Rey narrowed his eyes at her as she leaned back against the counter of his galley kitchen. "Why do you want to know all this about me?"

She shrugged, not even knowing why she was so fascinated by him. "Call me curious. I came here thinking I would help a little old man protect himself from sea monsters dwelling in some spooky haunted bay."

"I am an old man."

"You're not little." She awarded him an appreciative look.

"No." His lips curled into a half smile. "I don't think I am."

Saira looked around the place. "Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely boat. Rough on the outside, sure, but cozy inside. You made it your home. Still, you have a huge mansion in Seaport, a fortune, and a family that cares enough about you to spend a few hours on a spell to send me here."

"Hours?"

"Yeah, pretty much." There had been the search for the right spell book, Kerala and Celeste running to town for components, while Diesel's mom Olivia purified herself with a long bath to be ready for the incantation.
