Question: Is there a book that you were required to read in school that you actually loved? - Suggested by
Answer: Yes! There were a lot of books that I had to read and still do (since I'm still in school) that I really enjoyed reading. For example: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, Beloved by Toni Morrison, among others. I've read these in high school and I completely fell in love with them. My ultimate favorite though would have to be One Hundred Years of Solitude, I highly recommend it. (:

Nice! Think I only had to read Gatsby from this batch. The rest were not required reading. That I can remember! LOL! Too many years of reading books I hated. Though it wasn't until I was a senior that I finally read one and liked it!

I agree with you on The Great Gatsby! I loved that book :) But we'll have to agree to disagree on Wuthering Heights. I couldn't stand it!

I've read The Great Gatsby. I hated it mainly because as we read we had to write down every instance of a mentioned color, which made it so I wasn't really reading it for the content.

@Jessica @ a GREAT read
I was required to read way too many books in high school, a few that I didn't really liked, but the most part I enjoyed the rest. Thanks for stopping by Jessica! (:

Great list. I need to check out One Hundred Years of Solitude. I read several really good to great books as must-reads.

The Great Gatsby was pretty good! Forgot about that one! Thanks for visiting my F&F!
I didn't like The Great Gatsby, so I didn't read it for class. I've only seen movie versions of Wuthering Heights.

I totally agree with your choice of "One Hundred Years of Solitude"! Although the plot is complex, and just about everybody's last name is "Buendia", it's a true masterpiece!
As for the other books you've mentioned, I haven't read them, but now would be a great time to plan on doing so!
Thanks for your thoughts! Old follower. : )

Hopping through. I really want to read some Marquez. I've meant to forever.
