She can forgive, but can she forget?

Some days, Everly still thinks she sees him. In the food court at the mall, or in a car speeding past as the light changes. It only lasts a second, but when it happens, she slips back to a time when she was ruled-and nearly ruined-by August Kincaid. And it doesn't matter that she's moved on, that she's about to marry another man. In those moments the only thing she can do to regain control is take a deep breath and remind herself that August can't hurt her-because he's in a coma. Except that he's not anymore.

August is awake. With no memories, he sets out to solve the mystery of his lost life. He unearths a photograph of a beautiful redhead named Everly and knows instinctively that she's the key. But when he finds her, the August she describes is more monster than man.

Tortured by the thought of having hurt her, August wants only to become the man Everly deserves. As the new August emerges, Everly glimpses the person she first fell in love with. But can she trust that this August is real? When the final secret of their shared past is revealed, one of them will make a choice that changes their future forever . . .
(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

Forgetting August was one of those stories that was full of twists and turns that I could not stop reading until the very end. From the cover to the synopsis, Berg completely pulled me into a very interesting and complex storyline that kept me at edge of my seat. There were a lot of elements in the story that I absolutely loved and that somehow worked in the story very well.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Everly, and immediately find out that she is engaged. Though she is happy with her fiancee, she still thinks about her ex, especially when she gets the call that she had been dreading for a very long time. Now she has to face the horrible past that she has been trying to move on from, but can't because she has to face the man that somehow ruined her life. Although we don't immediately find out what her ex did to her, we do get flashbacks of when she was with him that slowly reveal what actually happened to her. The minute she finds out that her ex is in a coma, Everly escapes her past only to get a call from the hospital letting her know that August has woken up. Now it quickly becomes a matter of whether she wants to see him or not. But that changes completely when she finds out that August doesn't remember her at all or what happened to him.

At that point Everly's life escalates rather fast when she realizes that she still has feelings for August and that in order to move on she needs to help him remember what happened to them. The only thing that she wasn't counting on was just how good it would feel to be with him again, that's when the story really starts to take off and Everly has to make a big choice in the end that could alter her life yet again.

As for August, the minute he wakes up from the coma everything around him is confusing and he has no recollection of what happened to him at all. His mind is blank and the minute he finds Everly's picture in his wallet, he makes it his mission to find her no matter what. But little by little he finds out what he used to do and what he did to those that he loved that he wants to change. August knows that he loves Everly and he is willing to change for her, but a misunderstanding gets in the way and they have to part ways.

I very much enjoyed reading this book, it was a page turner that kept me intrigued in the storyline and the characters. In terms of character development there really isn't a lot of it, the story was more of a mystery type that slowly revealed itself to us as readers. There were times when the story felt a bit unrealistic, especially in the last couple of chapters. Needless to say, I was shocked with how everything ended that I cannot wait to read the sequel because it's going to be really good. I can't really say more of the story, I feel that the book it's one of those stories that you just have to read without knowing much at all about it. Overall, if you're looking for a great mystery/romance story then I would highly recommend reading this book. : )

Crazy how eight years can disappear in an instant. One look at Katie Watts, and I’m a fifteen-year-old again—the one who risked everything to save a terrified girl from her twisted kidnapper. She’s grown-up now—beautiful, quiet, composed—and telling her story to the world. A story that involves me in more ways than you can imagine. She used to call me her guardian angel. Sure, I risked my life, but she was worth dying for.
I need to make contact with her. Just to ensure that she’s safe.

Somehow we reconnect. We become friends . . . but I want more. I want to make her mine. And she wants me too. Does she know who I am? Has she figured me out? Not yet. But she will. In the meantime, I need to make sure that whatever hold that animal had on her is gone.

So, yeah, I’m stealing these moments with her. Savoring them. Knowing, dreading, that she’ll soon find out who I really am. And everything will fall apart. All because of that twisted, perverted monster sitting on death row. Her kidnapper. A convicted serial killer.

