🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Just One Fling by Carly Phillips

Just One Fling by Carly Phillips

Release Date: April 18, 2023
Pages: 300
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

From Wall Street Journal and USA TODAY bestselling author Carly Phillips comes a brand new stand-alone billionaire hero, second chance, surprise baby, suspense-stalker, with a bit of insta-love story.

Part of Carly’s Kingston - Dirty Dare World. Each book stands alone.

It was just supposed to be a fling.

Now she’s having his baby.

Winter Capwell knows all about billionaire Harrison Dare’s bad-boy reputation.

His all-pleasure, no-commitment rule worked well for her, too. Until fate changed everything.

Harrison never wanted a wife or kids. His incredibly large family provides all the siblings and children he needs. Besides, no woman has ever tempted him to give up his bachelor lifestyle.

Until the mysterious and sexy Winter entered his life.

But when someone comes after the woman he loves, he will stop at nothing to protect her and make her his. For good.

My Review:

It only takes a fling to change the lives of Hollywood’s hottest actor and a journalist in Phillips’ latest release, Just One Fling. As the ninth book in The Kingston Family Series, preparer to go on an emotional roller coaster ride in this steamy romance that will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

As a journalist, Winter Capwell, is used to being behind the scenes of a good story. But nothing could have prepared her for when her own story became the center of every media site. After finding out more about her biological family, a scandal breaks loose and she turns to the fling she had that summer. Having met Harrison Dare when she interviewed him, they couldn’t deny their sizzling chemistry and crossed the line of no return thinking that it would be just a summer fling. Neither of them were expecting for her to get pregnant in the process and now she is faced with the fact that her life will never be the same. His constant life in the spotlight starts to put pressure on her and it’s when she starts to get threatening letters that she sees a protective side of Harrison that has her falling for him. Yet, there is still someone out there threatening their chance at a happily-ever-after and they have to find out who it is before it’s too late.

I very much enjoyed reading Just One Fling, there is a bit of mystery amidst all the romance. It’s evident that the characters have a strong pull towards each other and their connection just keeps getting better as the book progresses. There are ups and downs on the way as they adjust to their new normal. Having Harrison’s baby puts Winter on the spotlight, which she is not used to. As for Harrison, he thought about having a family of his own. After all, he belongs to a pretty big family himself. But when he finds out that he is going to be a father, his immediate instinct is to protect Winter and the baby no matter what and that’s exactly what he is going to do. Getting to finally know her better, feelings start to change and he wants to make Winter his once and for all. Told in dual POV, we really get to see both sides of the story making it that much more enjoyable to read. There is so much more than just their romance and that’s what kept me reading until the until the very end. I would highly recommend checking out the book and any others from the author, you won’t regret it!

I’m not supposed to fall in love with my husband. It’s not part of my plan.

Those were the first words Santos Augustine spoke to me before we sealed an unbreakable oath. A contract signed in blood binding me to him as payment for my father’s sins.

Wearing the mask of legitimacy, this powerful crime family has returned to Avarice to punish those who have wronged them and take what they’ve always been denied, a place among the elite.

Forced to marry my enemy, I’m thrust into his world of secrets and betrayals.

My husband is a dangerous man. And he has dangerous enemies. But it’s when I’m attacked that his fury is unleashed.

It’s then I see what it means to belong to Santos Augustine.

And although I know the safest place for me is in his bed, I can’t let myself fall in love with my husband.

*Please note this age-gap, arranged marriage mafia romance contains references to past self-harm.

Pre-order Deliver Me From Evil, releasing May 9th!

My Review:

Not having read other books by Knight before, I didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, Forgive Me My Sins captivated me from beginning to end. This arranged marriage mafia romance is filled with sizzling moments, secrets and betrayals making it a definite must-read!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Madelena De Leon, daughter of a very powerful and elite family in Avarice. That is until her father messed up and arranged for her hand in marriage to save himself. Not caring that Madelena was just fifteen when she was promised to the heir of a crime family. The Augustine protection proves to come in handy on multiple occasions as Santos comes to her rescue time and time again over the years. Proving exactly what it means to be his. Yet, not matter how much she wants to resist their attraction, the pull that she feels every time Santos comes to her, she can’t. They might have signed a contract in blood, binding them together, but there is a lot that Madelena still doesn’t know about Santos. A truth that could change the course of their lives forever.

