(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

What intrigued me from the very start was the synopsis and the cover. There is really not a lot said specifically in the synopsis, yet it’s easier to understand it after reading the book. Although the story is fairly short, we get to see a variety of characters and how they all somehow connect. Without revealing too much of the story, The White Room is an invitation-only place where no personal information is exchanged and what happens in the room stays in the room. It’s a place where people go to explore their wildest fantasies without being judged. But when things start to get personal, the members of The White Room begin to explore the idea of wanting to reveal their true identity to those that they want to see again. It was interesting to see how the characters were connected by their lives outside The White Room and how they interacted while they were in the room. It was well developed and the ending fit the story really well, it came full circle in the end. The White Room is one of those stories that you just have to read it without knowing too much about it. I highly recommend reading this story, it’s worth picking up. :)

WASTED is a new adult, contemporary romance recommended for adult readers due to mature content.

It all started with sex on the beach…the drink, not…you know.

As a bartender, Mason Cambridge often charmed beautiful women who ordered up cocktails on his shift. It was part of his job after all, and he needed the tips—badly.

When Lexi Swafford plopped her pretty little tail down on the bar stool, Mason offered her a drink. He had no idea that he would soon be working with her or that he’d be letting her room with him until her new apartment was ready.

In fact, once Lexi Swafford landed in Creekview, Tennessee, life as Mason Cambridge knew it would cease to exist…because after a night of drinking away the agony of his loneliness, one touch from her would change everything.

WASTED is the first book in the WHISKEY NIGHTS series. Since each book focuses on a different couple, they can be read as stand-alones, but many readers may prefer to read them in order for maximum enjoyment.

When my therapist asked about my other talents or interests, the only thing that popped to mind was... women. I've always been good with women, but it's not like you can make a living with that skill set.

Well, as it turns out you can make a damn good living in what they call the world's oldest profession. I've definitely got the equipment for it. Maybe I'll give it a try. At this point, I feel as if I have nothing to lose. After all, what can go wrong when you're trying to keep a bunch of spoiled rich girls happy?

My Review:

Not having read other books by the authors before, I was really impressed with the overall execution of this story from start to finish. It’s always hard to review books that are all in one without giving too much away, but it was nice to get a prequel (Before CE “O”), first book (CE “O”), and the second book (CE “O” Baby) all in one.

At the beginning we get to meet Rex Hastings, a college student whose future ahead of him couldn’t have looked any brighter especially after aspiring to be an NFL quarterback. Having worked really hard to stay on top of every game, Rex never imagined that his life was about to change forever when a sudden accident left him unable to play anymore. All his hopes of being in the NFL gone in an instant made him rethink everything in his life, things kept going wrong as well and when he finished physical therapy his parents sent him to see a therapist that would help him cope with his new life. It is through multiple sessions that he gets to know Cindy (his therapist) and they begin a friendship that would ultimately help him see that he could be doing other things with his life if he sets his mind to getting to that point, hence his love for helping women begins. Aside from making a good living, becoming a sex surrogate would help woman physically and emotionally. But when a demand for his services starts to spiral out of control Rex decides to walk away from that career and onto the sex toy industry. As we follow his journey, Rex also happens to meet Felicia, a recent college grad who comes to his company to apply for marketing after seeing one of his catalogs in her mother’s garbage can. But Rex can’t seem to stay away from her and the more time they spend together the more certain he is that she is the one for him. Now he has to convince her that they are perfect for each other, but there are things in his life that could threaten his future with her and he will not stop at nothing until everything is fixed before it’s too late.

I absolutely loved reading this story, the prequel truly gives us a vivid image of a younger Rex and it slowly progressed after that. It was interesting to see how everything started and made it that much more enjoyable to read. Rex is in a place where he doesn’t know what to do with himself after suffering the injury that prevents him from playing ever again and going to therapy helps him see that he can do so much more with his life now. I love his sense of humor and just much of a gentleman he can be (totally swoon worthy). In the second and last book we get to see him mature and experience things that he wouldn’t have otherwise. Meeting Felicia made him a better committed man and the two of them fit together really well. We do get to see both of their point-of-views in the first and second book. On the other hand, Felicia is introduced as naive and a timid. After going to a fashion school for marketing she suddenly finds herself at a sex toy company and she feels out-of-place. She is definitely not used to being teased and that what Rex does to her at first which completely through her off. It’s on the second day that things start to get heated between them and it’s hard to not see the chemistry between them. She feels something for him and as the two start to spend more time together the more she wants to be with him. But it’s his ability to remove his emotions when he is physically involved with someone that scares her the most. She doesn’t want to get hurt, but she is willing to give their relationship a try and see where it goes. Little did she know that her life was about to change forever.

From the writing style to the synopsis and the eye-catching cover, M.T. Stone did an amazing job with this story. Although sometimes it felt like the story was going fast or things weren’t explained in full, it really didn’t affect the story as a whole. Everything worked out in the end, the epilogue was sweet and full of possibilities. I would highly recommend reading this story, you will not regret it. :)

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, all opinions are my own.

✯REVIEW BLITZ:✯ Dirty Little Promise by Kendall Ryan

Dirty Little Promise by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: October 9th 2017 by Kendall Ryan
Genres: Romance, Adult Fiction

The secret I’d discovered about sexy billionaire Gavin Kingsley was so big, so haunting wasn’t something I could overcome. I had a decision to make—hear him out and see where things went, or turn to his brother Cooper, who I was fairly certain was in love with me. But something dark inside of Gavin called to something dark inside of me. And I wasn’t willing to just walk away—not yet anyway.

This is the conclusion to Emma Bell’s epic love affair with the alpha and enigmatic Kingsley brothers. Secrets will be exposed, sides will be chosen, and nothing will ever be the same.