He broke all his rules... for her.

Real estate development CEO Blake Whitman is an Aquarius with a philanthropic nature, but when it comes to work, he's driven and focused, and he would never, ever mix business with pleasure. As far as he's concerned, office romance is off the table.

He also never backs down from a challenge, and Kira Layton just accused him of ruining the community. What better way to get her on his side than to hire her?

But the more he tells himself to keep his hands off his new, sexy secretary, the harder it is for him to come up with reasons why office romances never work and why it's a bad idea to cross the line...
(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

Blurring the Lines was such a great romantic story between two individuals whose paths perfectly crossed when they least expected it and it soon changes their lives forever.

Right at the beginning of the story we get to meet Kira Layton, an animal lover who is also determined to get what she wants no matter what. When she gets news that someone is going to ruin the community that is dear to her heart, she is set to change the stranger's mind. When she stumbles against a handsome stranger at the park sparks set off between the two of them and they part ways only to meet again in different circumstance. The minute she realizes that the stranger is non other than CEO, Blake Whitman, the man that is going to ruin her community she is set out to make him see the beauty of the place that her mother loved the most. But soon things immediately change when instead of sending her off, Blake actually hires her as his personal assistant without knowing that his life was going to change from then on. As the two of them start to spend more time together, the more Kira sees that Blake is not the awful person that she thought he'd be.

An office romance is off the table for Blake, but his new secretary is changing everything about his life and he can't stop that as the more time he spends with her, the more he starts to like her even more. He soon finds himself promising that he'll do anything in his power to stop the reconstruction of the new building from happening, but things immediately change and that is when he'll have to decide what truly is important to him in the end. I really enjoyed reading the book, it was cute and funny seeing how the two main characters interacted with each other. Kira is a loving person who loves fostering animals and she even gets Blake to take on a couple dogs to his house, which was hilarious. There really isn't a big conflict that needs to be solved in the story, which made the story refreshing and quick to read. The chemistry between the characters in undeniable and it makes the story that much more enjoyable to read. Overall, if you are looking for a romance story I would highly recommend picking this book up. :)

(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

The Prince's Christmas Vow is a story of new beginnings and second chances at love. I was immediately hooked with the story the minute I read the synopsis, it's one of those stories that I knew I was going to love and it didn't disappoint at all.

When Crown Prince Demetrius Castanavo used to still be in his playboy ways he met a young interior designer, Zoe Sarris who he secretly got married to without anyone of his family knowing about it. Needless to say, it was an scandalous event that completed changed their lives, especially when Zoe was forced to leave the prince for good by his family. Now she has come back to his life after he requested her interior design services. With the hopes that they can put their personal past behind them, she shows up at the palace only to find that she still has feelings for the Crown Prince. But then she realizes that she will never make a good princess, and the secret that she managed to keep away from him could damage their relationship all over again. Soon she focuses on staying on task, only to find the shocking news that she is still married to Demetrius and that's when the story really takes off and Zoe has to decide whether staying married to the prince is worth it or not.

Demetrius Castanavo has been trying to fix his public persona for the good of the country, but now as a Crown Prince things have started to get harder to hide from the press. But when he finds out that he is still married to Zoe, he promises to do anything to protect him, even letting her go once again. I really loved this story, it was filled lots of holiday spirit and romance that had me reading until the very end. It is evident that both of the characters have a lot to grow now that their lives have changed. Zoe tries so hard to hide the secret that could damage her relationship with the prince, but in the process she realizes that she loves him and doesn't know what to do about it.

