🔖 REVIEW BLIZ 🔖 Morally Black Elopement by Nicole French

Morally Black Elopement by Nicole French

Release Date: May 11, 2026
Pages: 455
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

One night in Vegas. One drunken vow. One surprise husband.

I don’t drink. I don’t date.
And I definitely don’t wake up married.

Ronan Black—A.K.A the stranger in my bed—is everything I don't need.

He’s a morally bankrupt charm offensive with trouble written all over his chiseled face.

I’m the good daughter, the responsible best friend, the person who never makes bad decisions.

Now, one night in Vegas just turned into a lifetime of consequences when I wake up in Ronan’s bed…with his ring on my finger.

Because he wants it to stay there.

Maybe even for good.

It’s a bad idea. The worst.

His plan is simple: stay married long enough for him to take control of his company and for me to keep mine afloat.

It’s not fake…but it’s not exactly legitimate either.

So why am I starting to think this ridiculous marriage could actually work?

Ronan might be morally gray, but he’s also becoming the only man I trust.

But do these strange feelings go both ways?

When his corrupt world forces him to pick, will Ronan choose his billions?

Or will he choose us?

MORALLY BLACK ELOPEMENT is the second standalone novel in the Morally Black Weddings series. Tropes inside: woke up married, bad boy/good girl, opposites attract, marriage of convenience, and black-hearted hero meets no-nonsense heroine.

Warning: Contains questionable decisions, shameless flirting, and a hero who’ll convince you bad boys are worth the risk.

My Review:

French delivers a steamy marriage of convenience romance in Morally Black Elopement. What happens in Vegas ended up changing the lives of two unlikely individuals in the second book in the Morally Black Series. A definite must-read!

What would have been a fun bachelorette weekend in Vegas for Laney Fisher and her friends ended becoming so much more the minute she wakes up in an unfamiliar hotel room with a wedding ring on her finger. The worse part is that Laney has no recollection how she got married to the sexy and charming stranger. She’s always been the responsible one of the group and does’t spontaneously marry men she randomly meets at bars. But when the smooth-talking stranger kissed her, Laney decided to give in if only for one night. Little did she know that marrying a Black would come with a prize. There is a lot on the line for Laney back home in Seattle, between saving her mother’s fashion business and her own health struggles.

Ronan Black is the complete opposite of her, he is wealthy beyond belief and has a way of getting his way that makes her feel uneasy. Yet, underneath his custom-made suits that Laney sees the real Ronan and how book smart he really is. His love for Greek classics and his humor is what seals the deal for her when he asks her to give their marriage a chance. All while giving her a hefty sum of money in the process and the promise of saving her business after their six month trail. There is a lot on the line, including losing her heart in the process. If there is something that Laney is absolutely positive of is that once Ronan makes up his mind, there is no way to stop him from claiming what is his and he vows to keep her for himself.

I absolutely loved reading Morally Black Elopement! From the intriguing synopsis to the eye-catching cover, this opposites attract romance will have hooked from beginning to end. Ronan Black has always been the fixer of the family, the Blacks command Blackguard Holdings with his dad as the head of the family. There are standards that need to be met to keep appearances among the Boston elite. That is until his oldest brother made the choice to leave the family business. Leaving no choice but to make Ronan his successor. But there is a catch and in order for Ronan to become CEO, he has to marry first. Show the board that he is serious about the company and that he can be a family man.

Marrying in Vegas was not planned, his connection with Laney is real and he can’t seem to stop thinking about her. They agreed to get a divorce first, but he has no intention of letting her go. But omitting the real reason why he needs her is what could end up damaging their chance at a real relationship if he doesn’t tell her the truth. I loved Laney and Ronan together, their connection is magnetic and their love for Greek classics brings them closer. She understands his humor all while seeing the real Ronan. The ending was sweet, I can’t wait to read the next books in the series! I would highly recommend checking out this book as well as any others by the author. You will not regret it! :)

🔖 RELEASE BLITZ 🔖 Morally Black Betrothal by Nicole French {REVIEW}

Morally Black Betrothal by Nicole French

Release Date: November 14, 2025
Pages: 565
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

HE DOESN'T NEED A WIFE. HE NEEDS A WEAPON.
UNFORTUNATELY, HIS SWEET FAKE FIANCEE IS ABOUT TO BECOME HIS WEAKNESS.

