πŸ”– BLOG TOUR πŸ”– The Write Choice by Jami Rogers {REVIEW}

The Write Choice by Jami Rogers

Release Date: June 20, 2023
Pages: 218
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Author Jami Rogers continues the Lust or Bust series with another steamy, enemies to lovers romantic comedy. Living with the one woman who can't stand you is bound to make a great story!

I have the career, the house, the family, the friends, but not the girl. The one. The woman to spend my life with. As a romance writer, I’m as clichΓ© as it gets. I love love. I want to be in love. I want to experience everything that comes with it: heartbreak, happiness, fighting, you name it.

I want it all.

What I didn’t want, however, was to get married in Vegas on a whim.

To a woman I can’t stand.

To a woman I can’t stop thinking about.

I know, I know, that doesn’t even make sense.

Trust me, I know. Here’s the kicker. She’s just as stubborn as I am and failure is not a word either of us has in our vocabulary. How far are we going to go till we each get the outcome we want in the end? Life, love—both are on the line.

At some point, there’s no coming back, and what happens then? How much do I lose?

I’m about to find out.

My Review:

As the third book in the Lust or Bust Series, Rogers delivers a swoon worthy enemies-to-lovers romance in The Write One.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Beck Robertson, a thirty-year-old romance writer whose career has enable him to purchase the perfect home for him. It’s the success of his latest release that has his agent eager to read Beck’s next project. As someone who grew up confident and always in control, Beck suddenly finds himself stuck. He doesn’t know what he is going to write about and needs inspiration fast.

It doesn’t help to have Calla, his friend’s younger sister constantly calling him and Beck has a very good reason for wanting to avoid her calls. He is aware of what she wants and he is determined to avoid divorcing her at all costs. Little does he realize that Calla is just as determined to make him see that they are not meant to be together. If only that were true for both of them, as the longer they spend together, the more they start to see just how well they fit together.

I really enjoyed reading The Write Choice, it’s evident from the very start that the characters have chemistry no matter how much they try to deny their attraction towards each other. Calla Stone is going through a crisis trying to figure out what she really wants to do as a career while also trying to face her family as well. Though they mean well, they are not thrilled that she hasn’t figure out her life yet. Failure or giving up is not an option so she is set on staying married to Beck while also doing everything possible to make him be the one to want to divorce her. But as she gets to know Beck better, Calla finds out that they have a lot in common and she has to figure out if she wants to proceed with her plan or give it up all together. There is cute banter between them along the way and steamy scenes to want to keep you reading until the very end. I would highly recommend checking it out, I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future. :)

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Rebellious Rockstar by Gina Azzi

Rebellious Rockstar by Gina Azzi

Release Date: June 1, 2023 by Three Cities Publishing
Pages: 255
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

One summer, one rebellious rockstar, and a love that won’t quit — even when it hurts.

Four years ago, Derek “Reign” Reiner gave me my first kiss and flipped my world upside down. Then, my brother’s bandmate catapulted to stardom, becoming a veritable rock god, while I moved across the country.

The last thing Derek expects is me on his band’s doorstep. Yet, here I am. Lost, uncertain about my future, and desperate to feel a connection — to my family, to my brother, to him.

I’m in Boston for one summer, hoping to find my path and discover if there’s something between Derek and me.

And, oh, there is.

Our attraction is intense and heady, fueled by a reckless need. Our chemistry is electric, brimming with a desperate passion neither of us can control.

And our relationship? Well, that’s complicated. Tumultuous.

Derek Reiner may be my brother’s best friend, an international heartthrob, and a musical genius. But he’s also mine.

Even if he breaks my heart.

My Review:

Prepare to go on a rollercoaster ride in Gina Azzi’s latest romance, Rebellious Rockstar, the first book in The Burnt Clovers Trilogy.

While other college students might be on their paths of pursuing their careers or goals, Allegra Rousell, couldn’t haven been anymore uncertain about her own future lately. So she takes a leave of absence from UCLA and sets off for Boston to see her brother, Levi. But upon arriving to Boston, Allegra is hesitant to see the rest of The Brunt Clovers band members, especially Derek Reiner.

It’s been four years since she’s seen him and the last time she saw Derek, he gave Allegra her first kiss. A kiss the ruined her for anyone else. His alluring persona captivated her until she had to moved to the West Coast to attend UCLA. But now that she is back, Allegra is ready to see if Derek feels the same way and perhaps pursue a relationship with him. Soon everything around her starts to change, Allegra realizes that she doesn’t know anything about her brother’s life and just how far apart they’ve gotten over the years. Though career wise things begin to take off, there is still a lot that she needs to figure out, including her confusing feelings for Derek.

