When Rowan Teller makes the decision to leave his home of Chicago for New York City, he didn’t realize just how much his life was about to change forever. Rowan was only seventeen when he had to make a choice if he wanted to survive in the big city. With no choice but join the Bratva, he becomes its deadliest assassin. Known as “the wolf,” Rowan’s job is to eliminate anyone that could pose a treat to its leader. But he is growing tired of the life that’s he’s made of himself. Making it his life’s purpose to leave it behind or die trying. 

Now Rowan has been given the chance to prove that he can start a new life as a regular civilian. Until he comes across a beautiful woman crossing the street and into his apartment building. She captivates him right away and quickly finds out that they neighbors/co-workers. Rowan knows that he shouldn’t be getting involved with someone as innocent as Annie Collins, he can’t put her at risk now that the Bratva are looking for him. Yet, there is a part of him that wants to give in to the temptation even if it means losing his heart in the process. 

I absolutely loved reading My Neighbor, the Assassin, we get to see the characters develop over time all while getting to know each other. There is so much depth in each of them, Annie is able to relate to Rowan, she becomes his light as he overcomes his past. They are able to rely on each other and slowly develop feelings as well. But it’s when his past comes to hunt him that Rowan has to make a choice, leave his new life behind or risk everything in order to protect that one person he’s learned to love the most. There is plenty of suspense and steamy scenes to keep you rooting for the characters until the very end! All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this story as well as any others from the author. You will not regret it! :)

My Review:

Moreland knows how to deliver an emotional romance filled with depth and steam and that’s exactly what we get in her latest release, Paging Dr. VanRyan.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Matthew VanRyan, an ER doctor who’s recently made the move from the big city to a small town in Victoria. With his busy schedule, Matthew doesn’t always have the time to visit his family, his work is important to him and so is the work ethic that his dad installed in him and his siblings. Everyone is very close, including his extended family. As the more reserved in the family, Matthew doesn’t open up to just anyone. Though he did inherited a sense of humor that has led him to be the prankster in the family. With his mom’s birthday coming up, he stops by a bakery to get cake. Only to come face-to-face with a beautiful woman who’s warmth makes him feel at ease. Something that Matthew has longed for ever since his last relationship didn’t end up the way he expected. Maddy understands him like no one else and he wants to make things work with her. Until she tells him that their time together might come to end sooner than they thought. Matthew is not one to give up that easily and he vows to make things work with her before it’s too late.

As a nursing student, Madison Tate, wants nothing more than to make a name for herself. Working for her aunt at Sugar and Spice is supposed to give her that chance to save money before she starts to soon. Maddy want’s expecting to meet Matthew in the process or develop strong feelings for him. It’s when she gets an offered that she can’t refuse that Maddy will have to make the ultimate decision between giving them a chance or risk losing Matthew forever.

I absolutely loved reading Paging Dr. VanRyan! I was thrilled when Moreland announced her new series featuring characters from one of my favorite series. This story had me captivated from the very beginning. It’s evident that Matthew really likes Maddy and wants to make things work between them. But just when their relationship was getting stablished, they find out that they might just have to make a long distance relationship work. That’s when things don’t go according to plan and they are forced to make a choice. We get to see them go through up and downs, while getting to know their families as well. I absolutely loved them journey and the ending was very sweet. I would highly recommend checking out this book as well any others by the author. You will not regret it!

My Review:

Not having read any other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Give Me Tonight. Needless to say, I really enjoyed reading this marriage-of-convenience romance that will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

Sloane never imagined that she would be one day her sibling’s caretaker after their mom bailed on them at a very young age. Now she is juggling a lot of tasks while trying to taking care of her own responsibilities. With the pressure to do right by her siblings, Sloane wants to prove that she can provide for them. Even if it means putting her own needs aside. There is no time to date or let alone think about a certain hockey player. Jax Wilder has not only managed to get into her head, but after a wild night in Vegas, they end getting married. Changing Sloane’s life forever, now she has to figure out a way to get an annulment or figure out a way to make things work. As a successful hockey player, Jax Wilder knows what he wants and he wants to prove to her that they might just be right for each other before it’s too late.