Brendan

They call me the Black Prince.
Heir to Blackguard Equity. First in line for the CEO crown. Ruthless, precise, untouchable—until my father decides to move the goalpost.
No wife, no CEO seat.

So I find the one woman who can play the part.
Simone Bishop. The sweet, small-town candy striper who sat by my father’s bedside when no one else could stand him. She’s sunshine wrapped in an apron, with flour on her hands and eyes too innocent to belong anywhere near me.
But she needs my money. I need her hand.
Four months. One shared address. Zero feelings.

Simple. Until I start wanting to mess up that perfect hair in my bed every night. Until I start wanting to keep her.

Simone

I should’ve said no.
Brendan Black is everything I’ve been taught to avoid—grumpy, bossy, and so intense it feels like my heart’s on a leash when he looks at me. But the family farm is days from foreclosure, and his offer is too good to be pretend to be his fiancée, live in his penthouse for four months, and walk away with enough money to save the farm twice over.

I can handle this. I can survive the way his eyes linger. The way he says my name like it’s a command. The way my pulse stutters every time we’re in the same room.

It’s all fake… until it isn’t.

Because somewhere between the first kiss in public and the first kiss in private, I stopped pretending.

And if I’m not careful, the Black Prince is going to ruin me—in the best and worst ways.

MORALLY BLACK BETROTHAL is the first standalone novel in the Morally Black Billionaires series.
May cause uncontrollable sighing, blushing, and an inability to think about anyone but Brendan Black for days. Proceed with swoon-caution.

My Review:

French delivers a swoon worthy and addictive romance in the first book of the Morally Black Billionaires Series. Morally Black Betrothal is a must-read!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Simone Bishop, a twenty-eight year old bartender, baker and candy striper who has moved from her small town of Vermont to Boston. With hopes of opening her own bakery one day, Simone works hard to save enough money to be able to save the family farm. To make things even more stressful, her twin sister needs her now more than ever. Leaving Simone with no choice but to help her sister out. It’s with the help of a ruthless billionaire that her life is about to change forever the minute she agrees to be his fake fiancee. No matter how different their worlds might be, it’s what they have in common that ultimately brings them closer. Until what they have gets threatened do they have to decide if being together is worth it or walking away all-together.

As the eldest son of the most cut-throat venture capitalist in New England, Brendan Black has always known his place in their world. That one day, he would take over the family business and make it profitable for many generations to come. But being called The Black Prince has it’s drawbacks, especially after meeting a lovely mysterious woman watching over his dad. He should have been the powerful lion Brendan was raised to be, but instead he is the complete opposite when it comes to Simone Bishop. There is something about her that keeps bringing him to her, an effect that he uses in order to convince her to pretend to be his fake fiancee in order to get the role as CEO of Blackguard Equity. Neither expected for sparks to fly between them and the attraction so powerful that it would blurt the edges of their relationship, forcing them to figure out a way to be together for real.

I absolutely loved reading Morally Black Betrothal, French has a way of absolutely captivating me every time she releases a book. Her stories are always so thought-out and hard to put down. In her latest release, we get to meet Simone and Brendan, two complete opposites that attract the minute they see each other for the first time. While Brendan has a lot of weight on his shoulders trying to look out for his family and the upcoming role as CEO. He is not interested in having a romantic relationship and that makes the board question his ability to commit. So when he is presented with an ultimatum, Brendan finds himself turning to Simone for help. Everyone has a price to him and he just needs to figure out a way to get her to agree to be his fake fiancee. But things are not always what they seem to be and as the two go through ups and downs, they have to rely on each other in order to find their happily ever after. All in all, this was such a great start to the series. I cannot wait to read the rest, I would highly recommend checking out this book as well. :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Boss of the Year by Nicole French

Boss of the Year by Nicole French

Release Date: August 15, 2025
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He’s her brooding, off-limits boss. She’s his brother’s newest flame…and the weakness he’s craved for years.

