When Lindsay Smith brought her to the house, it was to train and sell her. They both knew it. She'd agreed to this arrangement. She wanted to belong to someone. But Lindsay wanted her to be his.

Three days into her stay at the pleasure house, Shannon Foster's life is forever destroyed by a sociopathic monster. Lindsay saved her life that day, but the scars bind her to the house without a future.

Now, eight years later, Lindsay saves her once again, only this time he's playing for keeps.

NOTE: This is a standalone in the Pleasure House world. You don't have to read any other book before reading this one.

“What is it you need, Shannon?”

Less than an hour ago, they'd been sitting at the kitchen counter, him asking her this same question. She wasn't going to tell him. She wasn't going to fuck him. But he wasn't playing fair. The cream was a very persuasive tool. It had a way of making you see the world differently—of changing priorities in an instant.

Pain and arousal. Twin catalysts the house used to get whatever it wanted. What was it exactly that the doctor wanted from her to break out these tools?

“Tell me,” he said.

“I need to be touched.”

“It's not just the cream,” he said. “We both know that. You've needed me to touch you for a long time. It practically radiates off you.”

Shannon shook her head, somehow finding the will to resist him, however limp the effort. “No. Not you. Never you.”

The cane sliced through the air and came down hard on her ass.

“Ow! Motherfucker!”

“That's for lying,” he said. There was another short painful snap of the cane against her thigh. “And that is for the language. You call me Sir. Not Lindsay. Not motherfucker. Are we clear?”

“Y-yes, Sir.”

“Good. I remember the way you used to look at me when you came to visit my office in the city. I remember you used to wear those too-short skirts and heels. Your legs seemed to go on forever. And then when you sat and crossed your legs, the silk skirt slid up your thighs exactly the way you wanted my hand to slide up them. Isn't that right? Did you imagine that whisper of fabric moving up your leg was my fingers teasing you? Did you think about it when you were alone in your bed at night after our sessions?”

Shannon felt the blush creep up her neck and into her face. “That was then,” She said, fighting the need even as she continued to writhe and squirm against the table, seeking contact that just wasn't there.

“And earlier tonight? When you got out of the shower? What was that hungry look about?”

“Your imagination,” Shannon said, knowing she was playing with fire. This wasn't the Lindsay she thought she knew, and yet she couldn't let herself admit the truth to him. She didn't trust him.

Suddenly that large warm hand was pressed between her legs, exactly where she'd always wanted it. It felt as good as she'd imagined it would—better even. Especially after such a long stretch of denial.

“Tell me to stop, then.”

Shannon pressed harder against his hand. Her hips began to move without her conscious effort.

He pulled his hand away, leaving her humping the air. “You're right. We should stop. It's inappropriate and you said you didn't want...”

“Please.” The word came out desperate and strangled. Not her finest moment if she wanted to resist him.

Lindsay picked up the cane again and moved to the front of the table. “Lick.”

She licked the length of the cane, not sure where he was going with this. A moment later it landed in a sharp wet sting across her ass. Oh. That was where. It had been too long since she'd played this way with someone. She could barely remember how any of it was done. The rules. The protocols. The creatively nasty signature styles and habits of the master in question. The personal private rituals, unique to him—to the two of them ensconced in their own private world. A world she used to live in.

Slowly he ran his fingertips over the welts he'd left. How disappointing it must be for him to have so little fresh unmarred skin to play with. If he flogged or whipped her back, he'd be competing with another man's marks in a game he could never win.

Rix mostly disappears for the next few days. When we do see him, it’s only in passing. Nan told me he’s been eating his meals in town, probably devouring all kinds of hideously toxic food. The more I think about his duplicity, the madder I get. Imagine him staying here while simultaneously setting into motion a plan that will ruin my life.

This morning when I walked by his car, I was overcome by the urge to slash his tires. The only thing that saved him was that Tony was with me and I wasn’t in possession of a sharp enough object to do the job properly. Although I’m pretty sure I could have gnawed my way through them if I’d been alone.

Tony has been shadowing me and learning everything there is to know about my farm. We’ve had some amazing conversations about Native American art, the healing properties of cilantro, and the best time of year to experience Machu Picchu. He’s interested in a lot of the same things I am, and it’s made the time we've spent together fly by. It’s also making me more and more convinced of how compatible we are.

