πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– The Book Boyfriend by Carina Rose

The Book Boyfriend by Carina Rose

Release Date: October 28, 2021
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

After Callie’s debut romance novel is an unexpected hit, she thinks nothing can surprise her—until the man of her dreams seems to walk out of the book and into her life.

The last thing Callie Richardson expected was her debut romance novel, Ready to Fall, to top the charts. Nor did she think her readers would become obsessive over her book’s hero, Hudson Newman.

Life couldn’t get any stranger. But then her assistant announces that Hudson Newman wants to see her. She’s convinced her best friend is playing a joke on her, because no one in her office knows she’s written a book. Plus, the name is fictional, a mashup of famous actors.

So when the stunning man steps into her office, she thinks she must be dreaming. Except this Hudson Newman wears a scowl rather than a model-worthy smile. After confirming his name is in fact the same as her character’s, he proceeds to tell Callie that her book’s success has turned his orderly world upside down.

Not only that, but her readers have set out to make Hudson the hero of their hoped-for romances. After weeks of receiving gifts—from candy to lingerie to things that make Callie blush—Hudson has had enough and tells Callie she needs to get her overzealous fans off his back. He smiles smugly and gives her two choices—delist the book or date him.

That was the moment Callie found herself in a fake relationship with a real-life book boyfriend.

My Review:

From the sweet cover to the intriguing synopsis, Carina Rose delivers a swoon worthy right out-of-a romance-novel story in her latest release, The Book Boyfriend. This entertaining and witty romance is a must-read!

At the beginning of the story we get to meet twenty-nine year old Callie Richardson, who works in the membership department at Shadow Oaks Country Club. Although working at one of the most exclusive clubs in Virginia keeps her busy, Callie has managed to finish writing her debut novel, Ready to Fall. Despite believing that marriage isn’t for everyone, she wants to give her character that moment, even if she doesn’t want that for herself.

It’s her encouraging friend, Gina, that helps Callie make her book a success by becoming her agent. By sending copies of the book to bloggers and influencers, the book quickly gains attention and it becomes a hit. Everyone is buzzing about its main character, Hudson Newman and everyone wants this hero as their book boyfriend. Until she gets an unexpected surprise when the real Hudson Newman makes her a visit demanding to take delist the book as it has turned his life upside down. He is attractive and so much like her character that people think that her character is based on him. Hudson wants to go back to his life and to do that he gives her two choices, to delist the book or date him. Callie has worked so hard to finish the book and she refuses to delist it, giving her no choice but to fake-date him until women get off his back. Yet, she wasn’t expecting to like the real Hudson Newman so much and soon her life begins to change. He wants more than she is willing to give and she is not sure if she is meant to have a happy ending.

At thirty-one years old, Hudson Newman prides himself in maintaining order everywhere he goes. To him order surpassed chaos, it was something his father had drilled into his head at a young age and it has stuck. His routine is always the same and it’s what got him to be successful at Logan Enterprises. That is until he started getting packages of all sorts of candy and lingerie in them that has him confused, all sent to him with the hashtag #ReadToFall. At first he thinks that he is getting pranked, yet it’s his assistant that finally tells him what’s going on and he doesn’t like it one bit. He sets on to find the author of the book and when he does, Hudson can’t believe how gorgeous she is. Callie does not back down when he tells her to delist the book and the only way to get other women to back away is to make them see that he is in a relationship. So he asks Callie to pretend to be his girlfriend and she accept. Little did he know that by spending more time with her, he would develop feelings for her and now he needs to convince her to their relationship a real shot.

I loved the overall concept of the story, it’s relatable to all of us whether we are authors, book bloggers or readers. We get to learn more about why Callie is so hesitant about being in a relationship and how that has affected her dating life. On the other hand, we also get to learn more about Hudson and how his orderly life has prevented him from pursuing what he truly loves. They weren’t expecting to find each other, but they are perfect for one another and we get to see them take that next step in their lives. The secondary characters truly made the story that much entertaining to read and the ending was perfect for them! I would highly recommend checking out this book, I cannot wait to read what Carina Rose comes up with next! :)

My Rating:

Meet Carina Rose:

Carina loves everything about romance. To her, it’s the little things that matter. She also believes in insta-love, since she knew her husband was the one the first day she met him.

When it comes to books, she uses them as an escape from reality. . . . to get swept away. Carina hopes her words do the same for her readers.

She’s a mother and wife and loves spending time with her family. She enjoys meeting new people, traveling, reading, watching sports, and, of course, relaxing on a beach.

Carina looks forward to sharing more love stories in her future novels.

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Once Upon a Duke by Carina Rose

Once Upon a Duke by Carina Rose

Release Date: May 20, 2021
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

“You’re a duke?”
“Let me explain.”

Living with a too-handsome-for-his-own-good roommate was trouble enough, but adding his royal title into the equation took it to an entirely different level.
And why stop there?

Toss in that Cameron Edward Alexander, Duke of Montclair, has just announced to an eager reporter that Janine Hughes was his fiancΓ©e. Granted, he’d said it in an accent that dreams were made from, but still . . . Engaged? To a duke? No way.

Janine didn’t know if she should bow, curtsy, or call him Your Grace.

This wasn’t in her plans. Janine wasn’t ready to be engaged to any man, much less a royal—and one she barely knew. But after hours of Cameron’s pleading (and a bit of shameless groveling), she agreed to pose as his fiancΓ©e and go to Montclair so they could do damage control.

Little did they know, the wedding plans had already begun.

My Review:

Once Upon a Duke by Carina Rose is a sweet and witty royal romance that will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Janine Hughes, who recently decided to leave New York City for Virginia. She is ready to take over as an office manager at the Reynolds Placement Agency, but it’s hard leaving her friends and family behind. Not only that, but moving from a city to a small town has its adjustments. When she is about to look for a place to rent, Rachel, the manger she will be replacing has a house that she is renting and Janine is happy to hear that she will have a roommate too.

Little did she know that her life was about to take a different turn than she expected. Meeting Cameron for the time took her breath away, he is extremely handsome and funny. He also happens to have an accent that she loves. There is an ease about him that she is intrigued with and feels safe being around him. Yet, Janine knows that he is going back home soon and she should be focusing on her career. Falling for Cameron is not an option, until she finds out that he is a duke that her life takes a different turn of events.

Cameron Edwards came from Montclair, a small country in Europe to the States, to get away from the life that he had back home. There is a lot of pressure that comes with being who he is along with all the traditions that must be followed, that Cameron wanted to live a simple live for a little while. What his Aunt Rachel didn’t tell him was that his new roommate was going to be beautiful, smart and caring. They share the same views about volunteering and giving back that he finds himself growing feelings for Janine Hughes. It’s when she finds out that he is a duke that he blurts out that they are engaged that things quickly start to change. They weren’t supposed to have a real engagement, but it’s soon starting to feel very much real and Cameron has to figure out a way to show Janine that they might be just be perfect for each other before it’s too late.

Not having read other books by Carina Rose before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Once Upon a Duke. Needless to say, the story was charming and sweet. The characters hit it off right away and as they get to know each other, they start to grow closer. Cameron is funny and protective over Janine. As they embark on their royal adventure, they both have to face with what they truly want and what they’re willing to give up to be together. I loved the ending, it was sweet and it fit the story really well. I would highly recommend checking out the book and I cannot wait to read what the author comes up with next. :)
