πŸ”– REVIEW πŸ”– From Best Friend to Bride by Emma Hart

From Best Friend to Bride by Emma Hart

Release Date: August 22, 2025
Pages: 438
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Would you marry your best friend to fulfil her dying grandmother’s last wish?

From New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes a brand-new romantic comedy about how no good deed goes unpunished… AKA, the perils of marrying your best friend and accidentally falling stupidly in love with them.

When I find out my grandma only has weeks to live, the last thing I expect her to say is that her dying wish is to see me married.

The only problem is that I am the furthest thing from getting married a girl can be.

Broken-hearted I can’t fulfil her dreams, I seek comfort in my best friend, Fred… Who proposes to me on the spot.

The agreement is we’ll get married quickly and quietly, I’ll temporarily move into the estate he inherited as the Earl of Coventry, and we’ll get an annulment when the time comes.

Nana will never know.

Nothing between us will change.

In the end, it’ll be like our marriage never happened, and we’ll go right back to being best friends.

Until I realise that Fred is a man. A hot-blooded, hard-muscled, big di—ahem—man.

Nana always said that the best laid plans are the most fun to rip up, and maybe we should do just that…

My Review:

You know it’s an Emma Hart book if it’s filled with quirky banter and lots of heartfelt humor. From Best Friend to Bride delivers just that and so much more!

The story follows Delilah Peters as she learns that her grandmother doesn’t have a lot time left and her only wish is to see her get married. Without a second thought Delilah turns to her best friend for comfort and help. Having grown up together, Fred Wellington knows everything about her and considers her family like his own. He’ll do anything for her and if it means permanently marrying her to see her grandma happy then Fred is wiling to do it. Neither of them were expecting to develop feelings for each other in the process. Now they have to decide if giving a relationship a chance is worth it or maintain their longtime friendship.

I loved the overall concept of the story and how Hart was able to give us iconic characters in the process. What makes this book stand out to me is how both families are able to come together and support one another. They might not be connected by blood, but they are still a tight knit family. Their grandmothers’ are hilarious and entertaining. Delilah and Fred’s chemistry is sizzling and things get steamy. Once they live under the same roof is hard for them to ignore their dormant feelings for each other. Fred is truly there for Delilah and he doesn’t want to see her get hurt by someone else. So, there is the protectiveness that he has towards her that turns into something more. Overall, i would highly recommend checking out this story and any other by the author. There are some of my favorite books, you will not regret it! :)

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Boss of the Year by Nicole French

Boss of the Year by Nicole French

Release Date: August 15, 2025
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He’s her brooding, off-limits boss. She’s his brother’s newest flame…and the weakness he’s craved for years.

She never expected to come face-to-face with Lucas Lyons—the grumpy, gorgeous CEO of the entire Lyons empire and the older brother of her long-forgotten crush.

Once upon a time, Marie had been just the invisible girl in the back of the estate kitchen. Now? She’s confident, capable, and no longer easy to ignore.

Especially not by Lucas.

He sees her now. And it’s a problem.

***

Lucas Lyons—head of the Lyons family empire, perfectionist, older brother to the man who used to make Marie’s teenage heart flutter—sees his beautiful personal chef as a complication. A distraction he doesn’t need. A girl he has no business wanting.

Especially now that his younger brother is suddenly very interested in Marie himself.

Lucas knows she’s too young. Too bold. Too tempting.

But the closer they get, the more dangerous the line between forbidden and inevitable becomes.

For a man like Lucas, giving in means losing control. And falling for Marie Zola?

Might just ruin them both.

*Boss of the Year is a Sabrina-inspired boss-employee romance that does NOT include cheating, but does include a lot of angst. If you’re not up for drama, this isn’t your cup of tea.

My Review:

As the second book in the Belmont Billionaires Series, Boss of the Year focus on the much anticipated story of Marie Zola and Lucas Lyons. French delivers a slow burn sizzling romance that will leave you wanting for more!

