๐ŸŒŸRELEASE DAY REVIEW!๐ŸŒŸ Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan

Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: October 15th 2018 by Kendall Ryan
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***

He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

My Review:

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, this second chance romance will leave you swooning and wanting for more. It comes to no surprise that Kendall Ryan is one of my favorite authors, she knows how to deliver a great romance and Dear Jane did not disappoint at all.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Jane Royce who happens to be the assistant manager for the Hawks. As a huge fan herself, she is happy to work with her favorite team and with her dad. But being the daughter of the head coach can make things a bit difficult so she works non stop in order to prove that she got the job for herself and not because of her dad. But it’s one news that completely throws her off the loop and she now has to face her ex as he joins the team.Weston Chase was her first and only long-term boyfriend who she experienced many firsts with back when they were together. Yet, that didn’t stop him from breaking her hear after leaving for college and ever since she vowed to avoid him at any cost. Nevertheless, time has changed both of them in so many ways that seeing him again has brought back memories of the love and attraction that they once had for each other. No matter what she does, Jane is more drawn to Weston than ever before. As the two spend more time together, she starts to realize just how much she misses him, but she holds a secret from him, one that could ultimately end things between them if she doesn’t tell him soon.

Weston Chase has the looks and money to get just about anyone he would want. But after going through so many changes in his life, he all too happy to switch teams but he never expected to see Jane again. It takes him by surprise at first, but when it’s evident that she is avoiding him he takes it upon himself to clear the air with her which does not end up turning out like he had hoped. She is angry with him for a reason and it is when she finally tells him what happened all those years ago after he left that he is overwhelmed with anger and grief. He knows that they have to move on from their past, but he broke her heart once and he is scared of hurting her heart once again. Now he’ll have to figure out how to win her back completely before it’s too late.

I absolutely loved Dear Jane, it was funny, sweet and totally swoon worthy! Jane is a strong character in the book who is not going to back down without a fight and she is doing that at job every day. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it. On the other hand, Weston is such a playboy whose heart has been devoted to Jane from the very start. He is overprotective towards her and he wants her back. The story is told in dual point-of-view which was great, because we got to truly see how the characters reacted to things individually or their reasons behind a their decisions. It’s evident that Jane and Wes have a complicated past that they have to let go, and as the two spend time to reconnect that’s exactly what they end up doing. The ending was one of my favorite part, it was unique and romantic. The epilogue will leave you satisfied and swooning over the characters. It was truly a great read that I would highly recommend checking out and others by the author. :)