I really enjoyed reading Give Me Tonight, the characters were sweet and relatable. From the very beginning, we get to see just how much her younger siblings depend on her. It’s something that she doesn’t take for granted. Working at Lakeshore Sweets while taking college classes, it’s clear that Sloane is taking her role a their caretaker seriously. So when her friends decide to throw her a birthday party in Vegas, she is hesitant to leave her siblings behind. Yet, everything changes when she gets married in Vegas and suddenly Jax wants to be there for her in every way. He understands her needs and for once he wants to take care of her and her siblings. Something that Sloane is not used to and we get to see her go through changes throughout the book. It’s when acceptance comes that she has to figure out what she wants or risk losing the only person hasn’t asked for anything in return. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this book. I cannot wait to read more from the author in the future. :)

As the second book in the Dare to Fall Series, Phillips delivers a second chance romance in Falling for Love. This steamy one-night stand story will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the book we are introduced to Jack Dare, a wealthy businessman who co-owns a successful nightclub in Miami with his friends. With the hopes of expanding, Jack finds himself in Charleston with the mission of finding the right spot. But he wasn’t expecting to meet a beautiful stranger at a cafe and for his life to completely take a different turn. It only took one night to cross the line of no return to come knocking two months later with a positive pregnancy test and a crazy ex to make him want to protect Taylor at any cost. He just needs to convince her that they might just be perfect for each other.

Having grown up among the wealthy of Charleston, Taylor Monroe, is used to rubbing shoulders with influential people. As the director of a community outreach for the charity her dad runs, Taylor’s job is to try to get as many donors to pledge for the charity. We get a bit of everything in this book, a scandal, suspense and a steamy romance worth adding this book to your TBR! :)

In Heard’s latest release, Savage Truce, she sets the the ground for her new mafia series. As the first book in the Heart of Crime Series, this steamy dark romance will leave you wanting for more.

For Anastasia Donovan, she has always known that living a normal life wasn’t going to last forever. Not when her family is part of the Bratva world. Being sent to live in another country for the part of her life, Anastasia doesn’t have a relationship with her parents. Not when she’s constantly put down by her mother for her appearance. It doesn’t help that her love for the theater is always followed by a mocked comment by some of the cast members. But no matter what’s been said, Anastasia still finds refuge in her workshop making clothes for the cast.

Then everything changes when she meets Rodian Volkov, a handsome stranger that she happened to catch her eye in the audience. Thinking that someone like him wouldn’t actually like her, Anastasia is shocked to find out that Rodian is attracted to her. They shared a special night, only for it to end abruptly. It doesn’t help that she’s forcefully taken back to Russia to be a pawn for her family. Anastasia is devastated, doesn’t know if she’ll ever see Rodian again. I really enjoyed reading Savage Truce, the characters’ have genuine chemistry at the beginning. It’s all new for Anastasia as well, no one has truly paid attention to her before. She is able to see the gentle side of Rodian and she is attracted to him. Not having a clue on who he truly is, she trusts him right away. Rodian is taken aback by Anastasia’s beauty and on the inside and outside. She is the bright side of the dark wold that he will soon command. Neither of them expected to see each other again, but when he finds her, Rodian vows to never leave her again. Through their ups and downs, they are carve a future together. With appearances of characters from the previous series, it made the story that much more enjoyable to read. Though I do wish the author could have developed a few things further, this was still a sold read. I cannot wait read the next book in the series!

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, Flynn delivers a witty romcom in Hexy Beast. As the third book in The Sherwood Witches Series, it follows the story of two unlikely individuals who might have a lot more in common than they originally thought. A must-read!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Effie Sherwood, a free spirited witch who has the reputation for being unpredictable. As the eldest daughter of the Sherwood family, the most powerful in all Witchingdom. Effie was supposed to inherit their family magic and become the head witch of the Sherwoods. But destiny had other plans and instead declared her not the chosen one. Leaving her wondering her worth at a very young age. So it became her mission to be authentically herself, even everyone in WitchyGram thinks that she is outrageous.

It’s her braveness that is needed when a magical spell book is at risk of landing in the wrong hands, making Effie jump on the back of Darius Aetos’ motorcycle. Not realizing just how much her life was about to change forever. Now, she is accidentally kidnapped by the Alpha wolf who might also be her fated mate. It is unheard of in her world for a wolf and witch to match, but the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore the pull that they have towards each other. Leaving them no choice, but to make a decision whether they want to ignore their feelings or give in.

All in all, I absolutely loved reading Hexy Beast. The chemistry between the characters is magnetic and relatable. Their steamy banter will leave you swooning and rooting for them until the very end. I loved their relationships with their loved ones, it made the story that much more enjoyable to read. The ending was really sweet and I cannot wait to read from the author in the future. :)

As the third book in the Sterling Family Crossover, Just a Little Tempted by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde is a steamy workplace romance that will leave you wanting for more.

