🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Reckless by Abby Brooks

Reckless by Abby Brooks

Release Date: January 31st 2022 by Little Bird Publishing, LLC
Series: Wildrose Landing #3
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

I thought the proposal was a joke at first. You would too, given the circumstances. Anyone would.

When my brother’s best friend asks me to marry him—right after we fell into bed together!—it’s not for love.

And it’s certainly not because he has his eyes set on a happily ever after.

Oh no.

He wants me to be the future Mrs. Malone because he’s in a bind and “kind of needs a wife.”

But I’ve been head-over-heels, stupid-in-the-brain in love with the guy since I was sixteen. SIXTEEN.

While he’s talking about a business proposal, I’m staring at a dream come true.

Obviously, I should walk away from this crazy idea with my head held high, but when it comes to Jude, I’m weak. I always have been.

Plus, after our drunken rendezvous the night of my brother’s wedding, I’ve got some very real reasons to say yes.

I can get through this with my heart intact…can’t I?

My Review:

Not having read any other books by Abby Brooks before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Reckless. Needless to say, this marriage of convenience romance did not disappoint at all.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Isabelle Prescott “Izzy,” owner of Sweet Stuff, a candy store in her small town. She is celebrating the marriage of her older brother Alex and friend Evie. As the maid of honor, Izzy gets paired up with her brother’s best friend, Jude Malone. The man she has been attracted to and in love with since she was sixteen. Over the years, Izzy has tried to put distance between them even though they share the same group of friends, in hopes of moving on one day. But that soon changes when Jude starts seeing her in a new way during the reception, they dance, kiss and end up spending the night together.

Then out of nowhere he asks her to be his wife, at first she think he is joking, but he isn’t and then she gets mad for making her seem like a joke to him. Izzy thought that whoever she married would be for love and it’s clear that Jude is not in love with her. Yet, it’s when he finally tells her why he needs a wife that Izzy finally gives in without realizing just how much her life is about to change forever. Things are suddenly not what they seem and that fantasy that she formed all those years ago with Jude might just be that and nothing else.

Jude Malone never intended to ask Izzy to marry him right after spending the night together. She deserves more than that and he knows that he messed up. But he is in need of a wife and he will do anything to erase his father’s legacy by doing good to those he hurt the most. It’s for that reason that Jude didn’t think twice about asking Izzy to help him as he has always liked her growing up. There were many reasons why they couldn’t be together back then and now his life is about to get more complicated. It’s hard for him to open up about his past, but the more time they spend together, the more he starts to fall in love with her. Then a sudden change of events threaten their chance at a relationship and he has to fight for her before it’s too late.

I really enjoyed reading Reckless, it’s evident from the beginning that the characters have great chemistry. It was a rollercoaster of emotions to see them go through a series of events as they got used to being married. It has always been Izzy’s dream to be with Jude, but she realizes that in reality things might be a little different than what she expected them to be. I love the secondary characters as well, they have a strong group of friends who are always there no matter what. Although there were times when I felt a little frustrated with the characters for the bit of miscommunication between them, they were still able to pull through and make things better for them at the end. The epilogue is sweet and I cannot wait to read more of the author in the future. :)

🔖 REVIEW 🔖 Dating the Duke by Emma Hart

Dating the Duke by Emma Hart

Release Date: January 18th 2022
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Humor

A duke and a writer walk into a bar, and the barman says—never mind. They’re in the library, and they’re not wearing any clothes. Oops.

My name is Adelaide Astley, and if there was anything remotely exciting about me to tell you, I would.

Sure, my uncle is the Duke of Leicester, and my mother bucked family tradition to marry “below” her and open a hotel, but I’m nothing but an aspiring author with a Tudor era obsession.

Oh, and I’m spending the summer tutoring the daughter of the current Duke of Worcester—who happens to be a regular in my highly inappropriate midnight dreams.