For the past ten years, Marie Zola has worked for the Lyons family and ever since then she’s developed feelings for the Daniel Lyons. As the youngest in the Lyons family, Daniel is everything she’s ever wanted and hopes to catch his attention. Yet, as a wallflower Marie has always been invisible. When the opportunity of a lifetime presents itself, she takes it to go to Paris to attend a culinary school. Knowing that in a year, she’ll be back as the official chef for the family. Little did she know that coming back a changed person would attract more attention than she originally wanted. Placing her in between the two Lyons’s brothers to try to win her over.

As the head of one of the country’s most elite family, Lucas Lyons, is the older brother who exudes wealth and power everywhere he goes. He is serious while Daniel is the opposite. To Marie, she thinks that she is just another employee to Lucas. Not realizing that he knows a lot more about her than she thought. Lucas is also very patient and will wait for Marie to see that they might be it for each other. Especially after whisking her off on a world tour, given them a chance to grow closer. It’s when the truth fully comes out that Marie would have to make tough choices in order to protect her heart.

I absolutely loved reading Boss of the Year, we get to see the characters develop and overcome every obstacles that comes their way. Although Marie starts off as a wallflower, she turns into a more secure version of herself. But there is still some fears that she needs to overcome and she is able to lean on Lucas for support. Meanwhile, Lucas is ready to shower her with experiences she’s only dreamed of, not realizing that Marie would completely take over his heart. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this story as well as the rest of the series. The ending was sweet and perfect for the characters. You will not regret it! :)

⭐ BOOK BLITZ ⭐ Mr. Not Your Savior! by Alina Jacobs {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

Mr. Not Your Savior! by Alina Jacobs

Release Date: August 5th 2025
Series: The Seattle Svenssons #2
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance

When your mean boss asks you if you’re ready to admit defeat—and move out of his car…you wonder where you went wrong in life.

Two weeks ago, I was an optimistic office girl with a Pinterest vision board and a dream.
Now? I’m standing in a billionaire’s penthouse office, trying not to throw a donut at his smug, perfect face.

McCarthy Svensson is my new boss-slash-personal tormentor.
Though he thinks he’s my only protector.

He’s wrong. He’s way worse than the merry-go-round of ex fiancΓ©s who may or may not be stalking me, including ex-fiancΓ© number one of three, who fakes his death then pops up out of a casket. Alive.
Yes, I have a messy dating life.
I like to think it makes me unique and quirky!
He doesn’t seem to think so.

When he growls, “I’m not helping you until you admit you need me,” I slam a binder against his chest and smile sweetly.
“Pick your fake girlfriend, buddy. Deadline’s midnight.”
He smirks. “As long as she’s nothing like you.”
Cool.
Now all I have to do is convince this ice-cold bastard that I’m exactly what he needs…

No not like that! I’m trying to save his reputation and my job.
And I’m not saving either if I keep letting him finger me in the back seat of his limo…gulp.

Stalkers, hot but toxic bosses, a granny with a flamethrower… This full-length, stand-alone, enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy with all of the crazy laughs and of course the perfect happily ever after!

{EXCERPT}

I lean over. I might not be pissing on Brock’s grave, but I am going to spit on him. Symbolically, mostly. I don’t want to go to jail for defiling a corpse. Bethany really would fire me then.

But as I lean over, there’s motion.

I’m literally losing it, I think.

His corpse hasn’t just smiled, has it?

“B-B—Brock?” I stammer, then I scream when a cold hand shoots up and grabs my neck.

“Vampire! Help! Zombie!” I slap at him.

Still screaming, I scramble back, tripping over chairs, falling and banging my knees. My dress hem rides up my stress-eating-enhanced thighs as I try to escape that unholy thing in the coffin.

It’s sitting up with cold, lifeless eyes.

“Call the police! Call the army! Help!” I look around wildly for someone with a flamethrower or a gun.

Except… I’m the only one upset. No one is freaked out that Brock has risen from the dead. No one is screaming from fear. Instead, they’re… laughing?

“Oh my god!” Brock is clutching his sides. “Oh my fucking god, your face!”

His friends from the YouTube channel are circling vultures with cameras as everyone howls at me.

