My Review:

The Hometown Hoax is a funny and romantic read that will leave you wanting for more...

Ever since Tessa Cutter left her tiny hometown for the busy city of Manhattan, she has failed miserably to pursuit her artistic dream. Hoping to get feature at a gallery, she has sent some of her best work to just about every gallery in NYC, but has only received no as an answer. With nothing to hold her back, she decides to go back home to a camping trip with her family, but she has to come up with a way to distract her family from keep telling her to come back home. Tessa has escaped town for a reason, and she doesn't want to go back to the life where she had everyone's eyes on her. But when she does get home, she ends up meeting a stranger on her way there and soon things start to turn for the worse. When she finds out that the stranger happens to be her brother-in-law's friend, she does everything in her power to make him miserable in front of her family. Yet as the two start to get to know each other better, she realizes just how much her hometown means to her, but if she is to give Logan a chance she will have to leave her dreams of becoming successful in the city behind, which she doesn't want to do.

Logan Ridley grew up in Manhattan, so he is familiar with the excitement of the big city, yet it was the city that left him broke and with no job. His dreams of having his own gym have been crushed, and that left him with no other place to go, except to the little town of Cutter's Creek. But being an outsider in a town where everyone seems to be about everyone is not easy to get used to at first, but when he gets invited to a camping trip with the Cutter family he quickly accepts. Soon he meets Tessa Cutter and the two have undeniable chemistry that only makes him that much more interested in her, yet finding out that her life is in the city with her boyfriend he decides to step back, only to find out that he might just have a chance with her if he convinces her that Cutter Creek is not bad after all.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it was hilarious and sweet. The chemistry between the characters keeps growing throughout the book and that alone had me reading until the very end. Though the characters have their own issues, the town of Cutter Creek becomes a sanctuary for them as the two try to move on from their pasts. Tessa's family was funny and devious in the book that caused a lot of trouble for Tessa and Logan, but that caused the two main characters to realize just how much they loved each other. In terms of personalities, Tessa is a fire cracker, and will say whatever is on her mind. Whereas, Logan is more calm and collective in all sorts of situations. He tries to make things work, and he is willing to go back to the city if it means being with the woman that he loves (which I absolutely loved!). Overall, the writing was great and if you are looking for a romantic story filled with hilarious moments then I would highly recommend reading this book!. :)

I don't tend to go for books where one of the characters is anti-small towns but I am also a sucker for a couple with great chemistry :) Also, Logan sounds amazing! Great review, Jackie, and thanks for sharing!
