What is your desire?
Lust, money, or power?

I am the man who can make every dream come true, for a price.

Years ago, a fight for supremacy took place between the two most powerful families in New Orleans. The battle was set in the metaphoric octagon, with the spotlight blazing. The city sat in paralyzed fear, awaiting word of a victor.

Abraham Ramses versus Isaiah Boudreau.
One man would emerge victorious and rule the city of sin.
Neither understood that the devil was in the details.
Neither lived to see the rising sun.

I’m Everett Ramses, son of Abraham, and I am the devil.
I took my rightful place as king of New Orleans.
Now, my realm is threatened by a man with false claims to the Boudreau family.
I know what I must have to secure my empire—who I must have.
The rightful daughter of Isaiah Boudreau, Emma North, must be my wife. Together we will reign stronger than ever before. But first, she must take the devil’s deal.

Have you been Aleatha'd?

*DEVIL’S DEAL is a full-length novel that begins with the prequel FATE’S DEMAND previously titled The Deal.

My Review:

Not having read other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Devil’s Deal. Needless to say, I was impressed with the storyline and characters from beginning to end. Aleatha Romig manages to deliver an intriguing story full of betrayal, deceit and unexpected twists to keep you wanting for more.

Set in the historical city of New Orleans, we first meet the characters in Fate’s Demand where we get more background information on Emma and Everett. After learning that she was adopted into a family that she believed to be her own, Emma O’Brien had no idea what that truly meant for her or how her future was about to change forever. Now for the first time ever Emma is visiting the city where she was really born in, pitching an editing program to an investor with her business parter that would revolutionize self-publishing. They need the capital to get started and this mysterious investor based in New Orleans wanted to meet with them in person. Yet, she quickly realizes that he is interested in so much more and soon she is making a deal with the devil himself when her life is on the line. There are many tales that are told in the city that are not always true, but hers is and Emma is about to be caught in the middle of a war that she never expected to be.

Everett Ramses has always known where his family history lies within New Orleans. Nothing happens without their approval and power is everything to them. But it wasn’t always like that, the city was ruled by two families until it wasn’t anymore. He assumed his place as the rightful heir and ruled the city with an iron fist. Yet, Everett wasn’t counting on the fact that someone else was getting ready to stake a claim on his city. His only choice now is to marry Emma O’Brien and he is ready to make a deal she won’t be able to turn down. It’s just when things start to become real for them that shocking twist of events threaten to destroy what they’ve built.

I really enjoyed reading Devil’s Deal, the story itself felt very realistic with the setting set in New Orleans. Romig was able to set the scene for the entire book while giving us background knowledge on the city and intertwining it with the actual story. There is so much more that happens in the book and them making a deal is just the beginning. Their actual chemistry is magnetic and it’s evident that they both have a strong attraction to each other when they first meet. They both are strong-willed individuals that are not used to give up control and that’s one of the major factors that they need to work on as obstacles come their way. The shocking cliffhanger at the end has me already wanting to read the next and final book. I would highly recommend checking out the free prequel novella Fate’s Demand before reading Devil’s Deal. It’s addicting story that will leave you hooked from beginning to end. :)

**I received an advanced copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.**
