My Review:

Not having read any other books by the author before, I was immediately intrigued by the cover and the synopsis. Nothing But Trouble is the first book in the Irresistible Billionaires series and it follows the story of Michael Vilander and Sophia Baldwin. As found and CEO of the largest matchmaking website in the world, Michael has been able to enjoy his billionaire live as a bachelor to the fullest. At thirty-six, he knows what he wants and what he doesn’t. He doesn’t want to be in a serious relationship and he has never had trouble finding women to spend a good time with. But that all changes when he needs an urgent date for the Denver Art Foundation gala. As one of its biggest donors, he is expected to show up with a date and not just anyone would work. But just when he is ready to go by himself, he comes ups an idea and fakes his online profile just to score a date. But he wasn’t expecting to meet Sarah Baldwin and have his life change forever. Now the more time they spend together, the more he wants to start a relationship with her, something that he didn’t want before. He’ll just have to convince her that he may just be her forever before it’s too late.

At twenty-four, Sophia Baldwin is ready to take on the world just like anyone her age. But her life has been filled with twists and turns. Now she is caring for her sick grandmother while trying to save enough money to go to nursing school. She doesn’t have time to date, but when she creates a dating profile, she wasn’t expecting to meet Michael. He was everything that she could have possibly imagine and more. His charm is what attracts her to him at first, but it’s his ability to be there for her that truly wins her over. Though they were supposed to go on just one date, he saw him needing her help and she accidentally blurts out that she is his girlfriend and that’s when the story takes off. It is pasts start to come forward that she will have to make a choice of whether Michael is worth fighting for or not.

I enjoyed reading the story, it was short and sweet. Michael is your typical billionaire bachelor who has a sweet relationship with his grandmother. It was nice seeing them interact with each other. He has been through a lot recently and he just wants to start fresh. Sophia has a lot of responsibilities and it’s hard to date anyone for her. But she is strong and wants to do something for herself. There are twists and turns in the story that will certainly keep you reading until the very end. The ending was sweet and it worked really well in the story. I will certainly be reading more from the author in the future. I would highly recommend reading this story, it’s worth picking up!

I lose myself to the sound of zipping harmonicas and anthems about bayous, outlaws, and rambling men. The wistful sound reminds me of happier times, despite the pang of sadness it elicits from nudging, less-welcome memories, too. There’s something about classic rock ’n’ roll that makes me feel at home.

I let the music and the amber liquid that once again flows through me dull the pain. It makes me feel lighter as I dance and sing around the fire with Mac and Savannah. And it just so happens that Mac had been right, hair of the dog—a lot of it—was just what I’d needed to perk my wilting mood right back up again. I’m unable to remember the last time I felt this good.

“So is this like a Native American beer dance or something?” Nick asks, and Reilly barks a laugh, clearly amused.

“You’re just jealous you’re not having as much fun,” Savannah drawls.

“Yeah, that’s exactly what it is.” Nick smirks and pulls away from Savannah as she tries tugging him up from his camping chair.

“Come dance with us.” Her voice sounds more like a whine, and I can’t help but laugh at how drunk she is.

My Review:

From the beginning to the very end, Nothing But Trouble had me laughing, gasping and squealing with excitement. Laura represents the qualities of a strong woman with a hidden past that prevents her from completely trusting men. When her friend tells her that she was going to meet her prince, she didn't know that her prince wasn't far away from her at all. On the other hand, Brandon wasn't looking to start a relationship, but when he and his friend decided to spend the night at the bar, he was surprised to find himself attracted to the very owner. Both Laura and Brandon's relationships starts off full of questions, but there is no denying their attraction for each other. As these two start to slowly get to know each other, they soon find out that there are other things in the way of their happiness that they will have to fix if they want to be together. I really liked the pace if the story, it is very well -written and it just keeps you wanting for more. I love Laura's personality, she doesn't let anyone else overpower her and her love for books/education makes her a strong and independent women that everyone can relate to. Their attraction for one another kept me wanting to know more about these characters and their future together. Overall, the story line was great, and the ending was amazing.