Thirty-year-old Alexander Winthrop-Bentley is so not my type, but hours of chess games and arguments over Tudor dynasties mean we’re thrown together more often than we should be. And when he shares with me that he needs a date for a charitable event, my mouth betrays me by offering myself up for the evening.

How I find myself naked in the library is another matter entirely. Ahem.

When the society papers declare us an item, neither of us have the heart to tell our families the truth. Only my twin sister and best friend know the truth, but they both agree we need to keep up the charade, even if only for the summer.

But when the end of August comes and my return home beckons, I have to ask myself a question.

Is it only his daughter who’s stolen my heart, or has Alexander done the very same thing?

Available Now in KU

My Review:

Emma Hart has outdone herself with her latest release, Dating the Duke, the second book in The Aristocrat Diaries Series. This incredibly witty, charming and hilarious romance between a writer and a duke will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

At the beginning we are introduced to Adelaide Astley, a writer who is tutoring the Duke of Worcester’s daughter for the summer. Even though her uncle is the Duke of Leicester, Bentley Manor is close to a castle than a manor house. Rich with so much history that she can’t wait to dive into as she tutors ten-year old Olympia. But it’s Alexander who keeps appearing in her dreams, even though he is her boss, she can’t stop being attracted to the single dad. He is attractive and incredibly kind to her. Adelaide has seen how he treats his staff as part of the family and she likes that about him. They also playfully banter over Tudor history and a good game of chess. Yet, she sees how everyone around him wants to set him up and offers to be his plus-one to a charity event without realizing just how much their lives were about to change forever. Now they are front news of in the society pages who have labeled them as a couple and they agree to pretend for a short while. But pretending soon turns into so much more and Adelaide has to decide if she is willing to put her heart on the line if only just for the summer is worth it or not.

As the Duke of Worcester, Alexander has a lot on his plate when it comes to his life and he has no intention of pursuing a romantic relationship as Olympia is his top priority. It’s because of that, that he hires a tutor for summer so that his daughter gets some extra guidance before she actually starts school. But hiring Adelaide has started to give him second thoughts about what he truly wants and as the two start to spend more time together, the more fond of her he becomes. Everything changes when the society pages labeled them as a couple and to prevent the press from bothering them, they both agree to be in a relationship for the summer. Soon all the stolen kisses start to feel real and being near her begins to feel like home. They are both playing a dangerous game when it comes to keeping their hearts intact, but when he realizes just much he has fallen for her, Alexander will have to convince her to them a change before it’s too late.

I absolutely loved reading Dating the Duke, it was highly entertaining and romantic. Hart did a great job transporting me to the setting of the book with her writing. I fell in love with the characters themselves, their chemistry is instant and they are able to develop a great friendship as well. They know that their time is limited and they are trying to not get their hearts involved because of that. Alexander’s mom made the book much more fun, she truly had me laughing out-loud. Olympia was a sweetheart, following on her grandmother’s footsteps when it comes to having pets in the house. The ending was emotional and perfect. I can’t believe their story is over, but we do get a glimpse of the next book in the series in the epilogue and I cannot wait to read Eva’s story next!

{EXCERPT}

“Why don’t you regret it?” Adelaide stalked back over to me and looked down at me. “Kissing me. Why the bloody hell can’t you regret it?”

I jerked around to look at her. “Because I don’t. Would you prefer if I lied to you?”

“No. Yes. No!” She threw her hands out. “Oh, I don’t know! Why doesn’t that matter? Why couldn’t you just say that you did? I’d never know if it was a lie!”

“Why does it matter that I didn’t lie?” I asked, raising my eyebrows. “You’re the one who said our relationship can never progress past friendship or attraction.”

“I—” She stopped, swallowing hard.

“Well?”

“It doesn’t matter,” she said, running one hand through her dark hair. “It’s fine. Forget I mentioned it.”

“All right, then.” I turned my attention back to the window.

“All right, then? That’s it? That’s all you’re going to say?”

