I cupped her face. “I’m so sorry. You’ll never know how much. And I’m really sorry for being such an asshole the past few weeks. You deserve so much better than how I’ve treated you. If you give me a chance, I’ll prove to you I’m not a complete jackass.”

Bri wiped the cloth along my collarbone one last time and shut off the water. After seeing the amount of blood on the washcloth, her face turned strikingly white and she looked away. I ran my thumbs along her cheekbones until she focused on me again.

Tessa’s smile dropped. “Wait, what?”

"Seriously. Promise me you'll go down to that party. I will check up on you and hassle you mercilessly when I see you, and I’ll know if you didn’t. You suck at lying.”

He quirked a brow, that intense gaze of his turning unsettling as he stared down at me. "No," he said, his lip twisting with the words. My pulse quickened, sensing that small hint of something that lurked beneath the surface. With a glance at the man standing next to the walkway up to and around the falls, I looked back to Rafael with a flare of my nostrils and purse of my lips.

I huffed in disbelief as I shook my head and fought back the surge of emotions within me. I'd been so fucking stupid to think he understood that my fear came from a place of trauma. From something not so easily overcome. Leaning into his space, I laid down the challenge I knew probably wasn't my smartest move.

My Review:

K.A. Linde delivers a gripping love triangle romance that is going to keep you guessing until the very end.

The story starts off with a wedding and it’s with one man objecting that changes everything for Lila Greer. She knows that she has to marry one, even if she is in love with both of them. Then we go back in time, where she is in college and meets Cole Davis. He represents her present, gives her hope for a new beginning after recovering from a bad break up. Cole is there for her when she needs him and she sees herself being with him in the future. But then she is reminded that her past is right behind her as she gets a text from the one that broke her heart, Ash Talmadge. Having met in high school, she wasn’t expecting for the popular guy at school to notice her, until he does. His family might be wealthy, but he never makes her feel any less and their love for classic books is just one of the many things that they have in common. He is her first and Lila wonders if he might just be her forever as well. As years go by, it will take a turn of events for Lila to finally make a decision that will change all three of their lives forever.

I don’t tend to gravitate to love triangle romances often, but when I read the synopsis of this book I was hooked. Having read other books by Linde before, I knew that she was going to deliver a story full of substance and all the feels! She was able to create a relatable story and as readers we are able to see how Ash and Cole change her life at different points in time. There is a lot of back and forth when it comes to time in the story that was a bit difficult to keep track of in the beginning, but I got used to it very quick. It’s because of the strong feelings that she has developed for both of them that she has trouble deciding who is the best for her. It’s a rollercoaster of events that make her see who is right for her at the very end. It all happens really fast, that I wish the one she rejected would have fought back, but at the same time her decision does makes sense at the end. Overall, I was happy to read the extra epilogue, Hold On Forever, it truly brings everything to a full circle and it makes the story so much better. I would highly recommend checking out Hold the Forevers and any other books by the author, you will not regret it. :)

I glanced around me, more than a little confused. I finally shrugged.
“It’s yours. Now that’s two things you’re responsible for.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I mean you didn’t ask the right question and you also froze everyone in this

school. See? One. Two.”
My mouth dropped open. I stood there staring for what felt like ages. Terin

stood there, with his hands behind his back, calmly waiting for me to get over my shock. He finally cleared his throat and I shook my head. He rocked slightly on his heels.

“What are you playing at? I didn’t freeze everyone here. Only a witch would be able to do something like this and witches aren’t allowed on these grounds,” I said. I glared at him, wanting him to leave. I didn’t want to hear what he had to say.

“Oh, Jameson. You really don’t know anything about witches, do you?” Terin said, shaking his head. I let out a bark of laughter.

“I know everything I need to - they’re vile, freaks of nature and they should be exterminated. Why would I need to know anything else?” I spat.

“Well, for one thing, it’ll help you learn how to control the power you just sent ricocheting throughout your entire school. For another, it’ll help you actually be productive in your new classes,” Terin finished.

He waved his hand around us, gesturing to everyone who stood silently and unmoving. He turned back to me, where I was silently freaking out. I didn’t want to be here anymore.

“I didn’t do anything.”

“Sure you did. When you released your anger in that little temper tantrum, you sent out your power. You were able to send a shock wave through your entire school and freeze everyone here. Must have been really pissed about something to have frozen that many people with your first spell. Quite impressive really,” Terin looked around at the people standing around us, looking mildly amused.

“I don’t understand,” I shook my head, still not connecting the dots. Terin sighed and said the three words that ruined my entire life: “You’re a witch.”

“Here, let me help you.” Adam leaned over her shoulder and secured her. His closeness did wonders for her nerves. “We can go together? Maybe that would make you more comfortable?”

She shot a glance at the zipline. “Can we?”

“Sure.” Adam made work of clasping their clips to the next lanyard. He stepped to the end of the platform, turned around and squatted with his ass partially hanging over the platform.

“Hop on,” he said on a wink.

“Oh, my God. You can’t be serious?”

“Yeah, Cait, I am. If you want to go together, you must straddle me.”

Her eyes widened. Adam laughed and said, “Ah, come on. Bring those pretty titties to my face.”

She busted out laughing at his way with words. “Geez. Such a sweet talker.”

He joined her laugh and after a beat he said, “I promise you’ll enjoy the ride…”

“I’m going to hop on, just to shut you up.”

Caitlin straddled his tree trunk thighs and held herself stiffly in an upright position.

With one hand, he swooped her closer to him. So close, she felt him. There.

Her body tingled all over and her palms got sweaty again.

His breath caressed her throat. Caitlin almost let a moan slip from her mouth. She quickly coughed to cover the sound.
