My Review:

Not having read any other books by Snow before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Claim. Needless to say, it didn’t disappoint at all. This intriguing and steamy romance is the first book in the Violent Delights Trilogy. A trilogy not to be missed!

As a model, Sophia Morelli is used to having press following her every move. What was once felt good to be a tabloid darling, now it’s just another duty to fulfill. One that comes with a lot of criticism from those around her. But trouble seems to follow her everywhere she goes and her parents think that she is a disappointment while living a life of sin. What they don’t know is just how wrong the press has been about her and it’s because of what she’d endured that has made Sophia build walls around her.

Yet, there is freedom in exchange of control and power. So she heads to Violent Delights, her brother’s club to explore what she’s always wanted and set the girl hidden deep inside her free. It’s the minute she catches the attention of Damon Pierce that her world turns upside down. Sophia is warned of how dangerous he is, but there is something about him that is hard to ignore. He is magnetic and possessive, who also has a past that could threaten a chance at them forming a future together.

Damon Pierce might be the sought-after architect in New York, but at Violent Delights he has a dangerous reputation. Everyone knows that he has no interest in emotional entanglements, especially after what happened with his last Sub. At the club, he could pretend to be someone else and not one haunted by a past. So when he spots a gorgeous beauty, Damon is drawn to her the minute their eyes meet. Sophia is like no one and he wants her no matter what. But what starts off as a one-night thing turns into so much more and the longer he gets to know her, the harder it gets for him to stay away.

I absolutely loved reading Claim, it’s a good start to the trilogy. There is so much that happens in the story, it was suspenseful and well-developed. It’s evident that the characters have instant chemistry that develops over time throughout the book. They are able to lean on each other and Damon gets to be the overly possessive alpha-hero to the rescue. I loved Sophia’s relationship with her older brother, Lucian, who has his own separate book as well. As the black sheep of the family, they stick together and they understand each other. The ending does end on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait read what happens next!

Charm Me by Samantha Chase

Release Date: May 23, 2023
Pages: 292
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

There isn’t anyone in Laurel Bay he hasn’t been able to charm.
But charming a baby is a whole different story.

Life has never been better for Jamie Donovan. Always has been. And now that it’s his turn to take charge of the family pub, he truly feels like everything in his life is just the way it’s supposed to be. Or it was until an early morning knock on his door ended with a baby on his doorstep. The man who can normally charm his way out of any situation doesn’t know the first thing about taking care of a baby and running a business. And so he turns to his siblings for help.

And once they tell him their solution, he wishes he’d never asked for help.

Fallon Murphy has always prided herself on being good with people. In all her life, she’s only met one person she hasn’t been able to get along with. Unfortunately, their parents are best friends and avoiding him just wasn’t a choice. When his sister calls stating an emergency, the last thing Fallon expects is to find an abandoned baby – one that belong to Jamie. As much as she’d love nothing more than to see Jamie fail at something, she would never put an innocent child at risk.

They’re rivals.
Sworn enemies.
And now…roommates.
Can one small baby help turn adversaries into lovers? Or maybe even…a family?

My Review:

As the fourth book in The Donovans Series, Chase delivers a swoon worthy enemies-to-lovers romance in Charm Me. This small town romance will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

For Jamie, being the laid-back Donovan comes with an easy going personality and flirtatious qualities that always seem to attract women everywhere he goes. This doesn’t always help when it comes to his family, who thinks that he doesn’t take things seriously. Jaime is used to people underestimating him, so when his parents leave town with their best friends for a short vacation, he is put in charge of his family’s pub. As everyone watches him, Jamie is ready to prove that he can be responsible and make the pub a success.

But just as things were starting to look good for him, life gives him another test and this one came in as a baby on his doorstep. With no idea what to do with the baby, Jamie enlists the help of his siblings, only they brought someone else to help as well. His childhood nemesis, Fallon Murphy. They can’t be near each other other without trying to outdo one another. With her knowledge, Fallon is more than capable of taking care of the baby, so Jamie finds himself begging her to help take care of his son. No matter how much it pained him to ask her for help, Jamie has to make things work with Fallon. Yet, the more time they spend together, the more he starts to develop feelings for her.

With her last job not working out, Fallon Murphy is ready to move back to her childhood home of Laurel Bay. After working really hard in her studies, Fallon suddenly finds herself questioning what her next career move is going to be. So when her parents leave town, Fallon moves back home for a while until she decides what she is going to do with her life. Moving back to Laurel Bay brings her so many memories and she is quickly reminded of her childhood nemesis, Jamie Donovan, the minute she bumps into him. While their families are close, they grew up not liking one another. There is something about Jamie that irritates her to no end. The last thing Fallon wants to do is help him, but when it comes to watching over a a baby, she is ready to give it a second thought. While she would love to see Jamie fail, Fallon soon starts to see a different side of him that ultimately brings them closer. She just hopes he doesn’t brake her heart in the process.

