. He truly wants to make things better for Beth and look after her when she hasn’t had that before. Beth is not used to being taken care of and she is apprehensive at the beginning, until Ronan starts to warm up to her heart. There is so much that happens in the book and we get to see characters from previous books make appearances throughout the story. The ending is what had me in tears, it was just PERFECT. I cannot recommend this book enough as well as the rest of the series, you will not regret it! :)

πŸ”– RELEASE BLAST πŸ”– Just One Scandal by Carly Phillips {REVIEW}

Just One Scandal by Carly Phillips

Release Date: July 6th 2021 by CP Publishing
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

A jilted bride. Her brother’s ex-buddy. An affair would be crazy…right?

Chloe Kingston’s life is exactly how she needs it: safe and stable. Right up until her reliable, low-risk fiancΓ© jilts her on their fairy-tale wedding day. As she works her way through the reception champagne—and wonders where she’s going to live—she stumbles into her brother Linc’s ex-best friend.

If only Beckett Daniels were hideous. But he’s not. He’s everything her erstwhile groom was not. Hot. Sexy. Dangerous. And she’s just buzzed enough to want all that Greek-god gorgeousness to show her the kind of fun she’s been missing.

Beck thrives on calculated risks, but taking advantage of Linc’s little sister isn’t one of them. What he can do is haul her tipsy, tulle-clad, tempting little butt to the bridal suite to sleep it off. Then move her into his spare room—which has the satisfying side effect of driving her brother crazy.

They can’t remain platonic roommates for long. Not when the sexual attraction sizzles out of control. But when tragedy threatens Beck, pain from his past reminds them both that life doesn’t come without risks…and this time, they’re gambling with their hearts.

My Review:

Carly Phillips delivers a sizzling second chance romance in Just One Scandal, the second book in The Kingston Family series, that’s filled with swoon worthy moments to keep you rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Chloe Kingston who is in her hotel suite trying to get drunk after receiving a life changing text from her now ex-fiance. After working so hard to lead a safe and stable life, Chloe just got ditched at the altar on what would have been one of the best days of her life. While she is devastated, Chloe wants to enjoy her reception and let go of her worries for one night with her friends. Until she stumbles upon Beckett Daniels, one of her brothers’ ex best friend.

It’s been a while since she last saw him and she invites him to her reception. Chloe is clearly drunk, but Beck is easy to talk to and she finds herself telling him about what she truly wants to do with her life and he is encouraging. With no place to live at the moment, Beck offers her to stay with him for a little while. She accepts, little did she know that her life was about to take yet another turn of events. It’s the more time they spend together that makes Chloe realize just how important Beck is in her life, but she is not sure if she is willing to give out her heart and get hurt again.

Beckett Daniels has worked really hard to get to where he is in life, wealthy and successful. He has a cutthroat reputation when it comes to the real state business, so when he crosses paths with Chloe Kingston, Beck is aware of the job that she does for her brother, Linc. He used to be best friends with Linc when they were in college, but something happened that made them not be in the best terms. Now they are business competitors and wants nothing to do with him. Yet, there is something about Chloe that he can’t seem to resists. She is smart, talented and beautiful. There is part of him that is protective of her when she tells him what her ex did and he offers her to stay with him until she is ready to move out on her own. It’s clear that they are attracted to each other, but he can’t fall in love with her. He can’t lose another person dear to his heart and refuses to let Chloe in.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Just One Scandal, the story itself is not that long, but packs a punch. It’s romantic, steamy and emotional. We have two characters that have different reasons for not wanting to fall in love, but end up falling for each other unexpectedly. They both have been hurt in the past and they’re able to help each other overcome those obstacles in order to have a future together. I really liked their chemistry and the relationships that they have with the rest of the characters. The ending was sweet and perfect for their story. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, would highly recommend checking out Just One Scandal. You will not regret it! :)
