“I think you’re sweet.”She settled back into the buttery leather and sipped the excellent champagne. “Yes, sweet and considerate. Taking a moment to ask about her son. Lending me your car so I didn’t have to go through the hassle of the rental car. Most employers don’t bother.”
“I like people, that’s all.” Then he leaned forward in his seat, his midnight blue eyes blazing. “And if you think I see you as just my employee, especially after being inside you, you’re out of your mind.”
Kenzie choked on the champagne she’d just sipped and started coughing as the bubbles tickled her nostrils. Austin sprang from his chair and massaged her back. Not helpful. Not helpful at all.
Claire started writing stories as soon as she was old enough to pick up pencil and paper. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a BA in English Literature, Claire was sidetracked by other careers, including practicing law, selling software for legal publishers, and managing a non-profit animal rescue for a Hollywood actress. When Claire's not writing, she's teaching yoga.
