The first sexy, captivating, stand-alone novel in the brand-new FIGHT FOR ME series from NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson . . .
Rex Gunner. As bitter as he is beautiful.
The owner of the largest construction company in Gingham Lakes has been burned one too many times. His wife leaving him to raise their daughter was the last blow this single dad could take. The only woman he’ll let into his heart is his little girl.
Rynna Dayne. As vulnerable as she is tempting.
She ran from Gingham Lakes when she was seventeen. She swore to herself she would never return. Then her grandmother passed away and left her the deed to the diner that she once loved.
When Rex meets his new neighbor, he knows he’s in trouble.
She’s gorgeous and sweet and everything he can’t trust.
Until she becomes the one thing he can’t resist.
One kiss sends them tumbling toward ecstasy.
But in a town this size, pasts are bound to collide. Caught in a web of lies, betrayal, and disloyalty, Rex must make a choice.
Will he hide behind his walls or will he take the chance . . .

My Review:
Show Me the Way is one of those books that will grip you and never let go. It wasn’t just about the romance or the sexual tension between the characters, but it was also about moving forward and letting let go of the past.
At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Rynna Dayne, after having moved away from her home at the age of seventeen, she promised herself to never return to Gingham Lakes ever again. When she finds out that her grandmother has passes away, Rynna knows that it’s time to go back to her old town and face the past that she longed to forget. But when she meets Rex Gunner, her neighbor, things quickly start to change. Not only does she have to resist his charms every time she sees him with his little daughter, but she also needs to manage to restore her grandmother’s diner. Pepper’s is diner that everyone in town loves, especially the pie’s that made Grandma Dayne famous in her little twown, and Rynna feels responsible to make her proud. She knows that there are things that she needs to face in order to move on with her future, but soon discovers that her past has once collided with her future and it could ruin what she longs to have with Rex.
Rex Gunner is definitely a lady’s man, he is handsome and even more charming when he is with his little girl, Frankie. As an owner of construction company, he has been able to provide for his daughter after her mom left them both years ago. It’s no secret in town that what she did hurt him really bad, but after moving to Gingham Lakes, he meets Grandma Dayne and it seemed that everything was going to be okay. When she passes away, he never expected for anyone to move next door to him until he sees his neighbor and his life changes forever. Now it’ll be up to him to get her to trust in him and see that they can truly be together.
I was really impressed with the story, A.L. Jackson has once again managed to deliver a story filled with twists and turns. It’s evident from the very start that the characters have a magnetic pull, and their pasts are what seem to pull them closer. Rex has been hurt in the past and he can’t trust those around now. Rynna was abandoned by the her mother when she was a child and her grandmother happens to be the one to raise her, yet living in a small town people talk and those that disliked her managed to hurt her in a way that ultimately makes her leave town. When the two of them start to get to know each other, they slowly tell each other their pasts and it helps them move on. In terms of the characters, it was a bit hard to like Rex at the beginning, he was guarded and a bit of a jerk towards Rynna. On the contrary, Rynna is kind and caring. She can see behind Rex’s facade and it’s willing to do anything in order to make him trust her. All in all, the story was great from beginning to finish and I highly recommend checking it out. The ending was sweet and romantic, definitely a great start to the series!
