πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Second to None by K.A. Linde

Second to None by K.A. Linde

Release Date: August 30, 2022
Pages: 275
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

First love can't come second.

A stand alone second chance grumpy sunshine romance about Josie & Maddox by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...

Maddox Nelson is the only boy I’ve ever loved.

And the only one to break my heart.

I thought I was over that long ago. After drowning the heartbreak in two failed marriages, I should want safe and easy, and Maddox is nothing but complicated.

Now that I’m back home in Savannah, I can’t deny the pull toward him. He’s the grumpy to my sunshine, the introvert to my extrovert, the uncompromising to my go with the flow. But years of friendship, love, and tangled lust binds us together in the city where it all began.

When heat flies between us, he makes it clear that we already had our chance. Both of us should move on.

Except I’m no longer okay with that idea.

I’ll prove to him that I come second to none.

My Review:

Linde delivers all the emotional angst in Second to None, the third book in the Coastal Chronicles Series. This best friend’s brother second chance romance will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.

After living in LA for the past decade, Josephine Reynolds is not used to the Savannah summers. But coming back to the home Josie used to spend every summer growing up brings her memories of her life before she got her big break. To those closest to her she is still Josie, but to the whole world she is an Emmy-winning actress whose hit teen supernatural show Academy has brought her wealth and a huge fan base. After the show ended on its eighth season, fans were ready to finally see the last chapter of the very successful show.

That is exactly what ultimately brings Josie to Savannah, to start filming the movie, knowing full well that she’ll be seeing Maddox Nelson again. She’s always liked him growing up, but being her best friend’s twin brother, Maddox quickly became off limits to Josie. Then everything changed the minute they crossed the line of no return and gave in to their feelings. Only to end things badly for them and for her life to completely change in one night. They were very different growing up, while Maddox was a total introvert, Josie was his complete opposite. She has always been the life of the party and still is. Yet, no matter how successful they both are, they still can’t get one thing right and that is to find the love of their lives. As for the past decade there has been a push and pull between them, always bringing them together only to bring them apart just as quickly. They’ve been through a lot, but there is something different this time around. Something that gives Josie hope of winning Maddox’s heart once and for all.

I throughly enjoyed reading Second to None, while the story is mainly written in Josie’s POV, Linde does a good job giving us enough details to fully get the whole picture. The storyline does switch from past to present as we slowly get to know the characters and their story. We get cameos from previous characters as well making the story a delight to read. We have two complete opposite characters whose attraction towards each other is undeniable, making it hard for them to fully move on from each other. They will always be connected in one way and that brings them together in the end. Ultimately, Josie finds the strength to go after what she wants with Maddox’s encouragement and the twist at the end was highly unexpected. I would highly recommend checking out this book as I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! :)

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”–Second Chance Rival by M. Robinson

Second Chance Rival by M. Robinson

Release Date: August 23, 2022
Pages: 242
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson comes an enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, second chance standalone romance.

The only thing I was looking forward to more than marrying my enemy…

Was seeing her pregnant with my baby.

But I guess that’s why I’m the bad boy of my family—but she’s always played the good girl.

If they only knew the things she begged me to do all those years ago, when I was sneaking in through her bedroom window.

Before I left.

Before I broke her heart.

Before she hated me.

She doesn’t have to love me.

Hell, she doesn’t even have to like me. She just has to marry me to merge our feuding families…

Best part of our contract is we have to produce a bloodline heir.

My reasons for agreeing to an arranged marriage have nothing to do with claiming our inheritance…

And everything to do with claiming the woman I love.

My Review:

The generational rivalry between their families should have kept them apart, but it only brought them closer for a very short time. Now they are reunited, will they take the second change they’ve been given? In Second Chance Rival, the fifth book in the Second Chance Series, Robinson delivers the ultimate enemies-to-lover romance filled with banter, sizzling scenes and sweet moments to keep you wanting for more!

As the only grandson of the CEO of Hawkins Industries, Tristian Hawkins, grew up knowing that he would one day inherit the family business. But no matter how much of himself he has given to make the company a billion dollar success, his grandfather has made a decision that would ultimately change Tristian’s life forever. Tristian isn’t getting any younger and his playboy ways have to end, according to his grandfather. So, he is giving Tristian the chance to merge corporations with their biggest adversary. To end their rivalry once and for all, all he has to do is marry Belle Montgomery. Tristian doesn’t take the news well, he hasn’t seen Belle in twenty years and he doubts she would give him the time of day. He once hurt her in the past and it’s his job now to convince her to give them a chance as well as give their grandfathers a bloodline heir. Yet, there is something that Belle still doesn’t know and Tristian doesn’t know how she is going to react when she finds out what truly happened all those years ago.