She never expected to come face-to-face with Lucas Lyons—the grumpy, gorgeous CEO of the entire Lyons empire and the older brother of her long-forgotten crush.

Once upon a time, Marie had been just the invisible girl in the back of the estate kitchen. Now? She’s confident, capable, and no longer easy to ignore.

Especially not by Lucas.

He sees her now. And it’s a problem.

***

Lucas Lyons—head of the Lyons family empire, perfectionist, older brother to the man who used to make Marie’s teenage heart flutter—sees his beautiful personal chef as a complication. A distraction he doesn’t need. A girl he has no business wanting.

Especially now that his younger brother is suddenly very interested in Marie himself.

Lucas knows she’s too young. Too bold. Too tempting.

But the closer they get, the more dangerous the line between forbidden and inevitable becomes.

For a man like Lucas, giving in means losing control. And falling for Marie Zola?

Might just ruin them both.

*Boss of the Year is a Sabrina-inspired boss-employee romance that does NOT include cheating, but does include a lot of angst. If you’re not up for drama, this isn’t your cup of tea.

My Review:

As the second book in the Belmont Billionaires Series, Boss of the Year focus on the much anticipated story of Marie Zola and Lucas Lyons. French delivers a slow burn sizzling romance that will leave you wanting for more!

For the past ten years, Marie Zola has worked for the Lyons family and ever since then she’s developed feelings for the Daniel Lyons. As the youngest in the Lyons family, Daniel is everything she’s ever wanted and hopes to catch his attention. Yet, as a wallflower Marie has always been invisible. When the opportunity of a lifetime presents itself, she takes it to go to Paris to attend a culinary school. Knowing that in a year, she’ll be back as the official chef for the family. Little did she know that coming back a changed person would attract more attention than she originally wanted. Placing her in between the two Lyons’s brothers to try to win her over.

As the head of one of the country’s most elite family, Lucas Lyons, is the older brother who exudes wealth and power everywhere he goes. He is serious while Daniel is the opposite. To Marie, she thinks that she is just another employee to Lucas. Not realizing that he knows a lot more about her than she thought. Lucas is also very patient and will wait for Marie to see that they might be it for each other. Especially after whisking her off on a world tour, given them a chance to grow closer. It’s when the truth fully comes out that Marie would have to make tough choices in order to protect her heart.

I absolutely loved reading Boss of the Year, we get to see the characters develop and overcome every obstacles that comes their way. Although Marie starts off as a wallflower, she turns into a more secure version of herself. But there is still some fears that she needs to overcome and she is able to lean on Lucas for support. Meanwhile, Lucas is ready to shower her with experiences she’s only dreamed of, not realizing that Marie would completely take over his heart. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this story as well as the rest of the series. The ending was sweet and perfect for the characters. You will not regret it! :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Boyfriend of the Hour by Nicole French

Boyfriend of the Hour by Nicole French

Release Date: July 1, 2024
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He's a grumpy billionaire in need of a fake girlfriend.
She's a spicy heroine just desperate enough to do it.

Nathan Hunt needs a girlfriend—specifically a fake one.
Yes, the shy, grumpy twin of Henry Cavill who sits at the end of my bar needs to convince his absurdly rich family that he's capable of a normal social life.
And he's willing to pay a professional to fill that role.
Who happens to be me.

It helps that I'm just desperate enough to need the cash and not ask any questions.
I'm the obvious choice: Joni Zola, former dancer and forever flirt.
Never too serious. Always a good time.

On its surface, the plan is simple.
First, tell everyone we're roommates.
Then move on to lovers.
His family will leave him alone, and I'll have a free place to stay and a full bank account.
Easy, right?

But as our scheme progresses, the lines blur.
Soon casual PDA turns into sharing a bed at night.
On the outside, Nathan Hunt is just my next boyfriend of the hour.
But what if secretly, I might want him forever?

