🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Private Player by Louise Bay

Private Player by Louise Bay

Release Date: July 27th 2021
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

The first time I meet Madison Shore, I’m greeted by her knickers. She’s upside down and trying to untangle herself from my chair at a wedding.

I get to see a whole lot more of her later that night.

The second time I meet Madison Shore is in my London office. Turns out she’s a journalist writing an article about me. To keep control of my company, I need to convince people I’m more serious about business than my playboy reputation suggests. Madison holds my future in her hands.

Now I just need to convince the woman I took to bed on Saturday night that I'm not the player everyone thinks I am.

Private Player is stand-alone novel with brand new characters that have never been seen in any previous books.

My Review:

Not having read other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Private Player. Needless to say, Louise Bay delivers a sizzling romance filled with steamy swoon worthy moments to keep you reading until the very end.

While Nathan Cove should have been enjoying the wedding of one of his closest friends, he is anxiously waiting to hear from Gretel, who handles his PR. The Sunday Mercury intends to publish a story about him that could damage his career and possibly get him fired by the board he’d created. As the youngest CEO the FTSE 100 has ever seen, Nathan has accumulated a lot of success and is often scrutinized by the media when it comes to his private life.

It only took one photo of him with a married woman to have the media calling him a playboy and a cheater. Now he has to act fast before he loses the company he worked so hard to make a success. Gretel sets him him up with a journalist from the Post, to have an all-access pass to him and he agrees. Then Madison Shore comes into his life, both finding themselves sitting right next to each other at the reception. Neither of them particularly loves weddings, but he finds himself charmed by her beauty and wit. They have instant chemistry and they end up having a magical one-night stand. Parting ways was difficult than he realized, but he is in no position to have an actual relationship. What Nathan wasn’t prepared for was to see Madison again under different circumstances, she is the journalist that Gretel set up him up with. Now he has to convince her that he is not what the media portrayed him to be while also trying to keep his growing feelings for her to himself.

As a journalist, Madison Shore loves to immerse herself in a subject and getting to know people in a deeper level, to get under their skin or find out what makes them tick. It’s her dream to get a job at the Post and when she gets the chance to cover for a writer there she is excited to prove that she can deliver the type of stories that they are looking for. This is her chance to prove that she can do more than just write for a gossip column. It would take a wardrobe malfunction to change the course of her life forever. Madison has heard all about the rich CEO who is constantly all over newspapers, but getting to know Nathan at the wedding gives her a new perspective of him. Their one-night stand should have been put in the past, but life had other plans and she ends up being assigned to write a profile story on Nathan. As the two spend more time together, the more she starts to see and understand a whole new side of Nathan that the public doesn’t see, but there is something that she isn’t telling him and that could threaten their future together.

I enjoyed reading Private Player, it was engaging and sweet to read. We have two characters who have a sizzling attraction toward each other and neither of them expect to see one another again until they do. Both of them are trying to prove themselves, that they can fulfill their dreams and make those closest to them proud. But there is a lot more to Nathan than what Madison originally thought and vice versa. As the two begin to lean on each other, they soon find themselves trying to overcome obstacles coming their way. All in all, the ending was very fitting for the characters and if you love a good steamy billionaire romance that I would highly recommend checking this one out! :)

My Rating:

Meet Louise Bay:

USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful (not currently on sale as undergoing maintenance!), Hopeful, The Empire State Series, The Nights Collection, The Royals Collection, and The Gentleman Collection (these are series of stand alone books each following different characters). Louise’s most recent novel is Mr. Mayfair which is available now!

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, The West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