As a successful entrepreneur, Simon Powers, has the wealth and looks to get anyone he could possibly want. But in order to prove that the company he co-founded with his brother, Powers Investment Group is renowned, Simon doesn’t have time for a serious relationship. After all, his quest into finding the perfect assistant has taken on a different turn as he keeps firing them without giving them a second chance. His standards are high for a reason, but lately his job keeps piling up and it has unable to focus on the investment he’s been wanting to snag for a while. I absolutely loved reading Just a Little Tempted, the chemistry between the characters is sizzling and relatable. It’s evident for the very beginning that Simon is attracted to Raina. But he is not looking for a relationship, let along cross the line with his friend’s sister. He’s had his trust broken in the past and letting someone in is going to be difficult. Raina was only looking to get away from her previous job, not to feel a connection with her new boss. She’s been hurt in the past and won’t let those around her try to use her again. Both have trust issues that they’re able to connect with one another right away. Neither one of them expected to fall in love, now they have to face their pasts in order to get a chance at a future together. All in all, I loved the ending. I can’t wait to read more in the series, I would highly recommend checking out this book as well! :)

Moreland delivers a small town romance with all the feels in A Simple Love. This steamy and witty romance will hook you from beginning to end.

After working hard to earn his place in Hollywood, Oliver Hart, never imaged just how much his life was going to change in a very short amount of time. Going from Hollywood heartthrob to getting pulled from movies for his behavior. With news of him in the media, his agent decides to send Oliver away to rethink about his choices before it’s too late. Little did he know that by going back to the small he grew up in would give Oliver the chance to truly see what he really wants in life, including a second chance with the woman he left behind all those years ago to start his career.

Everyone makes choices in life that may or may not end up working and for Kassie Brennan she had to learn the hard way. After losing those she loved the most, she left town with a purpose only for her to be back to the place that has embraced her once again. Kassie never expected to see Oliver again, especially after the way things ended between them. Now he is going to be her tenant and being at close proximity with him is going to make things harder for Kassie. She can’t lose her heart again to a man that will eventually walk away from her if they don’t make things work.

I throughly enjoyed reading A Simple Love, the characters not only have great chemistry, but they were relatable as well. It’s evident just how much they still feel towards each other, but they have to overcome their pasts if they want a chance to be together. I loved the small town in the book and how the secondary characters also play a huge in part in their story. The ending was sweet and simple, we get a satisfying ending that truly completes their story. I would highly recommend checking it out as well as any other books by the author. You will not regret it!

In Madison’s latest release, Falling for You, she delivers a new beginnings and second chance romance. As the first book in the Falling For Series, this steamy romance will leave you wanting for more!

For Theo Williams, moving to a small town was only temporary until he found his place working with his cousin and then becoming business partners. CW Constructions keep Theo busy, going from site to site. He is not interested in serious relationships, until he meets an unexpected gorgeous stranger in the middle of the night that changes his life forever. What was supposed to be a one-night stand becomes so much more the minute Theo sees her again weeks later. As a paramedic, Collins Henderson doesn’t have much a social life outside of her work. She’s worked really hard to get to where she is, trying to save up enough to be able to get out of the town that detests her family. But that only changes when she unexpectedly meets the man that would alter her future. Now Collins is expecting his baby and she has to come clean about her family before it’s too late.

I throughly enjoyed reading Falling for You, the characters were relatable and their chemistry was off-the-charts from the very beginning. The setting takes places at a small town who has been hurt by Collin’s parents and as they get to know each other well. The more, we get to see why Collins thinks that she is undeserving of love. Theo comes in at the right time, he feels bad for the way things went after their night together, but he is all in to take care of both of them. He just needs to convince Collins that he truly loves her. All in all, if you are looking for a steamy small town romance with a twist than I would highly recommend checking it out. :)

Saved by a God is Heard’s last book in the Kings of Mafia Series. This friends-to-lovers mafia romance had me hooked from beginning to end. It’s a must-read!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Rosellina La Rosa, Rosie, who has been trained all her life to take over her dad as the Cosa Nostra’s IT expert. Since she doesn’t have any older siblings, Rosie will also have to represent her family and become the fifth capo in the Cosa Nostra. Yet, it’s that part of the business that she dreads the most, Rosie is an excellent hacker, but when it comes to dealing with other criminal organizations she feels sick. It’s the violence that makes her uncomfortable. No matter how much her family tells her, it’s her best friend Enzo whose opinion she takes to heart the most. As a friend, Enzo brings her comfort, even though she’s also had a massive crush on him for a very long time. But he’s made it clear that he is not interested in a relationship or damage their friendship. Leaving her no choice, but to lose her virginity to a stranger. Not realizing that that moment would haunt her later. Before she could do anything about it, there is a threat to the Cosa Nostra and Rosie ends up putting her life on the line in order to save those she loves.

As a ruthless underboss, Enzo Falco is too busy protecting the Cosa Nostra as we all his family. He doesn’t have time for a relationship, at least that’s what he keeps telling himself and those around him. But in reality, Enzo has always had feelings for his best friend, Rosie. There is no one else that understands him the way she does and that is the same reason why he can’t pursue a relationship with her. Enzo would hate himself if he ever hurt her. Protecting her and their friendship is what keeps him going. Until the unthinkable happens and her fortress comes under attack. Taking her away from in the process, Enzo vows to do whatever it takes to bring her back home and make her his for good before it’s late.