If we can keep things professional, this just might work.
I can forget that kiss if he can.

My Review:

Having read and loved previous books by the author before, I was eager to her latest release. Needless to say, French delivered a refreshing and page-turning romance full of steam and suspense. Boyfriend of the Hour will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters until the end!

As the youngest of the Zola siblings, Giovanna “Joni” Zola, is a twenty-four year old who is struggling with adulthood. Not only is she between jobs, but she is also running out of time to find a place to live. After living with her grandmother for most of her life, Joni has to prepare to say good bye to her grandmother as she moves to Italy. This leaves Joni on her own and is forced to do whatever it takes to make the money that she needs in order to survive on her own. But getting promoted at her job, from shot girl to bartender can only sustain her for so long and Joni decides to turn to plan B.

If she is going make a lot more than she does at her current job, it’s time to see a plastic surgeon. Little does she know that her surgeon would turn out to be one of her bar patrons. The mysterious and incredibly good looking Nathan Hunt is sitting across from her and suddenly things get really awkward. It’s his bluntness that make her angry at first, but it’s his proposal that truly shocks her. Pretending to be his girlfriend will not only give her a roof over her head, while teaching him to be more social should have been an easy task to achieve. Yet, there is so much to Nathan and the longer she gets to know him, the harder it becomes to not develop feelings for him.

As the heir to the Huntwell Corporation, Nathaniel “Nathan” Hunt has a lot of responsibilities when it comes to his family. He is expected to show up as the next in line to the massive empire, no matter how far he has moved away to start his own career as a plastic surgeon. It was a big event in his life that lead him to divert from following on his dad’s footsteps, and instead chose to become a plastic surgeon instead with the focus on reconstruction.

Leaving his home in Virginia to move to New York has been one of the best things in life. He has the freedom to do whatever he wants. But his parents are a few steps behind, always wanting to take that away from him. Meeting Joni changes everything, he is not used to reading people’s emotions and asking her to help him show his parents that is a capable of a social life is exactly what he needs. Nathan isn’t one to invite a stranger into his private life, but Joni is a breath of fresh air, one he can’t stop falling in love with. If only his parents can see what he sees in her, he realizes that that are going to be hurdles to overcome in order to get his happily-ever-after with her.

I absolutely loved reading Boyfriend of the Hour, Nathan is the blunt hero that we all need. He means what he says and his protectiveness over Joni is swoon worthy. The chemistry between them is magnetic, they are able to understand each other like no one else can. It’s filled with romantic and steamy scenes with a bit of suspense to keep you at the edge of your seat. I loved the cameos that we got from characters in French’s other series. It made that book that much more enjoyable to read. Though there were a few details that I wish the author could have extended a bit more, I still think that the book was great and I would highly recommend checking it out. The book was refreshing to read and you will not regret it! :)

My Review:

French delivers a sizzling conclusion in Last Comes Fate, the last book in the Silver Spoon Trilogy. This second chance romance is filled with twists and turns to keep you reading until the very end.

The story picks up right where it left off in Then Comes Lies with the shocking news that Francesca is once again pregnant with Xavier’s baby. After they were given the chance to explore what their lives could be if she and their daughter were to move to England permanently. It quickly become apparent that they didn’t belong in his world, especially not when he started assuming the role as the Duke of Kendal. But Xavier is not one to give up on his family and he is about to embark on a self-discovering journey to get his family back no matter what. I loved reading Last Comes Fate, we truly get to see Xavier and Francesca learn to fight for each other. We get to learn about their fears and of all the obstacles coming their way. Xavier becomes more protective when he finds out that he is going to be a dad again and he doesn’t want to miss a single thing this time around. With so many shocking twists, this rollercoaster romance will leave you wanting for more. I would highly recommend checking out the trilogy, you will not regret it! :)

My Review:

French has outdone herself in Then Come Lies, the second book in the Silver Spoon Series. This page-turning rollercoaster had me hooked from beginning to end. A must-read!

