✯BLOG TOUR:✯ Private Reserve by Cathryn Fox {REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!}

Private Reserve by Cathryn Fox

Release Date: March 6th 2017 by Entangled Publishing LLC
Series: Dossier #1
Pages: 99
Genres: Novella, Romance, Adult Fiction

Olivia was the best thing that ever happened to me. But she’s a good girl, and I have a side that is far too dark for a minister’s daughter. When she started talking about plans after graduation, the only thing I could do was run back to Italy—to protect her from me. But she’s back in my life, and I need a wife before I can take full ownership of our failing vineyard and hotel. Only problem is, I want her again. No way can I put my hands on her. One kiss, one taste, could unleash the side of me that would only scare her.

If she discovers my dark side, I don’t know if she’ll flee back to the states, or surrender to me. What she doesn’t know is she already owns me, and if she leaves, I’ll never be the same.

My Review:

Having read the Hands On trilogy by Fox before, I was really excited to read her new series. Private Reserve is the first book in the Dossier series and although I've only read Hands On before, this book completely took me by surprise. Without giving too much away, (since this story is a novella), we get to meet Olivia entering a new stage of her life. After her boyfriend broke up with her she has struggled to move on, but since it is her twenty-fifth birthday she is determined to make the most of it, especially when one of her friends is supposed to be planning her the trip of a lifetime. Needless to say that when Olivia arrives to Italy she wasn't expecting to bump into her ex boyfriend Gio. Now she has to see him during her stay and as the two start to get along again, feelings start to resurface between them that neither one can control. It is then that secrets also start to reveal themselves, secrets that could tear them apart once again.

I really enjoyed reading this story, it was quick and steamy! The chemistry between the characters is undeniable and it is because of that that had me reading until the very end. There were things that I wished the author could have elaborated more in the story, and the end was a bit abrupt, but it all works out in the end. If you like steamy novellas than I would definitely recommend reading Private Reserve.

When he wins a sexy bet, billionaire Linc Blair can’t wait to get Lauren Neill naked. He’s never gone for her type in the past, and he’s pretty certain it has more to do with her buttoned-up hotness than the nagging sense that something is missing from his life. But when he gets a glimpse of the vulnerable woman beneath the conservative, yet oh-so-sexy clothes, it’s a game changer.

Lauren can’t believe she’s spending a few days with one of sexiest, and most annoying men she’s ever met. But she can’t deny the chemistry between them, and for once in her life she’s letting down her guard so she can explore a different side of herself. The side only Linc brings out in her.

Taking it slow, he unleashes her sexuality and it quickly occurs to him that what started out as a bet for him has become something more. With their weekend nearly over, and her ex showing interest in this new confident version of Lauren, Linc will have to risk it all if he wants to win the game of love.

My Review:

Not having read any of Cathryn Fox's previous works before, I was impressed with the overall idea and how the author managed to completely tie the story in a novella. At the beginning of the story we get to meet Lauren Neill and Linc Blair, whose sexual attraction is what ultimately brings them together. They had seen each other before, but they've never spoken to each other. Linc happens to be Lauren's best friend's boss so she knows him from afar, yet it was from the minute that they first saw each other that they've had an undeniable attraction to one another. But when they bumped into each other again at a sports game, Linc makes a bet with Lauren that will change their lives forever.

If his wins the game, Lauren would have to spend the weekend with him, and that is exactly what happens. Both of them know that they only have the weekend to spend time with each other, and nothing else. Yet, their sexual chemistry is not that only thing that is growing and they both have to decide if they want to keep seeing each other after the weekend is over. Although the novella is rather short, the author manages to capture the chemistry between the characters very well. Linc is your typical billionaire who wants to he can't have, and he is not accepting a no for an answer. Whereas, Lauren is not one to mess with at work, but still has insecurities when it comes to what everyone will think of her. As the character spend time with each other, the more they start to realize that they might just be perfect for one another. The pace of the story was great, and the ending really worked well for the story. Overall, if you're looking for a quick romantic read full of steamy scenes then I would highly recommend reading this book. It is worth it, and I will be definitely be reading more from the author in the future. :)
