Only for Her by Cristin Harber
Release Date: March 17th 2015 by Mill Creek Press
Series: Only #2
Pages: 82
Genre: New Adult, Romance, Contemporary
The second installment in the Only series. Must read book one first!!
First loves never die but Grayson Ford comes close. Bleeding out in a war zone, he barters with God. Bring him back alive, and he'll make it right with his girl.
All I want is Emma. I need her, and I fight for her memory. A story. A smile. Anything. But it's all blank .
Emma is not his girl anymore. Time has skipped by and life's been hard. She strips to pay the bills, waitresses to fill the hours between classes and her third job. All while working to be the best mama she can be to the little girl who will never know her daddy. Even though Grayson abandoned her, she mourned his death. Until he calls, and everything she knew was wrong.
It's him. The him that ruined my life. That made my life. That confused my mind to the point that I can't figure out if I've been destroyed or set free. The him that... is... dead.
He's back with one objective--Emma Kingsley--and she never sees it coming.

My Review:
Only For Her continues on where we left of at end of Only Him, the first novella in the Only Series. In the second novella we really get to know the characters more as they face their struggles of growing up.
When I read the first novella, I wasn't too impressed with how things ended, and how it all just seemed too rushed. But having ended with a cliffhanger really got me interested in reading the second novella fast! Needless to say, I really enjoyed reading Only For Her a lot more, it felt real and I couldn't stop myself from keep on reading the whole novella until the very end. Like I mentioned before, Emma and Grayson's story continue on, this time they have to face with the consequences of their actions, and some unexpected surprises that may or may not bring them back together.
Grayson has been at war for some time now, away from his old life and the girl he left behind. Now having seen the danger and the death of his friends, he is determined to heal his wounds. This time he is planning to go back to his old town, and beg Emma for a second chance. But what he uncovers the minute she lets him in to her house chances everything for him.
After having spent time with Grayson, Emma is devastated when he leaves her without saying goodbye. She soon finds out that she is pregnant with Grayson's baby, and he is not going to be in their lives to see the baby grow. Now she is determined to make ends meet, while also taking care of her education, and her daughter. When she gets the news that Grayson died, she looses the only hope that she had left to be able to move on. Her daughter is going to grow up without a father, and that hurts her. But fate works in many different ways, because the minute she receives a call from Grayson her life turns upside down.
There were a lot of things that I liked about this particular novella, there is a certain amount of character development in both characters. Grayson is the one that has always struggled with letting go of the past, and now that he discovers that he has a daughter, he is afraid of becoming his father. Whereas, Emma completely turns her life around, all to be able to take care of her daughter. She is independent, and wants to make something of herself, yet she had to grow up a lot faster after becoming a single-parent. Overall, the story really has me captivated. I enjoyed the writing, and the plot has been consistent throughout the first two novellas. I'm not sure how many more there are going to be in the series, but I would have liked to see the whole story in a full novel, instead of breaking it down into small pieces. It would have worked a lot better, but that's my opinion. I still highly recommend it. ;)
