My Review:
The story focuses on Jaxon Prescott, a major league baseball player for the Miami Eagles whose reputation gets put on the test the minute a video surfaces of him being with his general manager’s daughter. To make things worse he forgot to mention to his family that he also got into a brawl at a bar and that’s just one more thing that his team needs to fix if he wants to keep playing baseball. His family comes up with one solution, for Jaxon to settle down for good.
He is not ready for that, at least not until he sees Macy Walker. As his little sister’s best friend, Macy has been around him and his family numerous times to know the way he is. There is an instant attraction between them that cannot be denied so when the two give in, pictures of them end up all over social media threatening to ruin their reputations. He is used to being in the press all the time, but Macy never signed up to be the center of attention and he comes up with the idea of them getting married. It was just supposed to be temporary, but the more time they send together the more he wants to keep Macy forever.
Macy Walker has been through so much, losing her parents was not easy and now she is at risk of losing her step sister as well. She cannot lose the only family that she has so when Jaxon offers to marry her in hopes of helping each other, she accepts right away. Marrying Jaxon would prove to be another struggle as she tries her best not to fall for him in the process.
I absolutely loved reading Dare to Play, it’s definitely my favorite book in the entire series so far! Jaxon is your typical player who gets a lot of attention from women and social media. His reputation for partying and sleeping around do not help his case when he is trying to fix his image. But there is a lot more to him than just being a player. He has an enormous heart when it comes to those he loves. He is immediately over protective over Macy right from the beginning. She is different and he can easily talk to her about anything. On the other hand Macy has her work cut out for her as she takes care of her teenage sister. She has always been attracted to Jaxon, but never thought she would actually get to marry him. As they go through ups and downs, they’ll have to decide if it’s worth giving their marriage a try at forever. All in all, the story was great and the ending was very sweet. We get a glimpse of what’s to come in the next book in the series and I cannot wait to read it. Highly recommend it! :)