For Belle Montgomery, being the only granddaughter in her family only meant that she was protected and sheltered at all costs. Her family is basically royalty in their town, making them wealthy and powerful. She has always been expected to follow her grandfather’s expectations and demands. From a young age, Belle has known the Hawkins as her family’s rivals. Until she meets Tristian for the first time when she was just 16 yrs old that everything changed in her life. He was her everything until he left her for good. It’s been twenty yers since the last time she saw him, so when he shows up at her office she wants nothing to do with him. Tristian hurt her the minute he walked away and their arranged marriage contract completely takes her by surprise. She has worked really hard to become the COO of Montgomery Enterprises and will do whatever it takes to be the next CEO, even if it means marrying her enemy.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Second Chance Rival, the tone in the story felt different than the last books in the series. Robison gives us all the alpha male vibes in this book and I couldn’t stop reading it. We have two characters who are supposed to be enemies, but have a lot in common. They are brought together in order to merge companies and produce an heir. But there is so much more to their story and they have to learn to leave the past behind in order to give themselves a second chance. It’s full of steamy and romantic moments, would highly recommend checking it out!

πŸ”– BLOG TOUR πŸ”– The Reckless Union by Monica Murphy {REVIEW}

The Reckless Union by Monica Murphy

Release Date: August 16, 2022
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Our marriage may look like a fairytale, but outside forces threaten to tear us apart. Don’t they realize that nothing will keep me apart from Charlotte? Not my family. Not hers either.

What started out as a relationship in name only has evolved into something much more. Something deeper. And when Charlotte is taken from me, I launch into action, determined to rescue her.

She's mine. Nothing is going to stop me from being with her.

Not a damn thing.

My Review:

Murphy delivers a sizzling and page-turning conclusion to the Arranged Marriage Trilogy. The Reckless Union will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters until the very end. A must-read trilogy!

After the suspenseful cliffhanger at the end of The Ruthless Groom, the story picks up right where it lefts off with the kidnapping of Charlotte Constantine. Just as her relationship with Perry was starting to change for the better, an old threat has come back. This time, Seamus McTiernan is not going to back down until he has Charlotte once and for all. But Charlotte quickly realizes that being the outcast in her family means that no one is coming after her. She needs to find the strength to believe in herself if she wants to make it out alive. There is hope that if Perry truly cares for her that he might find her, but there is a possibility that he might think that Charlotte went with Seamus willingly. In the very short months that they’ve known each other, Charlotte has been able to see the protectiveness and easy going nature of Perry. He has become a constant in her life that her feelings for him have begin to change as well. If only he felt the same way.

They have an arrange marriage, but in the very short time that Perry Constantine has come to know Charlotte, it feels a lot more real than ever before. By Seamus taking Charlotte, he doesn’t realize that the Lancasters and Constantines would unite in order to save one of their own. Charlotte is his and no one else’s. Although there is a part of him that wonders if Charlotte is happy to be reunited with Seamus. They have to stop him once and for all. But a new twist in events is set to alter their lives forever, he just needs to convince his wife that they might just have a shot at a happily-ever-after before it’s too late.

I loved the conclusion in the trilogy, we get to see character development in Charlotte and Perry as they become their own. After being thrust into a marriage that neither wanted at the beginning, they slowly started to trust in one another and they started seeing a future together. But facing Charlotte’s past isn’t easy and they have to learn to rely on each other if they want to end things with Seamus for good. The very end was sweet and romantic. We get to see Perry’s caring personality in action and his love for Charlotte truly shows. I would highly recommend checking out this trilogy and any other books in the Midnight Dynasty world, you will not regret it! :)

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Just One Kiss by Carly Phillips

Just One Kiss by Carly Phillips

Release Date: August 16, 2022
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

It was supposed to be one fun night of hot sex.

It turned into a second. Then a third.

Now Mother Nature is having the last word—with a secret baby surprise!

