How to Date a Younger Man by Kendall Ryan is a slow burn sexy age gap romance that will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.
At the beginning of the story we get to meet Layne Anderson, a successful attorney who has been working nonstop ever since she decided to open her own firm. Being the boss has taken up a lot of her time, but there is something missing from her life and that is love. Someone to share her success with and have a family of her own. It’s her birthday and her employees surprise her by gifting her a message that would come directly to the office so that she can’t say that she is busy. Layne is surprised, but even more so when she sees who is going to give her the massage.
Griffin is kind and professional right away. Until he asks her out and she immediately shuts him down, as she can clearly see that he is a lot younger than her. To make things worse he happens to be her best friend’s younger brother as well. There is something alluring about Griffin that Layne can’t seem to forget no matter how much she tries to move on with her life. It would take a turn of events to change their dynamic and bring them even closer. Now she had to figure out if what she has with him can lead to a future together or not before it’s too late.
Griffin doesn’t really know what he wants to do with his life and after getting his degree in business, he has decided to take a year off to figure out the right path for him. So that’s when he gets his massage therapist license in order to make some money. But he wasn’t expecting to meet Layne, he is attracted to her right away and is not afraid of her being the boss. He admires what she has accomplished, and wants to get to know her more. It doesn’t help his case that she keep thinking about their age gap and that his sister happens to be her best friend. Things get complicated right away, but he is determined to win her over no matter what.
I really enjoyed reading the book, it was sweet and incredibly steamy. Kendall Ryan knows how to deliver a believable story that is relatable and swoon worthy. I loved their chemistry. Layne is powerful and smart. She has worked so hard to get to where she is and she wants a family as well. Although Griffin is younger than her, he never makes their age a big deal. He embraces who she is and that makes him that much more likable. They do have their ups and downs, but at the end they are willing to work hard to work them out. The ending was sweet and it brought the story full circle, it was great. I would highly recommend checking out this story and any other by the author. You won’t be disappointed. :)