“I’m trying to respect your wishes, Adelaide! What the bloody hell do you want me to say?” I put down the mug and stood up to face her. “I’m not going to lie to you, and that’s the end of the matter. I respect you far too much to lie to you.”

“I wish you would have! Because now this is complicated.” She flapped her hands between us. “And it was easier an hour ago when I’d convinced myself that you were ignoring me because you regretted what happened.”

“I don’t know what I can say to change that,” I replied, holding out my own hands. “By all means, feel free to re-convince yourself of that if that makes you feel better.”

“Re-convince myself? I can’t do that!” She buried her face in her hands for a second before dropping them. “All I’m going to do is go upstairs knowing that you wanted to kiss me and because you won’t lie about it, you probably want to do it again, and all that’s going to happen from there is me going to sleep to have another bloody stupid dirty dream that’ll never happen, and—”

“You’ll do what?” My lips twitched to one side.

Adelaide froze. Although she didn’t move, her cheeks flushed a flaming red.

“Adelaide.”

“Nothing,” she said quickly, taking a step back. “Nothing.”

“Adelaide, have you been having dirty dreams about me?”

“No. Absolutely not.”

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Just One Spark by Carly Phillips

Just One Spark by Carly Phillips

Release Date: January 18th 2022 by CP Publishing
Pages: 215
Genres: Contemporary, Romance

He’s a playboy rock star living the rock and roll dream...

Until a very real baby scare threatens to bring it all crashing down.

Dash Kingston has learned his lesson and knows his hard-partying lifestyle needs to change. To clean up his playboy image, he needs a fake girlfriend.

There’s just one problem: the perfect woman for the job is a gorgeous blonde who once aroused not just his body but his emotions, sending him running. And leaving her to wake up alone.

For the band’s sake, Cassidy Forrester agrees to play the girlfriend role, but she’s not going to fall for Dash’s charm or sex appeal ever again.

Except this Dash Kingston swears he’s a changed man, and he’s out to win Cassidy over - for good. But only a fool would make the same mistake twice, and Cassidy refuses to let their spark burn her a second time.

My Review:

The rock star vibes are all over Just One Spark, the fourth book in The Kingston Family Series. This second chance romance is sizzling, swoon worthy and will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.

As the lead singer of the Original Kings, Dash Kingston has been living the life of a playboy rock star surrounded by beautiful women and more money than he’d ever dreamed of earning. His success has made him world famous and he has worked really hard to get to where he is. Until a one-night stand leaves him with a baby scare that threatens to change his life forever. Word is quickly spreading and instead of talking about their music or the new drummer, Axel Forrester, the focus is all on him and Dash doesn’t like it one bit.

While he waits for the paternity results, Dash thinks about all the mistakes that he has made and his mind goes to Cassidy Forrester. He crossed a line with her by having a one-night stand with his brother’s partner’s former personal assistant. He freaked out the next morning and left without saying anything and making things awkward between them. But she doesn’t know that he left because of how much she affected him and not because he played her. Then his publicists offers a solution, to get a fake girlfriend so the press stops going after him and they all think that Cassidy is the best person to do it. His only obstacle now is to convince her that he is worth the shot if only she would let him break the barriers around her heart.

When Cassidy Forrester made the move from L.A to New York to be close to her brother and best friend, she never imagined how much her life was about to change. Having worked with her best friend and A-list actress, Sasha, Cassidy has been surrounded by celebrities for the past four years. So when her older brother becomes part of the Original Kings, she is incredibly happy for him and his success with the famous band.

But it’s the career step of a lifetime that has her excited for the next phase in her life. As her friend and business partners were creating a production company and have asked Cassidy to be their creative director. While they are all trying to get the company running, Cassidy agrees to be the band’s temporary assistant and while she doesn’t want to be close to Dash, she does it for her brother. Until Dash apologizes for leaving her the next morning and asks her to be his fake girlfriend. Cassidy knows that she is gambling with her heart, but promises herself that she will not let Dash near it as she has been hurt in the past. Dash is determined to make her his and it would take a turn of events to make her question whether or not they can actually have a future together.