“Did you get her falling?” One of the camera men motions to the other.

I grab my skirt. “What the hell? Are you kidding me? This was a prank?”

“I can’t believe you fell for it!” Brock’s laughing hysterically in the casket while I sob on the floor.

My ex leaps out of the coffin and swaggers over to me. “Surprise! I always knew you cared, baby.”

The cameras are in my face as he crouches down in front of me.

“Aww, you’re crying over me. Come here, give me a hug.”

I’m in shock; I don’t know what I’m doing as I let him wrap his arms around me.

My ex leans in to kiss me on the head.

“Hey, man, you’re ruining the shot,” one of the cameramen complains.

“I don’t give a fuck about your fucking bullshit YouTube channel.” A massive arm wraps around my waist, then I’m yanked upright and back.

I cling to McCarthy as he holds me, my legs jelly.

The room is spinning.

I’m going to puke.

I left Brock after he played one too many stupid jokes on me—and now this?

“Why would you do this?” I whimper. “Make me think you’re dead?”

“The content, man.”

“Don’t fucking talk to her.” McCarthy tucks me protectively to his side.

The Empress by Michelle Heard

Release Date: August 4, 2025
Genres: Romance, Mafia

From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new STANDALONE, full-length MAFIA ROMANCE novel.

While visiting family in Italy with my mother, I come face-to-face with Leo Toscano. The head of the Italian mafia, and my worst nightmare.

Let’s get one thing straight. I didn’t know the mafia was a thing until the ruthless man threatens to wipe out my family unless I marry him.

Not having much of a choice, I reluctantly say ‘I do’, and tie myself to the heartless bastard for life.

Turns out he doesn’t want anything to do with me, and I quickly learn the definition of loneliness.

But then secrets begin to come to light, and everything I thought I knew about my life turns out to be a lie.
Now the big, bad mafia boss is the one begging.
How the tables have turned.

STANDALONE: A Mafia Romance full-length novel.
Each book in the Mafia Empire series is interconnected, but about a different couple who will all find their HEA.

My Review:

Heard delivers a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance in The Empress. As the fourth book in the Mafia Empire Series, this dark romance will transport you to the heart of Italy, leaving you wanting for more!

What started as an Italian vacation in order to meet her extended family, it quickly turned into something a lot more dangerous for Haven Romano. Little does she realize that her normal life was about to change forever the minute she meets Leo Toscano. The mysterious and handsome stranger who unexpectedly shows up at her uncle’s home ready to bring down the Romano family if she doesn’t marry him. Without given a choice to leave with her mom, Haven gets taken only to learn that Leo is the head of the Italian mafia and he is not about to let her go willingly. Haven has no choice but to marry him in order to save her mom and the rest of her family. Yet, no one could have prepared her for the loneliness she was about to experience at the care of someone who is supposed to be her husband. It doesn’t help that she is having the same nightmares she experienced as a child. She is willing to do anything in order to get Leo to let her go before it’s too late.

For Leo Romano his life changed seventeen years ago, after those that he cared about the most got taken from him. Now he has made it his mission to avenge their death by taking down the Romano family once and for all. Not realizing that he would meet Haven Romano in the process and that it would ultimately change the course of their lives. There is something about her that he can’t deny, a pull that keeps bringing them together no matter how hard he fights it. Leo never intended to marry or tie himself to the Romano family, but he wants Haven more than anything. He is going to make her his, even if he has to take her away from her family. He failed someone once and he is not about to do the same with his wife. He vows to protect her and earn her love with time.

I absolutely loved reading The Empress, Haven is a fellow bookworm who coincidentally loves a good mafia romance. Not realizing that her life was going to mirror the books that she has read in the past. Although there is an attraction between Haven and Leo at the beginning, their relationship is rocky as they get to know each other. At first, Haven’s mission is to convince Leo to let her go. Leo doesn’t know why he feels so strongly for Haven, until the past comes to catch up with them that he finally gets the answers he’s been looking for a very long time. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this book and the rest of the series. You will not regret it! :)