I throughly enjoyed reading this slow burn romance between Jamie and Fallon. Chase did a great job developing the characters, making them relatable to read. The story itself is charming and cute. We get to know each character separately and how they slowly develop feelings for one another. There are ups and downs that they need to go through and we see them lean on each other as well. Overall, the ending was sweet and truly worked out for them. I would highly recommend checking out this story! :)

πŸ”– RELEASE BLITZ πŸ”– I'll Always Be With You by Monica Murphy {REVIEW}

I'll Always Be With You by Monica Murphy

Release Date: May 18, 2023
Pages: 437
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Weston Fontaine is the hottest senior at Lancaster Prep.

And he knows it.

He’s gorgeous. Confident. Smart.

Too smart.

Everyone loves him. He could have any girl on campus, except for one.

Me.

I’m a Lancaster, meaning I’m basically untouchable–or so I thought. It’s my family who owns this God forsaken private school that I don’t want to attend. But according to my parents, I have to endure my senior year at Lancaster Prep before I can return to what I love the most: ballet.

West doesn’t make my time here easy. He’s arrogant. Crude. Insufferable. He torments me in the worst way, to the point that I can’t stand him. Yet he’s the only boy I’ve ever let touch me…

You see, West and I? We share a secret. On a hot summer night in Paris, we hooked up. And I never do that. Ever. I revealed parts of myself to him I’ve never shown anyone else. He’s seen me at my most vulnerable. I told him my secrets. And he told me his. In Paris, he was sexy. Protective. Even dare I say…sweet.

Now he’s the villain in my story, yet I can’t help but chase after that feeling only West can give me. Despite our hatred for each other, we somehow burn brighter when we’re together. So what happens when you helplessly fall for the one person you know is bad for you?

If you’re like me, you go ahead and fall for him anyway.

My Review:

Murphy delivers a page-turning and sizzling romance in I’ll Always Be With You, the fourth book in the Lancaster Prep Series. A must-read!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to West Fontaine, a high school student who is spending the summer in Paris. It’s his last summer before finishing his high school year at Lancaster Prep. A private school who is just as elite as the family who owns it. The Lancasters are well known everywhere he goes and he has heard of every single family member, including of Carolina Lancaster. A prima ballerina that has become very successful as such a young age, captivating audiences in London. So he is surprised to see her dancing at a club in Paris, but West quickly learns that Carolina is rude and standoffish. Yet, there is something about her that draws him to her. Spending the night going to her favorite places in the city was all it took for him to like her even more. Saying good bye to her was for the best, little did he realized that he would end up seeing again back at Lancaster Prep. This is the last year where he is supposed to rule the school alone and having Carolina at close proximity was not in his plans. Soon West finds out that there is so much more to Carolina than what people truly know about and he has to make her his once and for all.

Carolina Lancaster might have her last name to back her up, but that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t worked hard to get to where she is at as a ballet dancer. As the principal dancer at the London Dance Company, Carolina works day and night to be the best. After all, dance is all she has that is truly hers. Being away from her family has given her the independence that she needed, but that doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t have the best relationship with her family. Being a Lancaster comes with a lot of responsibilities, so she doesn’t mind letting go in Paris. West is gorgeous when they meet, he exudes a confidence about him that is hard to ignore. Then everything changed the minute her parents sent her study her last year of high school at Lancaster Prep, not realizing just how much her life was about to change forever. From bullies to new friendships, Carolina is about to embark on a journey of self discovery while she deals with how to be in school again.

I absolutely loved reading I’ll Always Be With You, there are so many cute moments spread throughout the book that had me swooning for the characters. West doesn’t make school easy for Carolina at the beginning, though she secretly loved/hated every minute of it. She soon realizes who her true friends are and how much West has affected her in every way. He understands her, but there is something about him that hasn’t truly let her into his life. There are secrets that could tear them apart and they have figure out a way to be together before it’s too late. I loved the secondary characters, made the story that much more interesting to read. The ending was perfect for them, everything comes full circle which was perfect. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this book as well as any others by the author! :)

πŸ”– REVIEW πŸ”– The Problem With Pretending by Emma Hart

The Problem With Pretending by Emma Hart

Release Date: May 15, 2023
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Literally colliding with the hottest guy in the world and agreeing to be his date to his sister’s wedding? Done… for some reason.