I loved seeing this rock star get his second chance at a happily-ever-after. The characters have such a sizzling chemistry from the very beginning that is hard to ignore. Dash knows what he wants and it’s Cassidy ever since they met. There is something about her that keeps calling to him and he doesn’t want to let her go. There is also a lot that she doesn’t know about him that the characters have to navigate as a couple. Meanwhile, Cassidy has been hurt in the past and is Dash’s reputation that makes it harder to her to fully trust or commit to anyone else. There is so much that happens in book that I enjoyed, we get to see cameos from previous characters in the series. The ending was sweet and very fitting to their story. I would highly recommend checking out this book as well as the whole series, you will not regret it! :)

🔖 BLOG TOUR 🔖 Beautiful Nightmare by Giana Darling {REVIEW}

Beautiful Nightmare by Giana Darling

Release Date: January 13th 2022 by Dangerous Press
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Bianca has finally found her rightful place amid the powerful Constantines. But all is not what it seems in this glittering new world. And Tiernan Morelli refuses to give her up…

BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARE is the final book in the Dark Dream duet by USA Today bestselling author Giana Darling.

My Review:

Beautiful Nightmare is the explosive conclusion in the Dark Dream Duet. Giana Darling delivers a dark romance filled with shocking twists and turns to keep you at the edge of your seat.

Tiernan Morelli is all about executing a good plan, but he never imagined how his life was going to change the minute he brought Bianca Belcante and her younger brother into his home. Despite growing up hating the Constantines like the rest of his family, Tiernan’s hatred for his own father has grown even stronger over the years. His plan to bring down the Constantines by using Bianca and her brother backfired on him and the need to protect them become his top priority. Which makes Tiernan the enemy now, but it took losing Bianca to realize just how much she has impacted his life and he will not give up until she gives him her heart.

Bianca Belcante has always dreamed of being accepted into the Constantine clan, to finally get to know her dad’s family and embrace them as her own. But things quickly changed the minute she steps foot in Bishop’s Landing. Caught in the middle of a war between the Constantines and the Morellis, Bianca realizes that she is a pawn in their game and what’s heartbreaking to find out is that Tiernan happens to be behind it all. He broke her trust and took a piece of her heart with him. Her little brother still remains at Lion Court and she vows to get him back from Tiernan. Yet, it’s until Bianca finds out more about her dad’s family that she begins to question their motives and what she always dreamed about. She will not stop until she finds out the answers to her questions, but finding out the truth might not be all what it seems.

I really enjoyed reading Beautiful Nightmare, it was intense and mind-blowing! I didn’t see a lot of things coming and that along had me reading non-stop until the very end. I loved the characters, they were well developed and thought out. Bianca’s beautiful nightmare (Tiernan) finally learns to love and be loved. It was nice to see him interact with Bianca’s little brother and with his own brothers. He has something of his own to protect and he makes sure to do that when it comes to Bianca. She is his reason for waiting to change and I loved reading their moments together. There is a bit of mystery/secrecy in the story that made Bianca bold and courageous. For so long she has wondered a lot about her dad and she is able to get closure. While the story was great, I felt like the end was a little abrupt. The story itself could have benefited by adding more about her dad’s will and maybe a glimpse into their future. Needless to say, I would still recommend checking out this duet if you are looking for a good dark romance! :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Wright Rival by K.A. Linde

Wright Rival by K.A. Linde

Release Date: January 11th 2022 by K.A. Linde Inc.
Series: Wright #10
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

A sexy enemies-to-lovers romance set in the world of the Wrights about Hollin & Piper from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

No one on this planet pushes my buttons like Hollin Abbey.

I don’t know if it’s the rugged, sexy cowboy look or the Harley Davidson motorcycle or the cocky swagger. Or just him. But whenever we’re together we fight like cats and dogs.

Now our vineyards are rivals in the annual wine competition, and I’m determined to win.

I just have to take out my Wright rival.

