She needs his help, but he has a price...
Having missed out on the "drop-dead-gorgeous" gene in her family, Ann Snyder decides to kick a little butt in the business world instead. That is, until her skeezy manager's "side business" has the FDA raiding her chocolate shop. Now Ann's in huge trouble...and the only person who can help her is the adorkable guy who completely humiliated her in high school.
Lawyer Eric Maxwell has been in love with Ann as long as he can remember. He figured he never stood a chance-don't the beautiful girls always prefer the bad boys to the nerds? So he makes Ann a deal. He'll provide her with free legal services...if she'll move in and help transform him from nerd-without-a-clue to bona fide bad boy.
And once the transition is complete, all he has to do is prove that he's the only bachelor for her...

My Review:
Stealing the Bachelor is a book about two complete opposites that work together towards a new beginning.
Ann Snyder may not always have the best of lucks, but after starting her chocolate business everything started to change. She became very successful and she had no reason to doubt why her business was booming. Little did she know that her manger/boyfriend had a secret of his own by creating a side business, one that would ultimately cost Ann the very same business that she worked so hard to open on her own. Now Ann is in serious trouble with the FDA and the IRS has withhold everything that she had in the bank. Without knowing what else to do, Ann turns to the guy that humiliated her in high school for help, Eric Maxwell.
Eric Maxwell has had a very successful career as a lawyer so far, and after Ann asks for his help he is more than willing to help her out. After all, he has been head over heals in love with her ever since high school, but in order for him to help he is going to need her help along the way. His plan is to provide his legal services in exchange for her to help him transform him into a bad boy (the guy that she would typically like). Ann agrees, but everything changes when the two of them start to get along. Their secrets are out in the open and it is then that Eric will have to convince Ann that their relationship could actually work.
I liked the overall idea of the book, but it didn't quite work for me. I've read other works by the author before, and they were all great. Yet, Stealing the Bachelor didn't have enough background and character development for me to fully enjoy the story. Eric to me sounded like your typical guy who is not nerdy at all, he just wanted to change for Ann, which it didn't end up going as well as he would have liked. On the other hand, Ann is tough and she cared for her business, but she has been hurt by guys many times in the past that it's hard for her to let her guard down when she is with Eric. As the two of them start to spend more time together, the more they start to realize that they deserve a second chance. Had their been a better execution, the book would have turned out great. Anyway, if you are looking for a very quick read that will not contain a lot of details, yet it's romantic and has a good ending then I would suggest reading this book. :)