Jade Dare has done everything in her power to overcome her mother’s unstable influence. Changed her name. Became a success. Vowed never to risk passing on the potential for inherited pain. What has it gotten her? One fiancΓ© who wanted her for money. A second who cheated on her with his brother’s wife.

Now she's sworn off men. Or at least off serious relationships. But when the chance to indulge in a one night stand with a man she’s secretly fantasized about arrives, she jumps in. Only to land heart-first into a case of the feels she can’t bring herself to trust.

Knox Sinclair always suspected he liked his brother’s fiancΓ© a little too much, that’s why he kept his hands to himself. But with ties broken and Jade all too willing, a no-strings-attached night sounds like a damned good idea.

Except one night isn’t nearly enough. But while Knox is busy convincing Jade they have a chance at forever, the past is planning one last parting shot.

My Review:

It’s through similar circumstances that brings the owner of a football team and an event coordinator together in Phillips’s sixth book in The Kingston Family Series with Just One Kiss. This sizzling and steamy romance will leave you wanting for more!

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Knox Sinclair, owner of a football team, the New York Warriors. Ever since his dad left him the team, he has working really hard to make it successful. But that lead his full attention to the team and was unaware of what his ex-wife was doing behind his back. Although he is over his ex, Knox still carried a grudge against what she did to him. Being surrounded by all-things bridal is not what he expected to be, but since his younger sister is getting married, he’ll do anything to be for her. Even if it means facing the event coordinator that their brother let down.

There was always a part of him that liked Jade Dare, but she was off-limits while she was with his brother and Knox was married. Yet, neither of them are attached and he suddenly finds himself wanting to spend time with her. There is so much to Jade that not everyone knows about, there is also an attraction that neither of them can deny. But she is a one night with no-strings-attached agreement that Knox quickly is starting to hate the more he gets to know her better. She is it for him, he just needs to convince her to give them a fair shot.

As the event coordinator at the Meridian Hotel, Jade Dare, is in charge of overseeing every single event that the hotel hosts and that includes weddings. She gets to spend time with brides, knowing that she might get to have that experience one day. After her fail attempts at happiness and her latest relationship ending the way it did. Jade has made a point to go on a man fast. No more relationships while she tries to get to know herself better. Who she was’t expecting to see again is Knox Sinclair. He is handsome as always, but there is interest in his eyes when he looks at her. Spending one night with him should have been enough, but it isn’t. She is falling for him, but she is afraid of how he is going to react with her news and their future together.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Just One Kiss, Phillips manages to deliver a great story that brings attention to mental health and how the characters deal with it in the book. Both of the main characters have been hurt and they are trying to move on as best as they can. But brought together by a wedding and now Jade has to face the attraction that she has always had for Knox. Her past has left her with abandonment issues, while Knox takes his time to understand her and what her needs are. Until a turn of events alters their lives and they are faced with their past once again. I loved the ending, as always we get a tease of what the next book in the series is going to be about and I can’t wait to read it! :)

Yeah, me too. Except, I sent my latest Tales of a Naughty Virgin column detailing my fantasies about my hot, charming, thoroughly bangable next-door-neighbor to…MY ENTIRE COMPANY.

Did I mention I’m a children’s book editor?

Well, I was.

*Facepalm*

At least the column goes viral, but I’m still the gal who gets fired for her not-safe-for-work thoughts about the so-called “Mister Sexy Pants.”

Now I need a job stat, so I jump on the first opportunity. And I come face to face with my new boss.
Mr. Sexy Pants himself.

Item number one on my to-do list? Make sure my boss never finds out his alter ego…since all of New York knows I want Mister Sexy Pants to punch my virgin club card.

Contents Include: A sexy and clever romp of an MF, dual-POV, mistaken identity romantic comedy, complete with dating mishaps, sizzling sexual tension, a hot nerd of a boss hero, a chaotically delightful heroine, an awkward incident with glitter, and a virgin’s NSFW to-do list.

My Review:

In the first book in The Dating Games Series, Blakely delivers a light hearted and steamy romance in The Virgin Next Door. This entertaining read will leave you wanting for more!