My Review:

K.A. Linde delivers a swoon worthy and steamy enemies-to-lovers romance in The Wright Rival, the tenth book in the Wright Series. A story about a good girl and a reformed bad boy that will have hooked from beginning to end.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Piper Medina, who is in charge of the day-to-day duties of Sinclair Cellars, a vineyard that her dad owns after taking care of it for many years. It’s a place close to her heart as her family has given a lot to make Sinclair Cellars a reputable vineyard. But who she doesn’t like is Hollin Abbey, who happens to oversee the competition, Wright Vineyard. For the past five years, Piper has seen Hollin be a ladies’ man and she has no interest of getting her feelings hurt by him. Yet, it’s been that many years that they have been bantering back-and-forth and always pushing each other’s buttons to no end.

The fact that Hollin is an attractive man also makes things difficult for her as she tries to avoid getting close to him. Until she finds something in her boyfriend’s bag that completely changes the game for them and she starts to see a different side of Hollin. He has developed a new interest in her and will not give up until she agrees to go out with him. Piper never wanted to put her heart on the line, but the more time she spends with Hollin, the more she starts to question if they might just be meant for each other.

For Hollin Abbey, no one has been able to challenge him so much in the past few years other than Piper Medina. It’s their constant banter and comebacks that ultimately make him see her differently. The thought of her being tied to someone else doesn’t sit with him and he wants her to give him a chance instead. But it’s when she keeps shutting him down that makes him want to understand Piper more. After trying to give a relationship a fair chance a while ago and getting his heart broken, Hollin hasn’t been able to fully trust. That has prevented him from being in a relationship, but he is willing to woo Piper until she gives in. Yet, things get intense when their wines are entered in an annual wine competition and they are rivals once again.

I really enjoyed reading the Wright Rival! Hollin and Piper may not like each other at the beginning of the book, but as the two start to give in to their attraction/feelings, their chemistry is off the charts from then on. They have to learn to adjust to being together after not wanting to do anything with each other for so long. We get to see a lot of characters from previous books make appearances in the book as well which made the story that much more enjoyable to read. I loved Piper’s family, they truly had her back and it was sweet to see Hollin getting along with them. They are both proud of what they’ve accomplished with their vineyards respectively so the events that surround the competition is what truly makes them fight for what they’ve been working on for so long. The ending was really sweet, it truly came full circle and it worked very well for the characters. I would highly recommend checking out this book and the rest of the series, you will not regret it!

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Hustler by Gina Azzi

The Hustler by Gina Azzi

Release Date: January 6th 2022
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Sports

Theodore Edward Sims was supposed to be my hot summer hook-up, a stranger I slept with in Hawaii. Now, he's my stepbrother's new hockey teammate.

When we met, Theo was a sexy surfer in Maui, riding waves by day and rocking my world at night. After being played for a fool by my ex-fiancé, Theo proved to be a source of instant gratification.

He was refreshingly honest, engaging, and incredibly charming. Theo built me up when it felt like my world was crumbling down.

Turns out, he's just like my ex. A liar.

To avoid the gossip of my failed engagement, I hightail it to Boston, where I'm forced to cross paths with a new version of Theo, aka Eddie Sims, Boston Hawks right wing. Here, he isn't the well-connected, alluring surfer but a determined, angry hockey hunk with something to prove. Especially to me.

Except I've written him off. Once a liar, always a liar.

But Theo isn't backing down. Instead, he's hustling for my forgiveness. If I give him another chance, will he live up to his apologies? Or am I just lying to myself?

My Review:

Gina Azzi delivers a redeeming and heartfelt sports romance in The Hustler, the eight book in the Boston Hawks Hockey Series. This emotional story is about second chance at love and new beginnings that will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.

