He never noticed her before, but now she’s all he can see…

Miles Carlisle is every teen girl’s fantasy. His rugged good looks and exotic British accent have helped catapult his boy band, Seconds to Juliet, to super-stardom. But after two disastrous and very public breakups, Miles isn’t interested in dating just any girl; he wants The One. And the only girl he’s interested in is not only his best friend’s little sister―and off-limits―but won’t even give him the time of day…

As a kid, Aimee Bingham had a huge thing for Miles…until he made fun of her for always tagging along. Now that she’s outgrown both him and her pigtails. the prospect of spending two weeks on tour with the childhood crush who broke her heart isn’t exactly enticing. Except now Miles seems interested. Very interested. And no matter how hard Aimee tries to resist him, her crush is definitely making a comeback.

But everyone knows that falling for a heartthrob is a backstage pass to heartbreak…

My Review:

Aside from loving the cover, the book is definitely a must-read!

Not having read any other books by Ophelia London before, I was impressed with the story line of this book, and the well-thought out characters. In Aimee and the Heartthrob, Ophelia London explores the possibilities of a girl's dream coming true when her childhood friend/crush finally notices her after been apart for years.

Aimee Bingham is a self proclaimed fan of S2J (Seconds to Juliet), although she had to pretty much hide her fanthom after having her heart crushed by Miles Carlisle when they were kids. Now after not been in contact with Miles, it's her summer break, and to her surprise her parents have have decided to send her on tour with Mile's band. Not only will she be in close proximity of Miles, but she is also going to be accompanied by her older brother, Nick (Mile's best friend). Amiee has made a promise to herself that she is going to forget Miles, and move on. But the minute he starts to show interest in her, Aimme can no longer deny the feelings that she has for him anymore, and that's when their story truly begins.

Miles Carlisle wasn't always called a heartthrob, or imagined he would be famous one day. Nope, his old life was anything but perfect. After his father left him and his mom, Miles' life turned upside down. Moving to the U.S. seemed like a good idea when he was young, but he didn't imagined that his life was about to change forever after forming his now super famous boy band, Seconds to Juliet. But everyone holds secrets, and Miles' past isn't as pretty as anyone would have thought. Now he is determined to give it his everything to the band's summer tour, but that soon changes after seeing his old friend, Aimee, and soon he discovers that his number one fan and love was in front of him even before he became a heartthrob in front of the world.

I absolutely loved this book, it was a light read that I couldn't put down. Miles is by far one of my all time favorite male characters, he is charming, and he just knows what to say to girl to make her blush! I love the chemistry that he had with Aimee, and how easy their friendship turned into something more. It was pretty obvious that they both had crushes on each other for a while, but since Miles is touring the world with his band, it was hard for them to develop an actual relationship. Nick is an overprotective brother, and also Miles' best friend. He is the only one that knows Miles' past, and he is aware of Miles' status as a heartthrob, so he lets Miles know that his sister is off-limits. Which makes things harder for both Miles and Aimee to be in actual relationship. On the other hand, Aimee is a free spirit, who loves to read and write reviews on just about anything on her blog. That's one of the things that I liked about her, she is a girl that anyone can relate to. The story starts off with Aimee learning about her summer plans, then as she and Miles start to grow closer things slowly start to fall apart for the two of them. The conflict revolves around a misunderstanding that didn't quite made a huge impact in the characters' lives or personalities. That's what I didn't like as much of the story, although I loved the overall romance in the book, the conflict was small and solved too quickly. But the very end was one of my favorite scenes, it fit really well with the story, and I enjoyed it. Overall, the writing was on point in the book, from the characters to the story line, everything really worked out. I highly recommend the book, I will certainly be reading more of Ophelia London in the future. :)