Purchase: Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, Nook

My Review:

Dirty Little Promise is the conclusion story to Emma and Gavin’s love story. Full of twists and turns, Ryan has done an amazing job concluding their story as well as prepare us for what’s to come in the next books in the series.

After the shocking cliffhanger in Dirty Little Secret, I couldn’t wait to read Dirty Little Promise and needless to say, it did not disappoint at all. At the beginning of the book Emma is still in shock after finding out part of Gavin’s past. She is not sure what to do, she wants to hear his side of the story, but at the same time she is not sure if he is right choice for her. Emma knows that Gavin’s brother, Cooper, will offer her the fairy tale relationship that she is used to reading. Yet, there is something about Gavin that calls to her and she just can’t ignore it any longer. That is when she decides to give him a second chance, but neither she could have predicted the turn of events that would transpire after making her decision. Now she has to convince Gavin that she is in love with him and that is not going to change after he tells her the whole truth of his past.

Gavin Kingsley has been tormented with his past for a while now, he doesn’t want it to interfere with his work or with the relationship that he has with Emma. Yet, it has come to haunt him now that his life was getting so much better, and he is not letting anyone or anything get on the way of his happiness. When secrets get exposed and sides get chosen, it will be up to Gavin to figure out if he is the man for Emma before it’s too late.

Without giving too much away, especially to those who haven’t read the first book, Dirty Little Promise  takes us through a series of events that keeps twisting and turning with every page. It’s evident from the very beginning that Emma and Gavin have a sizzling chemistry that neither one of them can deny. But when it comes to fully disclosing their pasts, it’s hard for them to do that, especially with Gavin. He is the one that has been keeping secrets from Emma, but when she finds out part of his secret thanks to his brother Cooper. It is up to him to fully tell her what has been haunting him for years, more so than ever since his past has come back to hurt him and his company if he doesn’t do anything to stop it once and for all. Told in dual point-of-view, Ryan did a great job telling both sides of the story that had me reading non stop until the very end. The sexy scenes between the characters were raw and emotional. Gavin really needed to have Emma in his life to help him get through his past, and Emma needed Gavin to make her feel wanted and happy again. Both of them got their happy ending, I very much enjoyed reading the ending it was sweet and romantic. Kendall Ryan keeps surprising me with every story she delivers and I cannot wait to read what happens next in Torrid Little Affair. I would highly recommend reading this series, Dirty Little Tease is a “prequel” to the first book in the series and is now free on Amazon if anyone wants to check it out! :)

✯REVIEW BLITZ:✯ Dirty Little Secret by Kendall Ryan

Dirty Little Secret by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: September 14th 2017 by Kendall Ryan
Genres: Romance, Adult Fiction

The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan...
She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide.

The way she looks at me—like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back together—it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero.

But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess.

How am I expected to resist when the sexual sparks zap between us and set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?

The story continues in Dirty Little Promise, releasing October 30th.

Purchase: Amazon, iBooks, Nook, Kobo

My Review:

This was definitely a great start to the Forbidden Desires series, it was filled with angst and dark secrets to keep you reading until the very end. The synopsis and the cover were intriguing enough for me to want to read this book and while having read the first book in Ryan’s, Filthy Beautiful Lies series, Dirty Little Secret was different and exciting.

Dirty Little Secret starts of by introducing Emma Bell, a head librarian whose previous relationship has left her questioning any other guy that might be interested in her.  After leaving an abusive relationship with her previous boyfriend, Emma has become more shy and often judges herself that makes her feel not wanted. When she gets glimpses of a sexy stranger at the coffee shop she frequents often, Emma suddenly finds herself wanting to know who the stranger is and thus the adventure begins when on one occasion he ends up leaving his business card in the tip jar knowing that Emma was going to be watching. Though their encounters are brief, that still leaves Emma wondering what he does for a living and what his personality is going to be like. This all changes when she finds out that the sexy stranger happens to be the CEO of Forbidden Desires, an escort service site and does the unthinkable by signing up to his company in order to get to know him without knowing that her life was about to change forever.

Gavin Kingsley has it all, the money and looks to get just about any women he would like. With the help of his brothers, they are able to co-found Forbidden Desires, which has made them very rich. But that’s not what Gavin cares about, not when he gets a glimpse of Emma at the coffee shop. For months they have avoided talking to each other, but when he leaves his business card behind one day, he doesn’t expect her reach out to him until the very day she walks into his office that everything changes for him. He knows that he can’t share her with his other clients, but his brother makes an interesting proposition that Emma won’t be able to deny. It is this proposition that will leave her spending time with both brothers, but Gavin wasn’t expecting to develop feelings for Emma. Now he’ll have to decide if pursuing a relationship with her is worth it or not, especially when he knows that his past will eventually come out to haunt him.

I very much enjoyed reading this book, this is definitely a different kind of story by the author, and I loved it. Gavin is a very secretive character who seems a bit careless at the beginning, but as he starts to spend time with Emma he starts to change a bit. Being the first book there is not a lot going on in terms of changes, but we do get to know the characters enough to keep us waiting for the next book to come. On the other hand, Emma is smart and kind. She has being through a lot and it’s understandable why she would not feel desired. It's a big step when she takes charge and decides to go meet Gavin, and what she gets out of it is not what imagined, but she is glad to be spending time with him. In the end, Emma is confronted with Gavin’s past and that is when the story ends. It's a huge cliffhanger that had me at the edge of my seat wanting to know what’s going to happen next. Kendall Ryan has managed to create yet another gripping story that will leave you wanting for more. I can’t wait to read the second book in the series, I would highly recommend Dirty Little Secret, you will not regret it! :)
