The Fix Up by Kendall Ryan
Release Date: October 11th 2016 by Kendall Ryan
Genres: Romance, Contemporary
From New York Times bestseller, Kendall Ryan, comes a sexy new standalone novel.
My tempting and very alpha friend Sterling Quinn is someone I consider off-limits.
It's not just that we're friends, he's also cocky, confident, and British, which means he's a walking aphrodisiac.
But lately he's been giving me the look. You know the one. When he thinks I'm not paying attention, and his gaze lingers for too long.
When we start working together, that's when the sexual tension between us gets so thick, I want to hack through it with a machete. I want to make all these deep feelings I've harbored for him disappear, because there's no way this can end well.
The lines between business and pleasure become irrevocably blurred, and I'm stuck between a rock, and Sterling's very, very hard place.
Rather than keep a level head about our growing attraction, Sterling wants to go all in, showing me just how explosive we can be together.
But I've been around long enough to know that this British bad boy is more than my heart can handle. I'm not about to be cast aside like yesterday's underwear when he's done having fun.
Sterling’s never been told no, and he's not about to put his ego aside and play by my rules. But I never thought he'd fight so dirty.
*This is a spin-off from the HITCHED series, but can be read as a standalone.
My Review:
After reading the Hitched series by Kendall Ryan, I was really excited to read The Fix Up, we get glimpses of Sterling in the previous series that I couldn't wait to read his own story.
In this romantic and hilarious standalone, we get to meet Sterling Quinn, a British divorce attorney whose life completely changes after he gets news of his uncle about his new fate. After living in New York for a long time, he finally has everything he could ever want and more. He has the looks, money, and women. Yet, behind all of that he has been hurt in the past that has made him unable to commit to anyone. His career has given him a lot of opportunities, and the attention that he get from women have giving him the image of a playboy. But it is when he gets news from back home that completely shakes what he's build for himself in the big city. He not only needs to get married to secure an inheritance, but he also has to do it within the time line that he's been given.
Without not knowing what to do and with all the media attention that he is being getting, Sterling has no choice but to find someone to help him find a wife, and fast. That is when Camryn comes into play, and after meeting her at his best friend’s wedding, he knows that she'll be able to help him out. Both of them have their own reasons to get this right, but it seems that the more time they spend together, the more they start to realize that they might just be perfect for each other. Now it's up to them to decide if they can truly move on to a relationship and lose the inheritance that Sterling so desperately needs.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, the author has done it again in my opinion, and delivered a book filled with sweet and funny scenes between the characters that will literally melt your heart out. Their chemistry is evident from the very beginning, and as they began to learn more about each other, the more they fit for one another. Both of the characters have pasts to overcome, but together they're able to help each other out, and learn to move on. We do get scenes with the previous main characters in the Hitched series in this book, but you don't need to read it to understand what's going on. The Fix is its own separate story that will leave you wanting for more. I would highly recommend it. :)