For twenty-four year old, Sofia Carpenter, making the big move to Maui was supposed to be the start of the rest of her life. But soon her engagement ends after her fiancé finds out more about her past. On top of that working as an event planner for the Servinos and Lely Prive Resort also ends, but not before she delivers on her last event. A high profile wedding that she was personally asked to oversee, but little did she know that it would ultimately end up changing her life forever. Then she sees a gorgeous stranger surfing, but never imagined herself meeting him in person. Until Sofia finds out that he is the groom’s brother and it’s his ability to listen without judgment is what draws her to him even more. Their one night together didn’t end the way they had planned as she finds out who he really is and vows to not put her heart as stake again. It would take months later for them to bump into each other again and for Theo to want to fight for what they had in Maui.

As a hockey player for the Boston Hawks, Theodore Edward Lawrence “Eddie Sims,” is used to attracting all kinds of attention. But for the last season, he has been struggling to keep his reputation intact. So his older brother’s wedding in Maui comes at the right time as it gives him an opportunity to get away from the spotlight. Yet, nothing could have prepared him when he sees Sofia for the first time. He is attracted to her right away, but there is something underneath the brave face that she puts when he meets her that calls to him. Her vulnerability and openness is refreshing to him and Theo doesn’t want to let her go. Sofia is not like anyone he’s ever met and holding onto her for just a little longer is what he wants, until she finds out the truth that he kept from her. Finding out that she is going to be closer to him than he thought is what makes Theo want to fight for her even more.

I absolutely loved reading The Hustler! We have two characters who have been given a second chance and it’s when they find each other that their relationship is truly explosive. Sofia has been through so much growing up and it’s though her experiences that she wants be better as well as be able to help those around her. On the other hand, Theo’s upbringing left him question people’s motives when it came to his family. He comes a long way when he meets Sofia. She gives him a reason to want to do better and learn to trust again. But just when you know where the story is going there is an unexpected plot twist that I didn't see coming at the end. All in all, this was such an emotional story filled with hope and a sweet ending to keep you wanting for more. I would highly recommend checking it out! :)

My Review:

Only One Mistake is the sixth book in the Only One Series, where an unexpected encounter between two complete strangers brings them the ultimate gift that they didn’t see coming. Madison delivers a sweet sports romance filled so many swoon worthy and funny moments to keep you wanting for more.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Michael Horton, a hockey player who after an altercation with his coach in the middle of a game has been traded to a different team. Now word has gotten out that he has been officially traded of to the Dallas Oilers, which means a new team and a new home for him. The pressure is on to start fresh and be able to give it his all. Little did he know that he would end meeting a beautiful woman on his first day in Dallas that would ultimately change the course of his life forever. He hopes to see her again after their one-night stand, but it would take five months to see each other again and this time he isn’t letting her go at all.

For kindergarten teacher, Jillian Williams, going on a blind date is about the last thing she has left to try in order to put herself out there in the dating world. With no idea who her mystery date is going to be she heads of to the restaurant they were supposed to meet. Only to discover that the only guy who happens to be sitting by himself is not her date and she is mortified. She has been stood up and the handsome stranger is nothing but to nice to her from the start. It’s evident that they are attracted towards each other and after a few more drinks that a line is cross and their destiny is set. Getting pregnant should have been a joyous occasion had the father of her baby had been there for her, but it would take many months later for them to meet again. Jillian is not sure how she feels when Micheal suddenly wants to be involved with the baby and she thinks that he isn’t going to want her as well. Yet, things start to change when she finds out who he really is and what it means to be in a relationship with a famous hockey player.

I really loved their dynamic as a couple, not only is it relatable but also entertaining and swoon worthy! We have Micheal trying to find his footing in a new state and with a new team. On the other hand, it has been almost a year since Jillian broke up with her ex and with her sister’s encouragement, she is able to put herself out there and try something new. Jillian’s relationship with her sister Julia is hilarious. So is Michael’s relationship with his sister, Alex. From the siblings to the rest of the family, they all bring something to the story that just kept getting better. The ending is very much family oriented and sweet. I cannot wait to read what happens next in the series, I would highly recommend it if you love a good sports romance with a surprise pregnancy added to the mix! :)

Meet Natasha Madison:

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

🎉 Happy New Year! 🎉

In my last post I featured my top ten books that I read in 2021, in today's post I'm going to feature my top ten most anticipated books of 2022 (in no particular order).