I can’t believe the Kings of Mafia Series has come to a close. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Saved by a God, it was full of romance and suspense. It’s evident from the very start that Enzo and Rosie are really good friends. Enzo is able to go to Rosie when he needs her the most and vice versa. Everyone around them knows how tight they are, but it’s hard for them to admit the fact that they are in love with each other. Yet, Rosie is also struggling with her role as capo for the Cosa Nostra. She’d rather be behind a computer than be out where the action usually takes Enzo and the rest of the capos. I loved their interactions with the rest of their family members as well. Then an event happens that truly changes their lives forever and Rosie is put in a position where she has to use all that she knows in order to save herself and those around her. I only wish we could’ve gotten more of their relationship towards the end of the story or a years later epilogue would have really concluded their story better. I still loved the series as a whole and would highly recommend checking it out. You will not regret it!:)

Henri delivers a steamy office romance in A Reluctant Claim. This enemies-to-lovers story will leave you wanting for more.

As Merged’s office manager, Roxy Moretti, had high hopes of eventually being able to buy stake in the company. After working there for the past two years, Roxy is regarded with respect among her co-workers. Yet, what she yearns the most is to prove that she can be their equal in the boardroom. Though there is an ulterior motive that keeps Roxy motived to achieve success on her own without the need to go back to her influential family. Little does she know that her life was able to take a different turn of events the minute Roxy meets Liam Stone. He walked into Merged ready to acquire his own stake in the company, ready to charm anyone to get his way with his looks and the power of the Stone name behind him. Neither of them expected to be put against each other, both have reasons for wanting to be partners at Merged. What they weren’t counting on was to develop feelings for one another, now they have to face the consequences of their time together or risk losing everything. 

A Reluctant Claim was a solid read, full of undeniable chemistry between the characters that turns into so much more. It’s the closeness at work that soon gives them a chance to get to know each other well. Roxy has her guard up, not ready to trust her opponent, yet the soon realize that they work together really well. Which helps solidify their connection and ultimately leads them to give into their feelings for each other. All in all, if you like banter and an office romance, I would suggest giving this story a try. :)

My Review:

Not having read any other books by the author, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Merciless Vow. Needless to say, Johnson blew me away with this page-turning paranormal mafia romance that is a must-read!

For the past ten years, Addie Vane aka Addie O’Shea, has worked really hard to make a name for herself away from her powerful werewolf family. With no desire to be used as a pawn among the werewolf families, she decides to leave her family behind, including her younger brother. Without knowing when she’ll even see him again, Addie focuses on her career as a junior associate at Sterling & Associates. Yet, it’s her intellect and cutthroat business personality at work that her boss admires. But any future career plans are halted the minute Addie gets a call from her father, letting her know that her younger brother has been taken by the Blackwoods after stealing millions of dollars from them. They have made it very clear that they don’t want the money, the Blackwoods want her.

Suddenly Addie is taken back to the place she tried so hard to run away from, but the guilt of leaving her brother is enough to get her to go back to her old world. Meeting Vidar Blackwood completely changes the dynamic between them, he is possessive and wants to treat their marriage as a business arrangement. No feelings are supposed to be involved or so she thinks. Addie will have to decide if staying with helping her new family is worth it in order to save her brother or submit to her growing feelings for the man she vowed to hate.

Every move Vidar Blackwood has always made has been calculated and thought out. He prides himself on catching errors and when a shipment does missing, it’s an error that could cost him millions. So when he finds out that there has been a theft in the family business, he considers it war and Vidar knows exactly who is behind it. Elias Vane has taken from them and to settle the debt, Vidar’s parents want him to marry Addie Vane. He’s always known that one day, he’ll have an arrange marriage like his parents had, yet he wasn’t expecting to meet his match. Addie exudes confidence and power without apology that intrigues him right away. He could take her as an employee with her stellar resume, but it’s her fire that makes the decision for him. She’ll marry him or lost her brother in the process. Little does he know just how much his life was about to change forever.

I throughly enjoyed reading Merciless Vow. Although it was a bit confusing at the beginning, I wasn’t sure where the story was going, but it proved me wrong right away. The tension between the main characters is sizzling and their banter is what ultimately kept me reading. Their marriage might be a business arrangement, but what they don’t know is that they are the perfect match for each other. While Vidar is not interested in a love match, he wants loyalty from his wife. Something that it’s hard for Addie to give knowing the circumstances of their marriage. She guards her trust after the way her dad treated her growing up. It’s easier to focus on her career, but the minute she agrees to marry Vidar her eyes are open to new possibilities as a couple and what they could do if they learn to trust in one another. All in all, this was a great start to the series and I cannot wait to read what happens next. I would highly recommend it! :)