After Xavier Parker changed her life five years ago, Francesca Zola is finally reconnecting with her daughter’s dad. The dashing British restaurateur is determined to be a father to Sofia, while also trying to win Francesca’s heart. Little did she realized that by accepting to spend the summer in London with him, that her life was about to change forever. Not only is Xavier about to become the future Duke of Kendal, but seeing him in a new setting is changing him and Francesca begins to question whether or not he is ready to accept them in his new life.

I absolutely loved reading Then Come Lies, the chemistry between the characters is off the charts from the very beginning. Emotions are high as Francesca and Xavier explore the possibility of a future together. They leave New York for Kendal, England and it becomes the center of a rollercoaster of events. Xavier has always felt like her’s never belonged anywhere, his passion for cooking is what ultimately takes him away from his true role. Now he is back home, ready to claim his role as the Duke of Kendal, but not without obstacles coming his way. Meanwhile, Francesca must learn to navigate her new life, but seeing a new side to Xavier is what she fears. Then a turn of events threatens to end what they’ve worked so hard to build. I’m excited to read the next book in the series, the ending left me speechless. I would highly recommend checking out this book as well as any other book by the author, you won’t be disappointed! :)

First Comes Love is the exciting first book in a secret baby romance series from Nicole French! Enjoy a HFN at the end of this book, with more to come of these delicious new characters.

My Review:

In her latest spin-off, Nicole French delivers the first book in the Silver Spoon Trilogy, First Comes Love. This second chance romance focuses on London’s top restauranteur and a school teacher that will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the book we are introduced to Francesa Zola, who is getting ready to begin graduate school. With her dreams of studying English Literature, Francesca wasn’t expecting to meet a handsome British man named Xavier Sato. An aspiring chef looking for a job in the city. Their connection was instant and she started to see a future with him. But her whole life turned upside down the minute he walked away from her, before she could even tell him that was pregnant with his baby.

With her heart completely shattered, Francesa made the decision to let him go and hasn’t seen him since. It would take fiver years later for her to bump into him at a friend’s party. Xavier is more handsome than ever and ready to rekindle what they once had. Yet, a lot of things have changed since she last saw him. For one, their daughter doesn’t know who her father is and Francesca fears of what Xavier will do once he finds out. But the more time they send together, the more her feelings for him begin to grow again, only to realize that he has been hiding secrets from her as well.

Growing up as the illegitimate son of an Englishman and a Japanese cook, Xavier Sato/Parker, grew up surrounded by the love of his mom and their love for cooking. A tragedy would bring him closer to his father, only to have Xavier want to make a name for himself without his father’s help. It’s through his hard work that Xavier manages to become London’s top restauranteur and expand his empire of fusion restaurants in different countries. Meeting Francesa changed everything and he wanted her in his life. But the universe had other plans for him and he had no other choice but to leave her behind. Seeing Francesa after so many years apart completely takes him back to the time they once shared and he will not give up until he makes her his again. Nothing could have prepared him to see his very own image as a little girl opened Francesca’s door, referring to her as her mom. A lot has changed in the last five years and he wonders if they can truly have a chance at a future together this time around.

I throughly enjoyed reading First Comes Love, we first get a glimpse of Francesca in the Rose Gold Series, and I was happy to find out that she was getting her own story. It’s the first chapter that really pulls you in and I couldn’t stop reading it. There is a lot of chemistry between the characters and a past that has brought them back together again. A lot has changed since the last time they saw each other and there are things that they need to come clean about with each other. Xavier might rule his empire with an iron fist, but he doesn’t know anything about raising a child and he fears that he might not be good at it. We see him have sweet moments with his daughter and Francesca as he tries to catch up with what he missed.

Meanwhile, Francesca thought that she would take a different direction from her family, but having a baby made her even closer to them. It’s with their support that she was able to raise her daughter on her own. But just when things are starting to look up good for them, there is a shift in events that threaten to end their shot a a future together. There is so much that we get in this book and I cannot wait to read the next book in the trilogy. It’s a must-read for me, I would highly recommend it! :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Honest Affair by Nicole French

The Honest Affair by Nicole French

Release Date: October 21, 2020 by Raglan Publishing
Series: Rose Gold #3
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Prosecutor. Marine. Brother.
I thought I knew the man I was.
But in one moment, I found my real purpose: saving Nina de Vries.

