Kiss Me Again by Emma Hart

Release Date: October 22nd 2019
Series: Kiss Me #3
Pages: 161
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Humor

WANTED: ROOMMATE. Must be tidy, polite, and absolutely not my brother's hot as sin best friend.

I have no idea why I said yes.
Maybe I'd had one too many wines. Maybe I'd done it accidentally. Maybe I'd been sleep-texting.

One thing I know for sure is this: I absolutely do not want Ethan Hawkins in my apartment, up in my business, taking over my space.
Yet he's here. Moving his stuff into my spare bedroom. Sending a wave of panty-melting, musky man-scent my way every time he walks past me.

Here's the thing.
We don't get along--at all. We never have, and I don't think we're going to start now that we're under one roof.

There's also that little issue where I'm kinda, sorta, totally in love with him...

Uh-oh.

My Review:

Ever since I read Kiss Me Not, the first book in the Kiss Me series, I knew that I had to continue reading the rest of the series and it didn’t disappoint at all. Emma Hart has managed to deliver yet another laugh-out-loud story in Kiss Me Again, filled with sass and tender moments.

Ava Parker is in trouble, she is struggling to pay the rent and she needs a roommate fast. She was so desperate that when her brother suggests for his friend, Ethan, to move in with her she immediately agrees. Now it’s the big move day and she is starting to regret ever agreeing to him moving into her apartment. Having grown up with Ethan, they never got along yet she is hopelessly in love with him.

Her friends, Halley and Reagan are the only ones that know about her feelings for him and she intends to keep it that way. But having him close to her is definitely not working, she is attracted to him and at the same time they start to bicker about random things in the apartment. So when he moved the placement of her candles one morning, she takes it as a sign of war and the two begin a game of who is getting who. One of them would be the winner, but little did they know that they would end up winning each other’s hearts. If there is one thing that Ava is afraid of is of getting hurt and for Ethan to leave soon. She is ready to protect her heart against anything before it’s too late.

Ethan Hawkins is used to moving around with his friend Leo and since they are both back in town, he suggests for him to move to Ava’s apartment knowing that he wouldn’t be there for long. But it’s clear to him the minute he moves in that they will never get along. She is still sassy and having her at close proximity is messing with his head because he has always had feelings for her. Even though he likes her, he can’t get himself to make a move due to her brother. Leo has been his best friend since they were kids and he doesn’t want to damage their relationship. Yet, the more time he spends with Ava the more certain he is of her and now he has to finds a way to make her see how much he truly loves her.

I absolutely loved reading this book! Hart has done it again, she truly knows how to deliver humor in each other her stories. Kiss Me Again had me laughing and rooting for the characters from the very beginning. Ava has such a sassy personality and has no filter. Luckily for her, Ethan has the same type of humor and they compliment each other really well. The fact that he has a hedgehog as a pet was so cute! He is caring and protective. Ava is smart and definitely my favorite character in the series. She is herself and it shows in the book. All in all, the story was a great read and the ending will literally melt your heart. Definitely a must-read! :)

{EXCERPT}

I shoved the front door open and set my gaze on Ethan on the sofa. “If you’re going to lie to me about living here, we’re going to have to set some hard and fast rules. The first one: the stinky, spiky pig lives in your bedroom.”

He peered over at me, one hand in a bag of cheese Doritos and the other tickling the hedgehog who was now lying on his chest.

It was quite the sight.

“How do you know he stinks?” he asked, licking his fingers and cradling the animal before he put the chip packet on the coffee table.

“I Googled. They need cleaning every day. I’m not doing it, and neither am I living in a smell of tiny animal who should be wild.”

“He’s a pygmy hedgehog. He’s bred to be domesticated.”

“His spiky bits could be made out of solid gold and I wouldn’t give a shit.” I put my purse on the island and looked at him. “You can send me Google links to them if it pleases His Highness, but my stance won’t change. That animal is not living in my living room, and I’d rather you didn’t snuggle with him on the sofa.”

“It’s ironic,” Ethan mused. “I have a hedgehog on my chest, and you’re still the prickliest thing in this apartment.”

“If I wasn’t staunchly against animal cruelty, I’d throw a saucepan at you.”

“You can still hit me over the head with it.”

“I was talking about you, not the hedgehog, you pig.”

“May I say that you are an absolute fucking delight, Ava. I can’t imagine why you’re still single.”

“Probably the same reason you are. The asshole gene is strong as fuck and not all that attractive.”
