✯BOOK BLITZ:✯ Wrong by Jana Aston {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

Wrong by Jana Aston

Release Date: October 7th 2015
Series: Wrong #1
Pages: 206
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma’s boy? Check, check and check.

Now I can’t stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It’s just a harmless crush, right? It’s not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It’s not like I’m going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he’s the doctor. Shoot. Me.

But what if, for once, the man I’ve had the dirtiest, most scandalous fantasies about turned out to be everything but wrong?

Luke flexes his jaw and rubs the back of his neck. It occurs to me now how stupid my fantasy crush was. This is the longest amount of time I've spent with him, and the only time without a counter separating us. Still, I can't help being attracted to him. I know it's wrong. Fucked up. Delusional. I'm already wondering if my future career will pay enough to cover the therapy I obviously need.

Marie is back and places something wrapped in heavy-duty plastic on the tray. The object makes a thud as she sets it down before taking up her seat beside the door again, sticking her face into an old copy of Good Housekeeping.

"Lie back on the table, Sophie." Luke's face is unreadable as he walks over to the exam table. He wraps a hand around my wrist and raises it over my head, his eyes passing over my face briefly before he sets my hand on the table.

His fingers move to the gown covering me. Do not be turned on, do not be turned on, do not be turned on, I chant to myself. I snap my gaze away and focus on the ceiling.

There's a motivational poster on the ceiling right above the exam table. I burst out laughing just as I feel Luke's hands on my breast.

"Sorry, are my hands cold?"

"No, your hands are perfect," I blurt out without thinking. I think I detect a slight smirk on his face before I revert my gaze to the poster on the ceiling.

"The poster." I gesture upward with my free hand. It strikes me funny that there's a motivational poster on the ceiling. Like that's gonna take my mind off where I'm at. Or is it meant to motivate me to stay on this table? I giggle again. Luke tilts his head and looks at the ceiling.

Shit, are my nipples hard? That's normal, right? He's not doing anything erotic, but his hands are on my breasts. Yeah, my nipples are hard. His fingers are flat against the sides of my breasts now. He's rotating them around in what feels like a spiral pattern before lightly pinching my nipple. I have to stop myself from moaning a little. His hands feel good. I'm sure they're not supposed to, but they do.

✯BOOK BLITZ:✯ Times Square by Jana Aston {TEASERS + GIVEAWAY!}

Times Square by Jana Aston

Release Date: September 12th 2017
Pages: 102
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Once in a while right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.

I saw that quote about fairy tales embroidered on a decorative pillow at a home decorating store. Honestly, it pissed me off. Retail propaganda aimed to promote sales when any single girl in the city could tell them they’d sell more if they’d offer Keep Your Pants On, Asshole instead.

But it’s fine. I don’t have room for decorative pillows anyway.

And I don’t have time for distractions.

Which is why I’m ignoring the distraction staring at me right now. The one who looks like he belongs on a billboard campaign. The one with the full lips and the cocky smile. The one refusing to look away even when I give him my best no way scowl.

The one headed in my direction. Right now.

*This novel was previously published in the Love In Transit Anthology

“Knock knock!”

“Um… Who’s there?”

Yeah. That was me, on my last date. Before you feel sorry for me you should know that I was the one telling the jokes. Jokes as in plural, because I didn’t stop with just one. Of course not.

Hi, I’m Chloe Scott. The most awkward single girl in the city.
But I’m going to get it together. I am.

I’m going to learn how to date like a grown up.
I’m going to have an orgasm not given to myself.
I’m going to fall in love and live happily ever after.

Right after I get out of this interrogation room.
(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

After seeing the cover and the synopsis of this story, I was immediately hooked, and it did not disappoint. From the hilarious characters to steamy scenes between them, Aston has outdone herself in her latest book. Trust is not only a story about second chances at love, but also about trusting one self, and that everything is going to be okay in the end.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Chloe Scott, a teacher whose insecurities have taken the best of her, and whenever she is nervous she starts to tell everyone jokes to cover up her awkwardness. Not only is she single in the city, but also among her friends. Everyone seems to be moving on with their lives, except for her, and she wants to put an end to that no matter what. When she stumbles upon her friend's brother Boyd, Chloe doesn't know what to think of him, especially in the way they end up meeting. Now she has an FBI agent interrogating her after the most disastrous date she's ever had, and she hopes to never see him again. But little did she know that she'll be seeing a lot more from him, and things were about to change her life forever.