Ever since the Augustines have returned from exile stronger than ever, Santos Augustine has witnessed how his family is slowly taking over the prominent town of Avarice. A town that turned their backs on them, leaving his family as outcasts. But this time around, his family is ready to punish those who have wronged them, that includes making the De Leons pay for what they did. By marrying Madelena, the Augustine family thinks that she will solidify their place in social and political circles in Avarice. What Santos wasn’t expecting to feel is the immense protectiveness towards her that grows every time he sees her. He can’t wait for the day they are actually married, to make her his once and for all. But the more time they spend together, the more he realizes just how similar they are. Making it that much more difficult to keep up with his family’s plans to make her family pay for what they’ve done.

I throughly enjoyed reading Forgive Me My Sins, it’s full of mystery and that plot twist at the end, definitely has me wanting to read the next book ASAP! The author does a great job describing the plot and the characters. We have two characters who might just be a lot similar than they might think, and it’s when they start to trust each other that makes it easier to lean on one another as well. Santos has met his match, Madelena is feisty and will not do down without a fight. It’s her previous experiences that have shaped her upbringing as well. On the other hand, underneath his respectable well-groomed facade, there is a ruthlessness about Santos that make him tough and overly protective when it comes to Madelena. Though his dad tells him to rely on himself, there is something about her that makes it impossible for him to let her go. All in all, this was such a great start to the series, should be on top of your TBR list! :)

Made for Us by Natasha Madison

Release Date: April 10, 2023
Series: Made For #3
Pages: 268
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Sports

From Wall Street Journal and USA TODAY bestselling author Natasha Madison comes a brand new stand-alone surprise pregnancy single dad sports romance.

A spin-off from the Only One series & This Is Series.

Abigail

It was time to celebrate.
After all my hard work, I was graduating at the top of my class.
Our family vacation was the perfect chance to relax.
Until I saw him get on the plane and my plans went out the window.
Tristan's everything I've always wanted but can never have.
One night was all we had together.
Now, I’m staring at the two pink lines wondering if I should even tell him.

Tristan

Six years ago, I was living for myself until I found out I had a two-year-old daughter.
Now, I love my life exactly how it is: me, my daughter and hockey.
Except—I've been in love with Abigail from afar for years.
She was the only one I trusted my daughter with.
One night with her is more than I deserve.
Now that I've had her, I know she was made for us.

My Review:

Madison's Made for Us is the third book in the Made For Series. This sports romance is about second chances and new beginnings between a hockey player and a pediatric nurse that will hook from beginning to end.

After working really hard to get her nursing degree, Abigail Stone is ready to spend some much needed time with her family. But she wasn’t expecting to see Tristan Weise and his daughter, Penelope, join them on the trip. What’s worse is that Abigail quickly finds out that they are going to be staying right next to each other, making it that much more difficult to stop crushing on him. Ever since meeting Penelope when Abigail was volunteering at a hospital, she knew that the little girl was meant to be in her life. Little did know that it would be the little girl’s dad that was about to change her life forever.

As a hockey player for the Dallas Oilers, Tristan Weise is finally finding his footing with the team after so many ups and downs. Yet, it was six years ago that his life truly changed after finding out that he had a daughter. It was his teammates and their families that embraced him and Penelope. But seeing Abigail with his daughter overtime, feeling began to grow from afar. She is the only woman he’s been interested this whole time, but Tristan is afraid of how her not feeling the same way and how her family is going to react. It would take a night of no return to change the course of their lives when he finds out that Abigail is pregnant with his baby. Tristan missed the opportunity to be there for Penelope when she was born, so he is ready to fight for his baby and the love of his life.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Made for Us, it was sweet and entertaining. I had such a great time seeing the characters interact with the rest of the families. The cameos that we get from previous characters made the story fun to read. It’s clear that Abigail has a strong bond with Penelope, as they’ve always gravitated towards each other. Yet, that made it a lot more difficult for her to not also spend time with Tristan as well. They finally had a chance to get to know each other more and that’s when their lives truly change. But before they’re able to get their happily-ever-after, they have to face a few more obstacles coming their way. I loved the ending, it was very sweet and fitting for their story. I would highly recommend checking out this book as well as the rest of the series. You won’t regret it! :)

Meet Natasha Madison:

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