As the lead member of The Brunt Clovers, Derek Reiner has been able to achieve stardom even after the difficult upbringing that he had growing up. As the band is getting ready to record their latest album before leaving for their European tour, he is shocked to see his best friend’s little sister, Allegra, show up. It’s been four years since he’s seen her and wonders what could possibly bring Allegra all the way to Boston. At first Derek doesn’t want her near his space, but that doesn’t mean that he’s over her. No matter how much he tries to push her away, Allegra is determined to make things work between them. But she is his best friend/band mate’s little sister making her off-limits. Until they cross the line of no return that he realizes just how much he is willing to put on the line for her.

I’m a huge a fan of Azzi’s hockey series, those were the books that truly spoke to me. So when she announced that she was going to write a rockstar romance, I was all in. Needless to say, Rebellious Rockstar, felt a little different to me. From the writing to the characters, there was something about their relationship that I couldn’t connect. The idea itself is solid and the secondary characters made the book enjoyable to read. They both have background stories that we get a glimpse of in this book that I’ll be intrigued to find more about in the second book. Worth giving it shot if you like angsty rockstar romances. :)

πŸ”– REVIEW πŸ”– Unscripted With Mila by Melanie Moreland

Unscripted With Mila by Melanie Moreland

Release Date: June 1, 2023
Pages: 382
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

From NYT bestselling author Melanie Moreland comes a story of finding love, acceptance and happiness when you least expect it.

Mila Morrison prefers the silent company of her keyboard to that of people. She lives vicariously through the characters she creates.

Nicholas Scott only feels comfortable when he’s playing the role of someone else. He would rather be anyone but himself.

Both of them are hiding, too afraid to let anyone in.

Their attraction is unscripted, as is the bond that forms between them.

When the world around them threatens to tear them apart, are they strong enough to make the final scene?
Or will their affair end up on the cutting room floor?

It is time for the next generation of BAM
Series of interconnected standalones based on the Vested Interest world

My Review:

“You fight for the people you love.”

The heartfelt conclusion to Moreland’s beloved Vested Interest: ABC Corp Series is here. Unscripted With Mila is a page-turning romance about new beginnings that will pull at your heartstrings and never let go.

For thirty-two year old, Amelia “Mila” Morrison being an author comes with its own perks, one of them is being able to write from the comfort of her home. As someone who is shy and prefers to have her own space, Mila is hesitant when her agent tells her that she will have to go to LA pretty soon. As her latest book is in the works of becoming a movie, filming kicks off in LA before they film the rest in Canada. Although she has a very supportive family who are all happy for her success, Mila is afraid of what could happen if things get out of hand.

But there is someone she is eager to meet and that is her muse, Nicholas Scott, the actor who will be playing the lead in the movie. Having followed his career, Mila sees something in Nicholas that the press has failed to see and it’s that vulnerability that has inspired her latest book. Yet, he has a reputation that has her agent warning Mila to stay away from Nicholas. Little does she know that it would take bumping into him to change the course of her life forever. There is so much to Nicholas than what others see and the more she learns about him, the harder it becomes to stay away.

What Nicholas Scott loves about acting is that he can be anyone else with each role and not have to worry about being himself. He has worked really hard to not let anyone into his world while letting everyone else make assumptions about who he is. Hollywood won’t back him up if he shows his true self and he can’t let that happen. Having worked really hard to get to where he is in his career, Nicholas has no choice but to hide behind each role he plays. There is a lot of hype about the author who wrote the book he’ll be portraying in the movie and he can’t wait to meet him or her. But it would take bumping into a gorgeous stranger at their hotel and later on set to finally piece together who she really is. Yet, there is something about Mila that makes him what to protect her at all costs and when he finds out just how similar they are, he will do anything to make her his once and for all.

I absolutely loved reading Unscripted With Mila, it was emotional and romantic. Mila and Nick have instant chemistry that just keeps getting better throughout the book. There is a lot that we find out about them and just how resilient they’ve been on their own. It makes it that much more special when they’re able to lean on each other. Moreland did a great job writing about sensitive topics while telling a beautiful story about second chances and new beginnings. We get lots of cameos form characters that have been part of the series from the very start. The ending was truly special, for those that have been following the series since Bentley, it was nice to see just how the families have grown and how close everyone is. Although this story can be read as a standalone, it will have more impact if you read the rest of the series as well. It was an emotional goodbye to one of my favorite series and I cannot recommend it enough. You won’t regret it! :)
