A viral shitstorm, that's what. No way did I want thousands of subscribers to read my confessions--yet, that's precisely what went down last night after four too many Cosmos with my girls.
Now, Damage Control is my new middle name because my diary confessional has my roommate, Lucas Stone, written all over it.
Literally.
I've been in love with him forever--well, ever since I saw him sprint across campus naked during our first year of college.
And now that Lucas knows how I feel about him? Well, things are destined to get awkward.
Because Lucas Stone, my BFF--the man who sleeps only one room over--just got engaged.
And his fiancΓ©e isn't me.
My Review:
When Macy Sinclair finds out that her best friend and long time crush is getting married, she is devastated and heart broken. It’s after a late night with her friends and too many drinks that she ends up accidentally publishing her digital diary online. As a former content creator for a popular book-review blog called Confession of a Bookaholic, Macy has a big following and it’s her entry that goes viral really fast. Realizing that she made a terrible mistake, she rushes to delete her post hoping that Lucas doesn’t see it before it’s too late.
Ever since Lucas Sinclair met Macy, he has always liked her and over the years his feelings have developed into something more. But it’s their very friendship that has made it difficult for him to come out and tell her how he feels. He vowed to move on especially with his football career taking off and proposing to his girlfriend seemed like a good idea at the time. Little did he know that his plan would end backfiring on him and reading Macy’s post would change their lives forever.
I absolutely loved reading this book, perfect for those us that are hopeless romantics when it comes to book boyfriends. Lucas is the perfect guy who is sweet and caring towards Macy. He pays attention to he likes and even reads her blog. That’s how much he for her! On the other hand, Macy is funny and smart. She has dreams of writing for his huge magazine, but that’s when a lot of little issues start to come out and challenge their relationship. They are going into different directions and they have to find way back to each other if they want to be together. As the story is told in dual POV, we get take a peek into what’s truly going on in each character and why they make the choices that they chose to make. Although there isn’t a huge conflict in story, we do a few twists to keep us hooked until the very end. The ending was sweet and swoon worthy, cannot recommend this story enough! I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future. ;)
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
My Rating:
Author of sexy rom-coms and feel-good contemporary romance, Joslyn Westbrook's novels feature sweep-you-off-your-feet heroes and the sassy, classy, badassy heroines who can't seem to breathe without them. When she's not writing, Joslyn can be found binge-watching Netflix, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her husband and children at home in sunny California.