Finding out he’s actually an aristocrat and will one day inherit an ancient Scottish dukedom and castle? Yep, that’s a surprise.

Sharing a bed with him at said castle because his family thinks I’m his girlfriend? Okay, I’m sure I’ll survive. Even if he does make my heart pitter-patter and my lady bits—uh, never mind.

Dealing with his family feud, his bridezilla sister, and his grandma’s gobby cockatiel who fancies himself the castle alarm system? It’s… well, it’s… something.

Oh, and a snowstorm, keeping my real identity a secret, trying to figure out where the heck I know the Glenroch family from, and why his mum keeps looking at me weirdly?

Yeah, that I’ll need some help with…

*Please note that The Problem With Pretending is set in the United Kingdom and is written in British English. It's set in my aristoverse but is a complete standalone.*

My Review:

Hart’s newest release, The Problem With Pretending was such a delightful and entertaining read. This witty romcom will leave you hooked from beginning to end!

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Lady Grace Montgomery-Brown, a PhD history student who is working on her dissertation at Cambridge University. While she might have a title, it doesn’t help when it comes to dating. Men are intimidated with who she is, even though she doesn’t have the best relationship with her family. From titles, inheritances and secrets, Grace is tired of the aristocracy. She doesn’t want to date anyone that could be tied to the same circles her family frequents that could bring more drama to her life. So Grace is shocked to bump into a very good looking stranger outside a cafe, there is instant chemistry that makes her want to get to know him better. Until she gets a surprise request from Will to accompany her to his sister’s wedding. Little does she know just how much her life is about to change forever.

William never expected to become drawn to the witty student who loves obscure historical facts. He can’t get Grace out of his head, so when the perfect opportunity presented itself, Will took it by inviting her to his sister’s wedding in Scotland. Though there a few things he failed to mentioned, one of them is that his grandparents are the Duke and Duchess of Glenroch and that they think that he is his girlfriend. Pretending turns into so much more the more he gets to know her and soon he begins to develop feelings for Grace. But there are things that Grace has been keeping secret, a minor detail that could change the course of everything.

I really enjoyed reading The Problem With Pretending, Hart’s writing is perfect for all the romcoms that she writes. I truly had such a great time reading this blossoming romance between Grace and Will. We get cameos of characters from previous books as well. Their chemistry just keeps getting better throughout the book and they are able to lean on each other in their time of need. I loved the setting itself and the history of the place. All in all, if you’re looking for a pretending romance that turns into so much more that is set in Scotland than I would highly recommend checking out this book, their witty banter will leave you wanting for more!

***I received an advanced copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.***

My Rating:

Emma Hart

New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Emma Hart, has written more than seventy romance novels in the last decade. She loves writing snarky, swoony romcoms with a side of chaos, occasionally venturing into romantic mysteries. Which are exactly the same as her romcoms, just with a dead body or two. That’s the reason for her questionable Internet history—at least that’s the story she’s sticking to.

She lives on a smallholding in North Wales with her husband and their two children, a clowder of very fluffy cats, one giant German Shepherd, and an undisclosed number of chickens and ducks. Don’t ask her to count them. She will not, thank you very much.

When she’s not writing or chasing ducks in her pyjamas, you can find her creating cosy gaming content for her Youtube channel and live streaming on Twitch.

My Review:

The conclusion to Santos and Madelena’s whirling romance comes to an end in Deliver Me From Evil. Knight’s second book in the Augustine Brothers’ Series will have you hooked from beginning to end.

After the suspenseful cliffhanger in Forgive Me My Sins, the story picks up right where it left off. After shocking revelations are revealed, tensions are running high between Santos and Madelena. Their trust in each other is tested as they are forced to relieve their pasts. Madelena gets warned that her enemy is much close to home while being stuck in middle of two very powerful families. Ever since Santos saw Madelena, he know that he had to protect her at all costs. While eliminating those that he thought were the enemies, Santos doesn’t realize that just how close the really enemy is and he is faced with difficult decisions before it’s too late.

I really enjoyed reading Deliver Me From Evil, there are a lot of twists and turns in the story will leave you satisfied at the end. While the main characters are forced to face their dark pasts, there are forces much stronger trying to brake them apart. We get a lot of action as well as steamy scenes. It’s evident that both Santos and Madelena have a lot to work on, but they are able to lean on each other in the book and we get to see their love blossom as well. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out the first two books in this series, will definitely be on the look out for more from the author in the future. :)