What are you looking forward to reading this year? 🥳📚

1.

Just One Spark by Carly Phillips

2.

The Commander by Melanie Moreland

Men of Hidden Justice
Because love can bleed into the darkest heart

My instincts had always served me well.
Listening to my gut, the warning voice in my head that told me when to walk away.
I never failed to heed the signs.
Until the day she walked into my office.
I knew she would be trouble, but I ignored the alarm bells.
And then it was too late, and I fell. Hard.
A lie tore us apart, and I thought I’d lost her forever.
But now she’s back—with a secret she’s been keeping.
This time, I’m not letting her go.

Only One Mistake by Natasha Madison

From the Something So Series comes

Michael Horton

Being traded after fighting with your coach on air isn’t exactly a good look.
With one mistake under my belt, I knew I needed to focus on the game, and nothing else.
But everything changed when I went to pick up my nieces and came face to face with my very pregnant one-night stand from six months ago.

Jillian

Two pink lines changed all my plans.
So did the guy I had a one-night stand with, a man who made me laugh and smile, a guy who I called to share my unexpected news with only to find out his number was no longer in service.
Once more let down by the opposite sex I figured I was doing this on my own.
Then one day I was staring into the eyes of the man I hated, the father of my baby.

All it took is only one mistake to change everything.

4.

Dating the Duke by Emma Hart

A Wild Card Kiss by Lauren Blakely

A sexy standalone romance between a single dad athlete and the woman who got away!

Things that suck on my wedding day -- walking in on my groom kissing another woman twenty minutes before the ceremony.

Things that suck worse? The woman he’s kissing is my mom.

I head straight for the bowling alley bar down the street and ask for a double. And in walks a deliciously charming local football hero -- Harlan Taylor.

Yes, I’ll take another drink in the form of a one-night stand with this hunk of a man. In the morning, he asks if I want to get together again. More rebound nookie? Yes please!

But then I learn his football team just hired my yoga studio to teach downward facing dog to their star player, making my O-delivering hottie officially off limits.

Trouble is, the more time I spend working with the sexy single dad who dotes on his daughter, the more I’m feeling all the things far too soon.

There’s no way this can end well, but tell that to my runaway heart…

A Wild Card Kiss is a sexy, flirty sports romance featuring a charming, pie-baking, single dad who's never forgotten the red-hot kiss he planted on the feisty, sassy blonde one night years ago and a jilted bride heroine determined to move on from heartbreak. This story contains sexy times that can cure getting-left-at-the-altar blues, and heart-tugging swoony romance that’ll melt the most jaded hearts.

Cinder & Glass by Melissa de la Cruz

Blockbuster author Melissa de la Cruz’s YA retelling of Cinderella, set in 17th Century Versailles.

For this princess, winning the crown is no fairytale.

1682. The king sends out an invitation to all the maidens in France: their presence is requested at a number of balls and events that will be held in honor of the dashing Prince Louis, who must choose a bride.

Cendrillon de Louvois has more grace, beauty, and charm than anyone else in France. While she was once the darling child of the king's favorite adviser, her father's death has turned her into the servant of her stepmother and cruel stepsisters--and at her own chateau, too!

Cendrillon--now called Cinder--manages to evade her stepmother and attend the ball, where she catches the eye of the handsome Prince Louis and his younger brother Auguste.

Even though Cendrillon has an immediate aversion to Louis, and a connection with Auguste, the only way to escape her stepmother is to compete with the other women at court for the Prince's hand.

Soon, as Cendrillon glows closer to Auguste and dislikes the prince more and more, she will have to decide if she can bear losing the boy she loves in order to leave a life she hates.

Melissa de la Cruz takes a lush, romantic hand to this retold fairy tale classic.
