Enough laughs to satisfy fans of Bridget Jones. Enough sparkly shoes and breathtaking ball gowns for fans of Cinderella…

Twenty-eight-year-old Tessa Sharpe, a.k.a. The Royal Watchdog, hates everything about Prince Arthur. As far as she’s concerned, he’s an arrogant, lazy leech on the kingdom of Avonia. When he shocks the nation by giving her the keys to the castle in an attempt to boost his family’s dismal public approval ratings, Tessa has no choice but to accept and move in for two months. It’s lust at first sight, but there’s no way she can give in to her feelings—not if she wants to have a career or a shred of pride left when her time at the palace ends.

Ultra-private, ultra-hot Crown Prince Arthur has always gotten by on his charm. But that won’t be enough now that the Royal Family is about to be ousted from power once and for all. When Prince Arthur has to rely on the one woman in the kingdom who hates him most, he must learn that earning the love of a nation means first risking his heart…

Can two natural enemies find their forever in each other’s arms, or will they ruin each other to save themselves?

My Review:

Not having read any other works by M.J. Summers before, I was really impressed with how well she executed the story. It's not your typical girl- falling- in-love- with- a- prince type of story, but rather it brings all kinds of topics together with a sense of a refreshing humor that had me reading until the very end. From the beautiful cover to the attention grabbing synopsis, The Royal Treatment is set to become your next favorite book of the year.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Tessa, a blogger whose critical eye towards the royal family has made her a sensation among those that want to abolish the monarchy. Though she is proud of what she has accomplished, Tessa still feels that she will never get to accomplish what her siblings have. They all have careers of their own to make their parents proud and after what happened to her in her last job, Tessa is definitely feeling not her best. So in an attempt to make something of her own, Tessa starts a blog that would ultimately change her life forever. It is through her posts that she gets invited to live in the castle for a month to see what the royals really do for the country when they're not partying. Tessa only gets to see what others in Avonia do when they see the royal family, but to Prince Arthur is nothing but a playboy and arrogant prince who spends his time spending the country's money.  Yet, it is when they meet for the first time that sparks began to fly and as the two start to spend more time together, the more she begins to realize that she might just have been wrong the whole time. Now it'll be up to her to save her reputation and the relationship with Arthur before it's too late.

When Prince Arthur decided to invite Tessa Sharpe to the castle everyone thought he was out of his mind, but it had to be done if they wanted to preserve the monarchy. Now the ultra private prince finds himself charming a women that might just save his family, without realizing that he might just be falling for her in the end. But will putting his trust in Tessa really save his family from downfall?

I was thoroughly pleased with this story, it was witty and heartwarming. The characters go from being natural enemies to finding true love in each other's arms. It is clear that they don't see eye-to-eye at the beginning, but the more time Tessa spends at the castle the more she see just how of a hard-worker Arthur really is. Tessa is courageous, she stands up to her anyone, but when it comes to her family she doesn't know what to do. She has strong opinions and makes them heard as well as seen in her blog. On the other hand, Arthur is charming and can be strong headed at times. They are perfect together and that is exactly what kept me reading nonstop. The secondary characters that we get to meet are hilarious, especially Arthur's grandmother. The ending was so sweet and I cannot wait to read what happens next with the characters in the second book. I would highly recommend reading it if you're looking for a good laugh as well as romantic story.