Ever since Boyd saw Chloe for the first time, he felt an instant pull towards her. Her awkwardness and ability to tell jokes is what amuses him the most. Yet, he can't stay away even if he has to. Everything changes the minute he decides to help Chloe with her anxiety, but the longer they spent time together, the more he wanted to keep her. Now it's up to him to convince her that they can truly be together no matter what.

I truly loved reading Trust, the characters were so easy to relate to, and I found it refreshing to read. I totally saw myself in Chloe, she loves crime mysteries and though she has a hard time being social, whenever she gets comfortable with people she thrives. Her quirkiness is what I liked the most, and all of those jokes! I couldn't stop laughing, and rooting for those two to get together. :) Boyd is not only handsome, but he is also very protective of her. He wants to be there for her, and help her out with. Yet, their relationship is put to the test when they have to face each other's pasts. Through their ups and downs, we get to see their romance blossom. The ending definitely left me wanting for more, I would highly recommend it if you want a steamy and hilarious read. ;)

I need to remember to be careful with this girl. She's so... unsure of herself. She seems self-reliant, yet there's this undercurrent of doubt that I don't yet understand.

She walks across the studio and pulls a denim jacket from a small closet and shrugs into it, then picks up her bag and slings it over her shoulder. "Are you ready?"

I nod and follow her out, watching as she locks the door then tugs on it to make sure it's locked. We take the elevator down in silence then hit the sidewalk outside before she asks if we're walking or driving.

"Driving," I tell her, nodding to the parking spot I got in front of her building. I unlock the car and open the passenger door for her before walking around and getting behind the wheel.

"This is nice," she says, glancing around the interior of my Range Rover. "This is more James Bond than FBI though," she says, with a little wrinkle of her nose, her forehead creasing in concern.

"Are you disappointed?"

She shrugs. "It is a nice car," she says as she buckles herself in and crosses her legs, resting her hands on her knees. "But I don't think it's government-issued."

I laugh. "It's not. Does that disappoint you?" I ask, starting the car and merging into traffic.

"I guess it's okay." Another shrug.

I take a right onto the Schuylkill and ask if she's learned any new knock-knock jokes since I last saw her.

She turns her head and gives me a look. "Funny."

"I'm genuinely curious," I say. "You were killing it the other night."

"No. But speaking of killing, did you know that at any given time, there are between twenty and fifty serial killers in the United States? Did you know that?" She turns in her seat to look at me, her eyes wide with interest.

"That's quite the transition, from knock-knock jokes to serial killers," I comment while turning on the ramp to the I-676.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry." She shakes her head. "I just thought it would be fewer."

"Uh-huh."

"Like ten. I thought it would be ten. Maybe fifteen."

"One would think." I nod. Not really. Who thinks about this shit?

"Sophie, he's going to be back for more. Trust me."

I load a tray of cupcakes and slide them into the bakery case. "I don't know, Everly. He's really sophisticated and clearly lives a lifestyle a long ways from Cowbell Lane," I say, referencing my grandparents' home in Willow Grove.

"Bitch, please. The guy is pushing forty and you're a hot co-ed with a brand-new tight, shiny pussy. He'll be back."

My eyes widen. "Everly, Jesus!"

"Just saying." She holds her hands up in mock defense before breaking into a huge grin.

"You don't really think he's forty, do you?"

"He just turned thirty-six in August."

"How do you know that?"

"Google."

"You Googled him?"

"You didn't?" Everly looks aghast.

"Uh, no." Truthfully I thought about it, but I didn't want to get any more invested in him than I already am.

"Well, look what the pussy dragged in." Everly is smirking.

"Everly, that's not the saying. It's 'cat.' 'Look what the cat dragged in.'"

"Oh, I think I've got the saying right. He's here."

My stomach explodes in nerves as I glance towards the door. Luke is here. I wondered if he'd stick to his normal Tuesday routine and stop here for coffee. I've figured out this Grind Me location is between his Rittenhouse Square condo and the student clinic, but it's hardly the only route he could take or stop he could make.

My heart is beating so fast as I take him in. Is he going to speak to me or go back to just ordering coffee and leaving like he has the last several weeks?

He's in a navy suit today, crisp white shirt and a silvery blue tie. And then my heart stops beating so fast. There's a hand on his arm. I follow that hand to the redhead from Saturday night.