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Veronica Valentine, editor at McGee Whitney Books for Young Readers. She loves working for the publishing world and has her eyes on a promotion that would ultimately make her one of the best editors at McGee. But that dream is quickly crushed the minute she sends out the wrong email to the whole staff. Now they know that Veronica is behind, The Virgin Column and she is horrified. In her latest post, she details how she met Mister Sexy Pants, but doesn’t see him again. Unfortunately for her that also means the end of her job as an editor and Veronica doesn’t know what to do. She has to find a temporary job while she finds another job in publishing. Then the unexpected happens and she finds a job as a florist manager for Bikes and Blooms, in which the owner happens to be Mister Sexy Pants himself. It’s clear that there is a connection between them from the very start, and no matter how much Veronica wants to keep things professional between them, fate keeps bringing them together.

As the owner of Bikes and Blooms, Milo want’t expecting to see Miss Polka Dot again after meeting for the first time at a restaurant. It’s now a month later and they happen to bump into each other again as she takes her dog for a walk. She unexpectedly flashes all of New York city and he is taken by her right away. But ever since his last relationship did not go as well as he hoped, Milo has decided to not date anyone for a while. His sole purpose is to make his business a success and that also means hiring a new florist manager. Thought his thoughts keep going back to the mysterious woman that he can’t stop thinking about. Until she comes back into his life again to apply for the new position, she is smart and funny. While the job is only temporary, Milo finds himself thinking of the possibly at a future together if only he can get her to see that they might just be meant for each other.

I loved reading The Virgin Next Door, there were lots of sweet and highly entertaining moments as well. What made the book stand out to me were the main characters’ pets. They are important to the story and they just make the story that much cuter. Veronica is not afraid to go for what she wants and I loved the fact that she kept pushing through when it came to her job. Milo truly compliments her so well and they need each other in order to give their relationship a fair shot. The ending was adorable and it perfect lead to the next book in the series. I would highly recommend checking out this book and I cannot wait to read the next book as well. :)

Can he live without her sunshine to warm his cold heart?
Or can this cowboy learn a new trick?

Author's Note: Heat and heart fills the pages as our heroine learns to ride a horse and tame a grumpy cowboy in rural Alberta.

My Review:

In the fifth book in the Vested Interest: ABC Cops Series, Sunshine and Sammy, Moreland delivers a heartwarming second chance romance. This sweet and steamy story between a cowboy and a city girl will leave you wanting for more!

As an independent DIY business starter, Samantha “Sammy” Morrison has been able to take her skills and turn them into a very successful business. She receives hundreds of letters from people with business ideas that need help with the details and the execution as well. It’s her job to pick one of those businesses to help and film the process that will be feature on a popular TV show. Sammy has recently signed on to help a family-owned ranch in Alberta. According to the brother and sister who own it, they want to add a tourist element on the ranch. Sammy is excited to get to River Rock Ranch, but doesn’t get the best of welcomes when she gets left behind at the airport by the brother, Luke, who he thought Sam was a man not a woman.

Confused, Sammy heads to the ranch and puts her foot down with the grumpy owner who wants her to leave. They have signed a contract and she isn’t going anywhere. Luke apologizes and agrees to let her do her job. But he pushes her buttons at every idea and gaining his trust is going to take some time. There is something about the cowboy that intrigues Sammy, not only is she attracted to him, but the more time they spend together, the more she begins to develop feelings for Luke. But her time at the ranch is coming to an end and she has decide if it’s worth pursuing a relationship with him worth it or walk away altogether.

For Luke Adler selling River Rock Ranch is not an option as it has been in his family for three generations. When his sister suggests for them to start a business as well, Luke is skeptical that it might work. His life is the ranch and his employees depend on it to do well. He thought that the professional they contacted to help them was going to be a no-nonsense businessman. What Luke was’t expecting to bump into was a gorgeous woman waiting for him at the airport. He thinks that she is going to be a high-maintenance city girl, reminding him of his past and how that ended up messing up his life. He is not interested in ever settling down or starting a family. But Sammy is feisty and ready to challenge his orders at every turn. She brings out a new side of him that he grows to like, but he can’t tie her to a life a ranch forever. She deserves so much that he can’t give her no matter how much he wants to keep her in his life.

I truly enjoyed reading Sunshine and Sammy, their banter was entertaining and their moments together were sweet. It’s clear that Luke has been hurt in the past and Sammy is able to bring him the happiness that he deserves. We see them grow in different ways as they start to let go of their pasts. Their families are important to them and we get to see them interact with each other. We also get cameos from previous characters as well. The ending was heartwarming and emotional. I would highly recommend checking out this story and any others by the author, they will not disappoint. :)