On the outside, she seemed the perfect, icy aristocrat.
But I knew different.
Trapped by her monstrous husband and fear of her powerful family, Nina was begging to be saved.
And I was the only one who could do it.

Instead I broke her heart, and now I’ll stop at nothing to put it back together.
Because when fate introduces you the love of your life, you don’t walk away.
You fight for your chance, even if it means dragging the world down with you.

Nina and I were written in the stars.
That’s not even a question.
But will fate let us take our happy ending?
Or is our future one we’ll have to steal?

The Honest Affair is the epic conclusion of the Rose Gold Trilogy, a steamy, forbidden billionaire romance.

My Review:

Nicole French delivers the perfect conclusion to her epic Rose Gold series. Full of twists and turns, to keep you reading until the very end.

In The Perfect Woman, the previous book in the series we left off on such a cliffhanger by finding out a shocking twist at the end. Now in The Honest Affair, Nina de Vries and Matthew Zola face new challenges as they so desperately try to get their own happily-ever-after. Their love will be put on the line along with their trust for each other. But when Nina gets the chance to finally put her past behind her, they discover even more secrets that could end up threatening the very same future they’ve been fighting to get.

I absolutely loved reading The Honest Affair, the way the story was set up was great and so were the characters. We finally get to see Nina grow as a person and take back her life. She was always in the shadows when it came to being with her family, since her cousin Eric always got the attention for being the heir to their massive family empire. But in the story, we see her make tough decisions and not care what others have to say. She is ready to protect her daughter at all costs and having Matthew with her made her even stronger. We also see Matthew evolve and envision a new life for him and Nina. We also get to find out more about Matthew’s family and cameos from Eric and Jane (from the Quicksilver series) as well as Brandon and Skylar (from the Spitfire series). This was such a great ending to this amazing series, it was gripping, swoon worthy and steamy. Although the story was filled with twists, the ending had a massive twist that I did not see coming at all. I would highly recommend checking out this series, you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to read what the author comes up with next! :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Perfect Woman by Nicole French

My Review:

The Rose Gold series just keeps getting better! French once again has managed to deliver an incredible story in The Perfect Woman that was full of sizzling romance, suspense and the plots twist that will leave you wanting for more.

The story picks up right after we left off in The Other Man, with Nina de Vries and Matthew Zola vowing to not see each other after it was found that her husband is connected to a bigger crime that neither of them expected him to be. In order to protect her daughter, Nina agrees to return to her husband while Matthew does everything he can so that they can be together once again. Yet, there are things that Nina has kept hidden for the past ten years, secrets that have made her prisoner in her own world. Her only hope is that the love of her life frees her once and for all. But time is running out and she will have to decide if she can leave her life behind in order to create a new one with Matthew or stay behind.

Matthew Zola is good at his job, he has prosecuted a lot of bad people and he promised Nina to do everything he can to free her from her husband. She has become the woman he loves but can never have. As he gets closer to finding out the truth, he discovers an even bigger secret that can shatter the love he has for her.

The Perfect Woman had me hooked from beginning to end! I loved how easily I was able to get into the story and follow the next step in the characters’ journey. It is told in duel POV, which made it that more intriguing and interesting to read. Although it is mainly Nina’s journey, the story does give a good perspective into her past and why she made the decisions that she made. There are so many little twists, yet the biggest one is at the end. French left us all with a huge cliffhanger, it’s a good things the conclusion to their story will be released very soon. It was nice to see how the characters developed in this book, it was more in depth and full of emotions. Matthew was sweet as ever with Nina and he truly loves her. But their love gets tested once again when we find out the shocking plot twist at the end. It was nice seeing the characters interact with characters from previous series. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this series and any others by the author, you will not regret it. :)

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
