I slam into a body and arms wrap around me. I scream, and bury my face in the chest of whoever’s holding me up, screaming out all of my rage and frustration. All I can smell is smoke and fury and tequila and fear.

I’m shaking apart. This was a bad idea. Such a bad idea. 

Screaming in a stranger’s arms, in a sex club, while my maid of honor stabs me in the back. On the list of bad ideas I’ve had, this might actually take the cake. Hands rub down my back, and I realize abruptly I’m letting some random manhold me. I shift away and the arms tighten, just for a second, long enough for my heartbeat to spike and then his arms loosen and I can pull away. Not completely. Just enough to look up at him. And I freeze.
