✯REVIEW✯ Falling for Dante by D.J. Hunnam

Falling for Dante
by D.J. Hunnam
Release Date: May 31st 2017
Series: A Clean Slate Novel #2
Genres: Contemporary, Erotica, Romance

I fell for my brother’s best friend when I was just a kid. He broke my heart, one unforgettable night, in a frat house bathroom. Now he’s back and ready for another shot. There’s just one problem. I’m damaged goods.

I’m a demon…

On and off the football field. The only thing I like more than scoring touchdowns is scoring with the ladies. When my best friend’s little sister begs me to take her virginity, I’m not surprised. Erica has had a crush on me since she was an awkward kid. So I do what any man would. I reject her.

Fast forward five years and Erica has blossomed into one irresistible woman. Too bad she still hates my guts. Convincing her to give me another chance might be the hardest play I’ve ever had to execute. But I’m willing to give it the old college try.

I’m a fool…

For falling for Dante. He stole the playbook to my heart when I was just a kid and has been running defense with his ever since. I offered him everything. My heart. My soul. My body. His rejection propelled me into a world where my innocence was the price for admission.

Now I’m running scared. From my past. From my present. From the feelings that Dante stirs up every time he’s around. It’s only a matter of time before I trip and fall into the arms of the only man I’ve ever loved. But will the fall come at a premium my heart can afford?

My Review:

Having read Faking It with Damian before, I knew that I had Falling for Dante right away. Not only was the author able to create such a great story, but she was also able to integrate various topics that you don't see a lot in new adult books. With that said, at the beginning of the story we are introduced to   Erica, a model whose New York live hasn't been going that great after she finds herself questioning her career and the choices that she has made just to get away from her parents. It doesn't help having wealthy parents who have cut her off completely and now she is back in her home town ready to start again. When she stumbles across her brother's best friend things start to change immediately for her. He had broken her heart when they were younger and now he wants a relationship with her, but there are things holding her back that could damage her future forever.

Dante has it all, he not only has the wealth and looks to get whatever he wants, but his career has given him recognition for his football skills. After suffering an injury, he had to quit the sport and focus on writing about it instead. It seems that everything was looking great for him on the outside, but he has had problems of him own. From having an addict as a mother to losing his job on the field, Dante has to learn to overcome his past. When he sees Erica again, he knows that it's last chance to make her his and he is not going to stop at nothing until she is.

I really enjoyed reading this book, the author did a job executing the story and developing the characters. They were relatable and it was a good story. Dante is not only caring towards Erica, but he is also ready to do whatever it takes to make her happy. There were times when I was frustrated with him in of the scenes, but it all works out in the end. On the other hand, Erica has been through a lot and she has strong friends to support her along the way. I would highly recommend reading this book along with Faking It with Damian, you will not regret it. ;)

AUTHOR BIO:

First introduced to the genre by her grandmother, DJ Hunnam is an author with a true love for great romance novels. After reading hundreds of them over the last twenty years, she finally decided to put pen to paper and craft her own. She loves to write about strong heroines who fall in love with sexy heroes, while tackling real-world problems.

When she isn't writing, you might find her curled up with a book, chasing her two wild sons, or pursuing her own HEA with her husband of ten years. She's a sucker for dark chocolate, a good bottle of Malbec, and a sexy six-pack.

✯BLOG TOUR:✯ Faking It with Damian by D.J. Hunnam {REVIEW}

Faking It with Damian by D.J. Hunnam

Release Date: January 22nd 2017 by Amazon Digital Services
Pages: 233
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

I don’t do relationships…especially not with egotistical jerks like my new boss, Damian Wood. The man is vile, arrogant, condescending... and scorching hot. If he weren’t my boss and a grade-A a*&hole, I would turn on my world-famous charm and seduce the pants right off the man. But giving in to his undeniable allure might just cost me my job. Or worse yet, my heart.

I’m a prick…and Janice Holder’s new boss. Which means I should stay away, but I’ve never claimed to be a nice guy. If I don't get my twisted fascination under control, it will only be a matter of time before I bend her over my desk and screw her. Hard. The way I've imagined no fewer than a thousand times since we met. I’m playing with fire and neither of us can afford to get burned, but landing in hot water might just be worth the risk.

Faking It is a full-length, standalone office romance. It contains steamy scenes with a ton of heat and strong language intended for mature audiences.

My Review:

Faking It with Damian is Hunnam's debut novel and it didn't disappoint at all. From the sexy cover to the intriguing synopsis, the author completely won me over by introducing such relatable characters that will definitely leave you wanting for more. In the book we are introduced to Janice Holder, a Zaumba instructor who has landed a job as a leading marketing role at an engineering firm. Though she loves what she does, there are things in personal life that keep her distracted, for one her mother is sick and money is running out very quickly. It is due to her new job that she is able to make ends meet, but her boss is making things harder for her, especially when she can't get him of her head. She knows that she should stay away, but there is something about Damian that has her completely under his control. Their attraction is undeniable, but as they get to know each other, their pasts get revealed and they have to decide if by fixing them they can have a future together.

Damian Wood has it all, or so it seems. He likes to be in control, and his demanding job keeps him occupied when he is not home reminiscing over the past. But when he starts working with Janice things start to change, he suddenly feels the need to have her in his life and let go of his past. It'll be up to him to fix his past if he wants to have Janice in his life. I really enjoyed the book, the character's back stories were touching and relatable. Damian is swoon worthy and sweet. Though they have a lot to work on as a couple, they truly belong with each other. The writing was great, and the ending will leave you wanting for more. I would highly recommend it. :)