So far, he’s had a sweat lodge and a mud roll. He’s currently enjoying a hot stone meditation. He’s on the slate pad that I’ve heated with boiling water. Before having him lie down on it, I misted the stone with a combination of lavender and tea tree oils, then I placed Moldavite crystals on his chakras to raise the energy in his body.

I believe I’ve previously mentioned Tony’s attractiveness, but let me say, without his shirt on, he looks like a gladiator—all golden and chiseled and buff. I stared at him for a solid ten minutes after he closed his eyes to start his meditation. Tingles shot through me, causing the hair on my arms to stand on end. After returning to the cafe yurt, I may have needed two tall glasses of mint water to cool off afterward.

I’m kneading bread dough and trying to remember every contour of his smokin’ hot bod when Emily pops in. “Nan and Dorcas are here. They want to chat.” Her aura is bright yellow, which is the color for happy. Emily is positively thriving on her vegan diet.

“They want to chat with you or me?” I have so much to do today I don’t really have time to sit and talk.

“They asked me to get you,” she answers.

I slam the dough down on the counter a few more times before covering with a cloth while I ask, “Do you have any idea what they want to talk about?”

She smiles. “I do.”

“Are you going to tell me?”

“I’m not.”

“For heaven’s sake, what’s up with all the secretiveness?”

“They asked me to get you and not say anything about why they’re here.”

I have no idea in this world what they could want. When we head out to the porch, I realize they aren’t alone. Ethan is sitting on a rocking chair next to a very good-looking man about my age.

The stranger has wavy blond hair and strikingly blue eyes. When he stands, he positively towers over me. He’s built like a linebacker. He steps forward and reaches out his hand, “Hi there, I’m John Abernathy.”

Abernathy? John, Johnny … it’s all coming together, “Dorcas’s grandson?”

“That’s me.” He beams like he’s got halogen headlights illuminating his teeth.

I turn to the minister’s wife. “You didn’t mention your grandson was visiting.”

Dorcas looks moderately contrite. “I told you about him the other day.”

That she did. What she didn’t mention is that he’s one fine looking bacon farmer. I turn to John and ask, “Are you in town for long?”

My Review:

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, Jeana E. Mann manages to deliver a passionate story full of mystery and plot twists to keep you wanting for more.

In the story we get to meet Henry, Crown Prince of Androvia whose sole purpose for visiting New York gets sidetracked when he sees a beautiful stranger at a sex club. It only took one look to have him intrigued and he can’t wait to find out who she is. But his country needs him and he is ready to make a deal that will help him the minute he is king. When the truth is revealed and he finds out who his stranger is, he comes out with the perfect opportunity to make her his and that is by making her his wife. As the story unfolds secrets will get exposed and he’ll have to decide if pursuing Everly is worth it or not.

I’m officially hooked! Can’t believe this is just the prequel to the Rebel Queen. I absolutely loved the characters, Henry is passionate and overprotective when it comes to Everly. He is there for her from the very beginning and he is still is at the very end. As the future King of his country he is used to commanding respect from those around him while exuding power as well. He doesn’t go unnoticed and Everly definitely noticed him right away. She is tired of men not being loyal to her and she is glad that Henry is not asking for more other than their physical relationship. As their relationship grows they get to know each other yet there are mysteries that they have yet to uncover and when asks her to marry him she realizes how much their lives are about to change forever. Told in duel POV, The Royal Arrangement is a must-read! I would highly recommend reading this book, I cannot wait to see what happens next. :)

My Rating:

{EXCERPT}

He picks me up by the waist, pushing me into the wall behind us, crashing me into the paneling. I wrap a leg around his hip and grind against the steel rod inside his trousers. A primeval growl rumbles from his lips. Hot, wet kisses trail down the column of my neck. I dig my fingers into his short hair.

“I take it things didn’t work out between you and your wank of a boyfriend.” He slips the straps of my gown over my shoulders, baring me to the waist, trapping my arms with the delicate fabric. The breath behind his words burns against my collarbone.
