My Review:
From the cover the intriguing synopsis, Royally Flushed had me hooked from beginning to end. It was a good romance filled with mysterious twists and turns.
In the story we get to meet Corrine Woods, she works for Soleil Energy as the executive assistant to the CEO, Jackson Graham. Her job is fulfilling, but also very demanding. She has to constantly talk to women who are after her boss and often does damage control when she has to. But it’s after her boyfriend publicly moves on from their relationship that things start to turn ugly for her. Not only is Corrine getting threats, but her workspace and home get ransacked. With no one else to turn to, her boss offers to help her. He is kind and attentive towards her from the start. He is aware of valuable she is to him and the company. It’s when they start to spend more time together that things begin to change. She knows that there can never be anything between them. Yet, Jackson keeps wanting a future with her. It’ll be up to Corrine to truly figure out if she can put her past behind her and open up to the person that has been constant from the very beginning.
Jackson Graham is the founder of an alternative energy company that has made him a billionaire. But no matter how much money he has, he can’t seem to get away from all the women that want him for his money only. He has worked so hard to get to where he is that he doesn’t see himself settling down, until he meets Corrine. She takes very good care of him and makes sure that he is at his best. He is ready to bring to market a new product that will bring him more money, but when things don’t go that way he plans Jackson has to figure out who is out to get him. Not only is he worried about his company, but also for Corrine as well. He will protect her no matter what. It’s when feelings get involved that he needs to figure out a way to make Corrine see that he might just be her forever before it’s too late.
I really liked the overall concept of the story. It was intriguing, sexy and full of mystery. Corrine is smart and independent. She truly is valuable to the company that she works for. On the other hand, Jackson is kind and protective. He wants to keep Corrine safe and he is willing to trust her to make decisions even when he is not there. They are good partners and their chemistry is sizzling from the very start. The element of mystery kept the story interesting. Now I did have a problem with how the story was executed at end. I thought it felt too rushed for me and it could have been developed a bit further. The ending was abrupt and I don’t know if it was intentional since this is in on going series or if it was meant to end the way it did. I honestly don’t think the story can be read as a standalone, the rest of the secondary characters are heavily involved in the book that I found myself confused with what was happening at times. Since I have no prior knowledge of the first book, it would have been helpful to have read it first before reading this book (even though the story is intended to focus on just Corrine and Jackson). Overall, the story was still a good read and I’m definitely interested in reading the next book in the series.

Currently, Ainsley is in the midst of writing a nine-book series called “Venture Capitalist.”
When she isn’t being a bookworm or typing away her next story on her computer, Ainsley enjoys spending quality family time with her loved ones.