On the other hand, Demetrius is going to be king one day and he needs the public to see that he is serious about taking on the task, but his secret elopement could damage his reputation, and he is willing to fix the problem once and for all. Things start to get shaky when the both get word that someone knows their secret, and that's when the story gets twists and turns that will definitely keep you reading. The overall plot was great,  although I wish we could have seen a separate chapter on how they met. It would have tied everything nicely, but it all ends up great at the end. The epilogue was sweet and it really felt like Christmas all over again. I highly recommend this book, I will most certainly be reading more from the author in the future. :)

(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

Having read previous works by Victoria James, I couldn't wait to read yet another more festive book by her. In Billionaire's Christmas Proposal we get to meet social worker Allison Barrington, who has struggled in her life, but working at a homeless shelter has giving her a greater purpose and for that she has been also able to provide for her teenage sister. But things go incredibly wrong when her home gets caught in fire a month before Christmas. With all her hard work disappearing before her eyes, she does the only think that she could think of at the time and that is to go to her friend Ethan (aka long-time crush) for help. But soon things start to change when Ethan insists on them to stay in his house until things got better. It is then that between the holidays and everything that was happening to them, that Allie starts to feel the chemistry between them grow, and she wonders if they could be something more just in time for Christmas.

Ethan Dane has always had a thing for Allie every since they met at a friend's wedding. But at the time she had actually turned him down, but he always hoped for a chance to be with her. Now that she is staying at his house everything that he had hidden from her could no longer be a secret and that could risk their friendship. Soon their attraction towards each other grows and they spend a lot more time together at Allie's work where Ethan really shows that he is the perfect man for her.

I really liked the overall story of this book, it was filled with lots of holiday spirit and some steamy moments as well. The characters have kept their feelings to each other and when they realize that they want the same thing it is then that things start to change in the story. Allie is a sweet and kind character, she really wants to help others, whereas Ethan is more reserved and a typical billionaire who wants to get things done without a word. Yet underneath all of that he hides a secret that he has hold for a very long time, and it is when he he decides to do something about it that he realizes that he can't be away from Allie. From the cover to the synopsis this was a great book to read, the plot kept me interesting and it's just a book that needs to be read during the holidays. I highly recommend picking it up, you will absolutely love it. : )

(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

From the cover to the synopsis, I was immediately intrigued to read the book. Having read Cantrell's works before I really wanted to read what she came up with time around. Needless to say, I was hooked with the story and how the characters evolved throughout the book.

In Triplets Under the Tree we get to meet Caitlyn and Antonio, whose paths crossed and for different reasons they ended up becoming brother and sister-in-law, instead of getting the chance to be in a relationship. Right from the very beginning we get a quick flash of what was happening to Antonio and  it all happens fast, we get the feeling that he is in some type of trouble and the whole scene is confusing for the character. Then we go back to the present in which Caitlyn is boried about her three babies, she goes on to remember the events leading up to her present state. That is when we get to find out that she had been a surrogate for her sister, aka Antonio's wife.

After learning that both Antonio and her sister had died in a plan crash, she took over Antonio's fortune and company. Now she has to take care of a lot of things, including her children, and that has changed her life forever. As a single mother, she had to change her plans, but she loves what she calls her children now and is willing to do anything to protect them. When Antonio unexpectedly shows up at his house, she doesn't believe that he is really back, but now she fears that he'll want to take the babies away from her. Finding out that he has no idea who she is or that he is even a father is worse than she thought, now she has to teach him everything that he missed. But the more time she spends with him, the more she falls for him, and she'll have to decide whether to be with him or turn her back on him for good.

After been in a plan crash, Antonio Cavallari has lost his memories and the life that he once knew. Now he is back and ready to claim what is his no matter the cost. But the more he starts to trigger the memories that he once had, the more complicated his life becomes when he finds out the secrets that he kept and the ones that could potentially hurt his relationship with Caitlyn. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was interesting to read how Antonio slowly got some of his memories back. It is evident from the very start that the characters have chemistry and they can't get away from that. But things from their past could harm their relationship if they don't trust each other. Throughout the book we do get both perspectives and that just made the story that much more interesting to read. The babies have a lot of personality as well which was cute. Overall I highly recommend reading this book, it was funny and romantic with a lot of holiday spirit. : )
