The Wright Boss by K.A. Linde
Release Date: May 16th 2017 by K.A. Linde Inc.
Genres: Romance, Contemporary
A new stand alone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...
I’ve always had one rule:
Don’t mix business and pleasure.
But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window.
If only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.
We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.
Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.
My Review:
After reading The Wright Brother, I knew that I had to read The Wright Boss right after that. Though they are not necessarily part of a series, you can read about previous characters that are feature in this book. Landon Wright has been through a lot in the past couple of years, not only is his marriage driving him crazy, but his career has come to a halt making him unable to do what he loves the most. Now he is back home and after having a steamy encounter with Heidi, his ex's best friend, things start to get complicated. He can't stop thinking about her, but the remainder that he is still married make things a whole lot worse especially when Heidi feels the same way for him. They know that their relationship can't go any further. It is then that Landon decides to divorce his wife, the only problem is that his wife doesn't want to divorce him and now he happens to be Heidi's new boss. As the two start to get to know more about each other it slowly becomes evident that neither one is ready to let go of their feelings towards one another. The only question now is just how ready they are to truly leave everything behind to be together.
Heidi has worked hard to be where she is now in her career, when a new promotion presents itself to her, she knows that she has what it takes to get the job done. Needless to say, she wasn't prepared to find herself in love with her new boss. One of her rules is to not involve herself romantically with anyone at work, and now things with Landon could potentially hurt her professionally. As the two begin to develop deeper feelings towards each other, the more she questions if putting her job at risk is worth it or not.
I really enjoyed reading the dynamic between the characters in this book. Heidi is a talented and strong woman. She knows what she wants and knows exactly how to get it, but that all changes when she meets Landon. He is not only kind to her, but also knows the value of having a career. As a professional golf player, he knows how important is it to maintain a good career, but that doesn't last very long because after having an injury he had to stop playing. Facing career problems as well as personal problems with his marriage has taken its toll on him. The characters will have to learn to leave everything behind and learn to compromise if they want a future together. Overall, the author did a good job making the characters relatable and the ending was so sweet that it will most definitely leave you wanting for more. I would highly recommend reading this book and The Wright Brother as well. :)
