My Review:
From the cover to the synopsis, Deal Takers had me hooked from the very beginning. The first sentence in the opening scene had me laughing and excited to keep reading until the very end. The story was full of charm and second chances that will leave you wanting for more.
As I mentioned before, the story starts off with a hilarious scene where we are introduced to Brody Harris, a grad student who was just looking to have some fun and ended up taking way too much viagra. This leads him to the ER where he meets a feisty nurse, Rainey O’Neil. He is immediately attracted to her and he flirts with her nonstop. There has never been anyone able to hold his attention like her and he wants to see her again. But she keeps shutting him down and that makes him even more interested in her even after finding out that she is taken. Brody knows that he has to go back to grad school and finish his Aerospace Engineering degree, but promises to come back to see her and that’s exactly what he does. As time goes on they form a strong friendship due to to being around the same group of friends all the time. Even years later, Brody is still as charming as he was before and things start to change between them as they get to know each other better. But just when there is a possible of a forever for them things start to get tricky and it’ll be up to him to decide if fighting for Rainey is worth it or not.
Rainey O’Neil loves working as a nurse at North Seattle Memorial. She has a very rewarding job helping deliver babies until she gets a call to work at the ER for the night. It was just supposed to be another typical day at the hospital, yet little did she know that her life was about to change forever. The minute she walked into Brody’s room she was attracted to him and his flirting made him very persistent. But she doesn’t give in and that is until she sees him again that she realizes that Brody is going to be in her life whether she likes it or not. As their friendship grows the more she leans on him and the possibility of something more between them gets all too real and she is scared of getting hurt again. Rainey knows that Brody is different and he has been there for her since day one, but after a series of events happen she is not sure if Brody is the one for more.
I absolutely loved reading this story, it was entertaining and charming. From the very beginning we get to see the banter between these two characters and it was totally swoon worthy! Brody is not only good looking and smart, he is also kind and attentive towards Rainey. He pays attention to her likes and dislikes and he just knows what to do make her happy. They do tend to flirt a lot and the romantic scenes were HOT! I couldn’t stop reading the book (hence why I finished reading it in one day) it was that good! I do wish the author could have given us an epilogue at the end, it would have made it that much better. The ending was still great nonetheless and it all works out for them. I’m excited to read the next book in the series, cannot wait to see what happens to the rest of their friends. I would highly recommend reading this book, you will not be disappointed! :)
