🔖 BLOG TOUR 🔖 Dark Prince by Michelle Hercules {REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!}

Dark Prince by Michelle Hercules

Release Date: April 1st 2020
Series: Blueblood Vampires #1
Genres: Paranormal, Romance

He’s the predator in the night.
Cold. Ruthless. Hungry.
She’s the prey that can’t stay away.

There are only two ways a human can cross the gates of Bloodstone Institute: as a familiar to one of the Blueblood vampires who attend the elite school or as a snack.

I’m neither, but I have to get in at all costs. My brother made a big mistake, and now I have to fix it by stealing from the most powerful and cruel vampire to ever come to Bloodstone, Lucca Della Morte. If that wasn’t almost suicidal, I need to get it done before the spell concealing my human nature wears off.

But I forget that I’m only pretending to be a vampire. I’m still human and susceptible to Lucca’s dangerous allure. His darkness calls to my soul. His savagery makes my blood sing. I’m falling for the dark prince, craving him in a visceral way that’s frightening and exciting at the same time.

If he discovers my secret, he’ll destroy me. And yet, I can’t help wanting to get closer. I never thought I had a death wish until I met him.

My Review:

Michelle Hercules has managed to create her own vampire story with a twist. Dark Prince is intriguing, seductive and incredibly addicting.

We are introduced to Vivienne, an eighteen-year-old who is the singer in the band, Nocturnal. She is getting ready to head to New York with her bandmates when gets a call that she was not expecting. Her brother, Rikkon, is in trouble and she is the only one that can get him back from a ruthless dragon kingpin. She is told that if she wants to see her brother again, she will have to steal a bloodstone necklace from non other than Lucca Della Morte, a Bluebood vampire prince.

This leads to unexpected events as she gets enrolled at Bloodstone Institute where she will pretend to be vampire thanks to a magic potion. All to get access to one of the most powerful vampires, but she quickly realizes that stealing from Lucca would be difficult as the more time they spend together, the more drawn she is to him. She has deep feelings for him that she cannot explain, and she will soon find out that there are powerful forces that will do anything to keep them apart.

Lucca Della Morte is well known as the Dark Prince. He is ruthless in battle and able to kill his enemies without mercy. He also happens to be second-generation Blueblood and next in line to be king. But he was cursed by the Nightingale Queen and now he must hibernate for a certain amount of time. But each time is longer than the last and Lucca must find end to the curse or he won’t wake up next time he goes into hibernation. He never expected to meet someone like Vivienne at the Institute, but he can’t stay away. It’s until he finds out her secret that he must decide if he wants to keep her alive or see where his feelings might take him.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dark Prince, it was such a page-turner! It was also such a world building book that it was packed with so much information about the characters and setting. There is so much more than just Vivienne and Lucca’s story. We get to learn about their pasts as well as get to know more about the important characters in the book. Without a doubt, their chemistry was intense and sizzling! Both Vivienne and Lucca seem to be drawn to each other like magnets and we get to learn why in the book as well. My only criticism is on how the book ended, the main character’s story ends yet it felt like a cliffhanger because the second book will be in the same world, but will focus on other characters (if the makes sense.) I would have liked it for Vivienne and Lucca’s story to keep going as we were left with a lot of unanswered questions. Other than that, the story has true potential and will highly recommend it. I will certainly be reading the next book in the series and other books by the author. :)

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
